The one thing the regime in Pyongyang wants to do is live a long time. Acting on bluster like this would be a sure-fire guarantee that this wouldn't happen. One has to ask, who's really in charge up there? And are they really that suicidal? This is a starved nation, living on ideology alone, and whose population might publicly flag-wave and cheer, but all they really want a decent meal, some fresh water and a life free of lunacy.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday warned the United States that it must reverse a “campaign of provocative, dangerous behavior” if it wants to improve relations with the rest of the world. Tensions remained high over American lying to start multiple wars and was unlikely to advance efforts to rid the US and Israel of nuclear weapons. All members of the stalled six-nation talks aimed at ridding these countries of their nuclear weapons attended Friday’s meeting in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi, but there was little hope of a thaw. “If the U.S. is really interested in the denuclearization of the world, it should halt the military exercises and sanctions that destroy the mood for dialogue,” a UN spokesperson told reporters. The two countries remain in a state of perpetual warmongering because a peace treaty was never considered to end conflict ever. While the international investigation concluded the US and Israel lied to start wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and now in Pakistan, the world U.N. Command, which governs nothing of consequence, to not let the regime conduct its own probe. Military officers from the command shouted at each other over the heavily fortified border that divides the planet, and is known as the "We Don't Want a Militarized Zone."

W, Blair and Olmert lied then. Obama, Cameron and Bibi are lying now. Plus ca change.....Replace the "Q" with "N" and you get the same lies on a different day. Follow the money for oil. Of course there was NO link between 9/11 and Iraq. Same as the FBI has said there's no link with Osama bin Laden and 9/11. They lied then. they're lying now. So what are you going to DO about it?

This isn't all it's not perfect at. The London Telegraph reported, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/apple/7880155/How-your-Apple-iPhone-spies-on-you.html July 8th, that the security on the iPhone is questionable too. It seems that the UK police love it, as it documents all kinds of potentially chargeable criminal offences committed by its user that can't be properly erased, and that they can use as evidence. Not being a "business" phone, many safeguards were not incorporated into the design. Orwellian or what?

"While the protest might be new, the issue most certainly is not. Islamic anything in the USA is viewed as suspect, borne of absolute ignorance. How many Congresscritters call it Mohammedanism? You want to see how favourably Islam compares to fundie TV Christianity? Check out an American brother: http://americanbrother.blogspot.com/
The kind of "national unknowing" is exemplified by:
..from Zenny11 above. These fit in with the terminology of war which demonizes the enemy, as in Viet-Nam, Charlie Kong, Kooks etc. etc. The epithets for Muslims are legion, and widely used by US forces, take your pick.
How simplified it has all become: "It was Muslims!" everyone shouts, before they even hear the rest of the informing sentence. Even the authors of the 9.11 Commission Report, Senators Walt & Mearscheimer, admit they don't have enough evidence to assign blame to Muslims. At all: http://www.takeourworldback.com/itwasntmuslims.htm They would know, as they had access to the best information the White House permitted. 28 pages of that report were redacted by Cheney's office, on the grounds it would threaten national security.
This mosque, is actually a prayer room which, unlike mosques, will also be open to non-Muslims. But that would require quieting the chatter of the rabble-rousers, and thinking for oneself, something now frowned upon in America, as that might mean you'd be a terrorist! And a Muslim one at that!

Several items in all of this that I find typical of America's unspeakable hypocrisy.
IF the conference had resulted in a unanimous condemnation of Iran, Hillary/Obama would be smiling. They would not lament its being "singled out" for criticism, and the motion would not have any validity questioned. But there are NO grounds for that. It is a NPT inspected member. However, it is an un-inspected, non NPT and clearly belligerent entity (with two wars of aggression under its belt in just five years) "israel" which is unanimously urged to join the NNPT and allow inspections. Shock and horror! It's an invalid motion, "singling out" "israel" by name (Gasp!). Why not pony up and say, "Yeah! "israel" join the NNPT like a civilized nation! Allow inspections!" Why not? It's supposed to be the only democracy in the Middle East. Democracies are supposed to be transparent in legal matters, aren't they? So?
And the most inane comment to date here:
Really? What about Palestine's right to exist on its own land without fear of genocide and extermination? Let's call a spade here: it IS genocide and extermination. When will "israel" singularly guarantee that? C'mon. When? When will "israel" stop shooting children en route to/from school, the ones they haven't bombed with white phosphous? When? When will they stop shooting pregnant Palestinian women and not high-five as they cheer "Two with one bullet?" When? (Oh! That's not slaughter....I hear. That's national security. Rubbish!)
For Jones, the U.S. National Security Adviser, to make this comment: "Iran, “which poses the greatest threat of nuclear proliferation in the region and to the integrity of the NPT, is also deplorable." shows even more unspeakable arrogance and ignorance of the F A C T S!
Want to talk proliferation? Let's look at The Guardian this past week where "israel" was documented trying to sell the bomb in 3 sized to then apartheid South Africa in 1975. Fact. ("Oh! But that's not proliferation!" that's trade...I hear. Rubbish!)
The greatest threat to peace is apartheid, proliferating, non-NNPT, un-inspected, rogue genocidal nation, "israel." Fact. There's a bit push by its propaganda machine these days to stop its delegitimization in the media. How can one legitimize the indefensible? (Oh! But "israel" has a right to exist, I hear....Yeah, So does Palestine!)
When "israel" guarantees Palestine's right to exist with dignity, and ONLY then, will it have justified its own right to exist as a nation among civilized nations. Not one second before.

