It's a sad state of affairs for all sides involved. Unfortunately all these attacks really seem to be doing is turning people more and more TOWARD militancy and against the US and it's citizens. They can't seem to separate the two. I have large issues with the government but American people generally speaking are mostly warm and giving (albeit more prone to want to use force I think that others). The bombings should stop but the militants need to stop their bombing first. They DID start this with US in 2001. Of course gung ho gi joe (ie. programmed automaton) is not needed.

Many Japanese blogs tend to be a bit more polite and less confrontational than English blogs.

I agree Speed. They also tend to be more about what happened to them in their day to day lives and more photos I think.

    Some others:

Why the sarcasm toward bloggers and saying nobody cares about their "boring lives?" Everyone has experiences and stories to tell that is interesting to others (if even just to oneself or family). Sometimes people just want to write about what's on their mind. Nobody else has to read it. Japanese bloggers also tend to not be so angry and demeaning to others.

.It can only happen in japan.

It's not merely a Japanese thing but unfortunately happens all over the world in all cultures. These people are sick sick SICK and need to be removed from society to keep this from happening again.

Perhaps someone has already posted this but the telegraph posted today and article regarding this "burkini" at this link:

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100006651/how-the-west-was-lost-ctd-the-burkini/

It seems as though this author doesn't support burkini either.

I've watched Totoro and yes, I know what it means. That has no bearing on whether or not I like it.

Badsey, some of the activities you mention take place in ocean or river and some in pools. If it's a public pool and it has established rules (not just added all of a sudden) then you either obey them or you don't go there.

When I ride horses I wear a riding helmet because of rules (and my own safety) but if someone didn't want to wear the helmet or wanted to have on a veil instead they'd refuse that person to ride and I agree with that. Period.

Either obey the rules like everyone else does or don't go to these places. I don't care what your religious or lifestyle belief is (however misguided it might be) but don't use that as an excuse to cause grief and trouble for others. Someone else mentioned early that she'd be swimming with males who are not her husband, brother, father, etc. so that would be a violation in and of itself. Or would she also want and complain that the pool should be only female for certain hours while she was there? Where does it end?

Only in Japan would you need such a law! We truly are still living in Medievel times!

You have no understanding of why this law is in affect. I don't understand if people have so much dislike/disdain for Japan and customs, why do you even come to this site?

If you lived in a civilized, first rate nation, you could actually be Jailed for spouting off those "Innocent Japan" white-washed history views...

Just like the US is ALWAYS innocent and never provokes anyone? Right!

Your forefather were responsible for other deaths or were they just necessary to GI Joe job done?

You're welcome for your freedom, even though you never did anything to earn it....!

And I gather YOU did something to secure that?

People should be able to say what they want. Denying the holocaust is just stupid. It happened and nothing can change that so why bring attention. The other side though needs to stop whining whenever they hear something said they don't like. They have such a big chip on their shoulders that any comment can be construed as anti-Semitic.

The estimates in Europe are around 11 million. 5 million of those you never hear about much and never hear whining from.

In Asia, the "holocaust" committed by IJA was MUCH greater in numbers and that's something you don't hear thrust in the news all the time. I wonder why? Perhaps being uncivilized as you call us means we don't spend entire lives reliving someone else's past.

The whole issues is rediculous. The pool policy stated no baggy clothes. These "burkini" are not form fitting so they don't conform to policy and the wearer either needs to change or go someplace else.

    THIS is equality.

aren't pools forcing us to wear bikinis/swimmingsuits?

What do you mean? People should be able to swim in a public pool naked if they want to?

I am sure there are women out there who don't go to the pool because they don't want to expose themselves.

So don't go to the pool. I don't see the point.

Funny we never really hear of men complaining about these things. If there is a reason for embarrassment for a man to not go to a pool then they just don't go and don't start raising a fuss over it.

This story and complaint isn't even coming from someone born into the religion but from a convert. I still think if she didn't want to deal with other things associated with this belief then perhaps she shouldn't have converted in the first place.

Good idea for kids. I've seen some usb microscopes for computers but this should be even better. It's a nice way to get them interested in the world.

Perhaps people SHOULD drive their cars to 300,000 + miles instead of throwing money away and getting into debt again to buy a new one to satisfy an aesthetic appeal or must have in-dash GPS system.

I agree that the Japanese manufacturers receive a large support from the government that US makers don't or didn't until all the bailouts by US govt. (GM went bankrupt but govt. made sure it didn't get hit too hard and tried to make it so people who had defective vehicles and were injured could not longer sue the manufacturer after bankruptcy). The US (like here) is VERY expensive place to live. It's not the citizen's fault and I think most Americans are very nice and welcoming so I'm not jabbing at US people ever. My problem is that the pure capitalism and stand back govt. has ALLOWED all these things to happen, escalating cost of living and food prices, people losing jobs and losing homes, health care issue.

With the C4C program, yes, it "might" help to buy US cars but the majority of the increase in sales will go to the executives and NOT the people who need it. Buy Japanese/Korean (not to mention German which is more expensive than US or Japanese) and yes, some of the money will go overseas but as I said the majority of these vehicles for US market are assembled at plants in US so it does help people in US. Whether the money goes go to already rich US executives or already rich Japanese executives is the same thing. Some US parts are manufactured in China and Japanese parts in Japan so some of the money will always be leaving the home country.

The pool authority was correct as long as those policies are applied across all users and not segregated for individuals. It's a shame she can't swim as she wants but she chose the outfit and religion, not everyone else using the pool, even if taxes paid for it. Having an established set of rules and abiding by them brings order and civility. Even animals have hierarchies that they exist by.

All our taxes pay for public parks and museums but most people abide by established regulations and don't urinate or defecate in them. Also, most people wouldn't wear skimpy/trashy clothes to a temple or church.

If you choose a religion that restricts what you wear and eat, or how often you must pray or how much money you have to tithe, then you accept those restrictions. If not then you work within the system to change them.

Agree completely Redhots! To the nay-sayers, lighten up.

WMD: you obviously know nothing about Japan which makes your comment even more of a joke.

Lat: If you don't like the way Japanese girls are then don't bother with them.

She's meant to appeal to younger girls primarily and they seem to like it so what's it matter? I'd choose her over Miss California and her gay bashing lying about body augmentation any day.

    noborito:

Look at the results of questionnaires sent out by research firms and you'll see that most people who bought Toyota, Honda, Nissan did so because of better quality and value (it's not hard to find a honda still running strong at 300,000 miles but the same can't be said for ford or Chevrolet..very difficult)

Also, the majority of these cars for the US market are made in USA. They don't face bankruptcy because they did what they needed to do to keep the company going.

Presto345, I respect your opinion although I don't share it and I would not have so much a problem except for the loud mufflers. When I'm in the US my neighbor has a HD with big pipes and when he gets in late at night I'm always woken up and that's ridiculous. Like whatever you like but don't bother others in the process.
