Interesting. You can almost tell from the comments who's been here for more than five years…

An act of children. The rightists of Japan, another group of children, are green with envy…

Well, Haaretz newspaper in israel is pretty much convinced that the country is adrift, and that everyone knows it by now. Even their "Love israel" campaign is backfiring. Good! http://haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1155859.html

Well, just ask the folks in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Somalia for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th opinion about this. Amazing what delusions can happen from the ivory towers in the DC beltway, 350sq mi surrounded by reality!

And Molenir:
Simple: "israel" is built on stolen Palestinian land. Before 1949 there WAS no israel. Most countries are border-defined countries with an armed force. "israel" is an armed force with ever extending borders, never clearly defined, in violation of a total of 272 UN resolutions. If Bibi wants the world to stop referring to israel as a rogue pariah state then it should stop behaving like a rogue pariah state.

The obviously unchecked 1st line reads:
The whole article can be simply summed up in one sentence: "The far right-wing government of Binyamin Netanyahu in Israel majorly sandbagged Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday, demonstrating once again that it has not the slightest interest in pursuing a just peace with the Palestinian people."
And Helter_Skelter,
No it applies to everyone, or to nobody at all. By your definition you have just placed the USA outside that list of civilized nations, rendering and torturing (later proven to be) innocent individuals for no reason other than the whim of a drunken president and his perverted cronies. And please, don't try to sandbag me with Al-Qaeda 9/11 fantasies.

Well, well well, israeli news sources (Haaretz, JPost and the like) are giving Bibi's reaction to Biden's comments. It amounts to "Terribly sorry you feel that way, old chap, so P.F.O. if you don't mind! We're building, like it or not. (Oh! Keep the cheques coming, old boy! There's a good lad.)"

It's getting so long and cumbersome that anyone who ever, even once, looked at a photo of Osama bin Laden will be added to it. Ridiculous!

Firstly, the terms of establishment of israel clearly indicate that it is to be a secular entity, not a Jewish state. Bibi is therefore in violation of that term of establishment. And the Palestinians are not obliged to bow to that threatening demand.
Secondly, israel always ups the anti, by raising the bar and adding more and more conditions each time the previously newly-set conditions are met.
That's right Bibi, when you decide to build more settlements, how can you build trust? Especially now that your engineers are undermining the Al Aqsa mosque while you're chit-chatting with Biden, all the while lying to his face. Trust Bibi? Never!

No point in talking when it's in bad faith. israel is stalling, building more (internationally recognized as illegal) settlements, and thumbing its nose at the world. It will still collect its US$7-17 billion annually though. According to Lieberman the foreign minister, israel "should be seen as an angry dog, too vicious to be bothered with." The word should be "rabid."

Absolute worst: It's a tie between Continental and JAL. Lousy service, inflexible luggage rules and usually filled with folks like Al Bundy and Rosanne Barr, whether American or Japanese.
Best: Swissair and Lufthansa: Large (normal size) seats and leg space in coach. Friendly, courteous staff, usually good pricing and a fair and balanced luggage policy.
That said, traveling used to be fun. Now it's an endurance test.

Your ignorance of history is only compounded by your willingness to advertise the fact. Considering "israel" just celebrated its 60th "birthday" how can you make the declaration that it always was, when it is patently obvious that it is an artificial construct, and an offensive one at that.

That number is optimistic and skewed at best. With an adult illiteracy rate in the US of 45%, (that's illiterate in any language!) by DOE's and DO-Labor's own numbers, it's got to be higher than a 30% dropout rate. Maybe in Martha's Vineyard, but not in Flint, East LA etc etc.

Congratulations to those who got medals. One way or the other they've set themselves apart from the majority of us.
For the rest of the team: Expect the usual deep bowing, musheagegozaimasen's and waterworks at Narita when they all arrive back with some explaining to do! They're 10 Gold Medals short out of 10 Gold Medals.