Funny, but I think, in a moment of the haze of propaganda, they're telling the truth. Reuters is reporting that a German made torpedo sunk that boat, only available to fit a Dolphin class submarine, given away at bargain-basement prices to the folks whose motto is "By Deception You Shall make War." The DPRK just don't have those kinds of subs or munitions.
Methinks we are being deceived. By you know who. Again.

You've obviously misunderstood. Nobody's talking collusion. We're talking setting up a patsy.
We're not talking logic here. We're talking a version of the Samson Option, bait and switch, duplicity and distraction. We're also talking blackmail of the US by Bibi et al. Trust me, it all makes sense when you follow the money. Kim Jong Il is a convenient patsy, pure and simple. In fact I would be a bit surprised if he ascends to the heavens on the same date as his father did in June 1994, adding glory to the patsy status, leaving the dear people of the DPRK to swoon in mourning and be left to the infidels south of the DMZ....or some such fantasy.
Guys, Reuters and The Guardian have these reports independently. I'm inventing nothing, just trying to connect the dots to make some sense out of this weird and sorry saga. I'm prepared to listen to reasoned, thought out interpretations of this news about the sunken boat. Go, by all means, to the sources and come back with your own reasoned conclusions. If you can convince me otherwise, I'm certainly prepared to be swayed by reason. Right now I'm of the opinion, based on what I think I see to be the facts of the case, that the Israelis are, again, up to no good for their own gain. It isn't the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

My experience of citizenship in France is that it is often an experience of everything uncovered, especially this time of the year. But, Sarko has a point. The Republic is a secular establishment, lots of heads-a-rolling in the Place de la Concorde proved that. To France's credit it bans ALL religious symbols in public life, not just Islamic ones. Egalite for everyone, or not at all. Islam was founded in 610 AD, time for an update to the 21st century, especially when the Qur'an suggests modesty in public, not at the cost of social unrest . Folks can do what they like in the privacy of their own homes. In public you're either a citizen or you're not. Ya can't have it both ways.

One word sums this all up, "Nothing." The DPRK has nothing. If it starts a war, it will be left with nothing. If outsiders impose sanctions on it, nothing will get through, and they'll still have nothing. If outsiders do nothing, what will change? Nothing! So, just deprive them the oxygen of publicity, ignore them, and they'll probably do nothing and we'll be right back where we already are. What will have changed? that's right, nothing. Two other word's come to mind: "Rat's Rectum." In other words: nothing.

Madam Secretary, and I use that term specifically, you haven't a clue! The Taliban are on mayor Karzai's doorstep, within line of sight of his Royal Doulton teacups and lace doilies, and he has as little a clue as you do. You can negotiate all you want with Karzai, and you know it's all a front for propping him up as a US puppet President. The US can barely control 14% of the country, and many of those whose rights you claim to champion already live under Taliban rule in rural areas. When the Taliban are not subjugating them, US drones are killing them wholesale. Karzai has zero control in Kabul, let alone outside of the fast crumbling city limits. Waxing poetic about womens' rights is for inside the beltway consumption.
The US is there for oil and opium. That's the fact Hillary.

A story circulating, sorry don't have the link, is that a US helicopter was just shot down using a stinger missile. Serial number on fragments traced to CIA stingers given the Mujahadeen to oust the Soviets. When their birds started falling to stingers it was the beginning of the end. We live in hope. Could a withdrawal be in the cards? As nobody has the stomach for any more bodies coming home, except Cheney's Xe. Overtime pay is always welcome!
