An alternative view of this assault is citing: "US to Launch Fallujah-style Attack in Afghanistan" and goes on: "As US and British troops prepare to attack the town of Marjah in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province, military commanders and the media are openly comparing the operation to the November 2004 siege of Fallujah, one of the bloodiest war crimes of the Iraq war. The operation in central Helmand province, long an area of intense resistance to the US-led occupation, will constitute the largest military offensive since Washington invaded the country in October 2001. At least 15,000 troops are expected to lay siege to the Helmand river valley town, which has 80,000 inhabitants and is said by the US military to be a stronghold of the Taliban. A total of 125,000 people live in the district around Marjah, which is an agricultural center 350 miles west of Kabul. The population has been swelled by Afghans fleeing villages occupied by US Marines last summer, following President Barack Obama’s order shortly after he took office to send 21,000 more troops into Afghanistan. US Marines, frustrated and enraged over casualties suffered at the hands of an unseen enemy who is able to attack and then blend back into the local population, will be unleashed against the town in a violent military assault, with predictable results. Brigadier General Larry Nicholson, commander of the US Marines in southern Afghanistan, spelled out the character of the upcoming offensive. Those found in Marjah would have three options. “One is to stay and fight and probably die,” he said. “The second one is to make peace with his government and reintegrate.” The third would be to attempt to escape, “In which case we’ll probably have some people out there waiting on them as well.” “We're going to go in big,” said Nicholson, commander of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade. “I’m not looking for a fair fight,” he added. Well, I'm still wondering how the ,"Pull it!" order for WTC7 all happened so quickly, given that it had not been struck by an aircraft. Wiring a building for demolition takes weeks, if not a couple of months, in built up areas.

Conspiracy theories come from free thinking people, and is something that has been beaten out of the populus over the past 75 years. Following the politically correct line smells of sheeplehood. Get it all in one chunk here: http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/9-11BasicQuestions.html and then growl about the conspiracy theorists.

Cui bono 9/11? PNAC et al, of course!

Remember, when Japan bought all kinds of US and other offshore real-estate at inflated prices, the net benefit to Japan was......nothing. China is situating itself to buy (in future terms) assets that will perform, and .....benefit China. Japan played poker. China's playing chess.

"The teacher asks a question; the student gives an answer; the teacher shows how wrong the student is and what the right answer is; the student is enlightened. Japanese students loathe this kind of strategy. They see it as a smartass prof making them look foolish in order to reinforce the teacher's superiority. If teacher knows the right answer, why doesn't he just impart the information?"

This is EXACTLY the kind of spoonfeeding that got the Japanese training system into the mess that it's in. (I couldn't bring myself to call it an educational system, because it's not.) Spoonfeed, regurgitate, forget.

Critical thinking: What's that? Another thing Japan could do: Don't dub over foreign language speakers on TV. They'll NEVER learn another language if they never hear it. Why learn, when NHK will always be there to translate for you?

Really? No more so than the oppressors for the previous seven-hundred-odd years. Who were the real terrorists? In some cases, the very SAS you advocate sending in to hunt them down. Face it, Colonialism sucks and payback, as they say, is a b-tch! GB has learned that, now its the US' turn, but they're a bit slow on the uptake.

Parellel to this Joe Lieberman and John Kerry are leading the beat of war-drums in DC, and counselling against diplomacy with Iran(?) as Israel sends missile boats through the Suez to the Gulf, in preparation for war.

All ignoring the fact that Iran is acting within its legal rights to develop nuclear power. (Nobody's proven that it's a 98% enrichment weapons program, so spare me the pre-emptive strike hogwash. Hollering at Iran to prove a negative makes the blood-lust for war in DC and Tel Aviv all the more obvious.)

Given part-Chinese and part-Russian ownership of these sites in Iran, how will DC & Tel Aviv deal with war against these two superpowers, I wonder? As we've seen in the Liberation of Iraq, next-day scenarios are not the strong point at the Pentagon, now, are they? If oil hits exorbitant prices when the Straits of Hormuz is blocked by conflict, the US can kiss the green shoots of economic recovery goodbye. Robert Gates WAS the cool head in this foray up until now. I hope his Masters keep it that way, or heaven help us all.

Related to this story is an essay in the UN Observer and International Report, which, given this piece above, one can hardly disagree with: America is "a nation that seeks war" and if it doesn’t change it could end up destroying itself. Given all the wars the United States has waged, "It is preposterous but true that we do not see ourselves as a nation that seeks war," writes Lawrence Velvel, dean of the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover. "We see ourselves as a peace loving nation" and that message is constantly drummed into the public by government and media. "If the United States were a man instead of a country, we would say he must be schizophrenic, or at minimum deeply mentally disturbed, to believe he is peace loving in the face of a record like this", Velvel writes in "The Long Term View," a journal of informed opinion published by his law school. Velvel further notes the U.S. today spends more on military than perhaps all the rest of the world put together and definitely more than the next 21 highest-spending nations combined, including China, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Israel. Not only do Americans always appear to be at war but they believe they fight only in good causes, he writes. "We believe we at all times fight only to do God’s work, and that we therefore have to fight or democracy, freedom, and economic affluence will be lost," Velvel writes. He says truth cannot be permitted to intrude "because it would destroy our self image." "Certainly much of the rest of the world---probably most of the rest of the world---does not see us as peaceloving." Gulf War II, Velvel notes, is having the opposite impact on public opinion the U.S. intended. "It has caused Muslims---the Arab 'street,’ in particular---to hate our guts even more than they already did."

Mossad killed him. He wasn't smuggling, he was buying and arranging for delivery, as a legitimate operative of the Government of Gaza. (Why do we not say America is smuggling banned and awful weapons of mass destruction into Israel to be used on children? It's exactly the same.) The same Gaza that was subjected to a crime against humanity by an illegitimate oppressor, and has every right to feed and defend itself. Israel is a compulsive liar state; don't believe them if they told you today was Monday. Hesbollah, the Iranians, the Syrians all have legitimate grievances against Israel, as do the Palestinians in Gaza and the rest of their occupied country.

I know the Israel-firsters, the supposedly pro-life Christian Zionists, will never concede to this. But, not conceding doesn't in any way alter the truth of what IS.

Add to this that Israeli nuclear powered (and armed?) submarines have been deployed to the same region, and that US & Russian subs have almost collided several times in the Baltic in recent weeks, I think it would be fair to say that H.E. The President is going to prove to the world that this peace prize was most assuredly not-deserved.
