"Quite correctly, the Palestinians say there is no point in negotiating while Israel expands the settlements. By the time all these settlement are built on stolen land their "country" will be as big as a postage stamp. Saaid Hariri, "Israel can't claim to be interested in the peace process without doing anything tangible in this regard," (Hariri said,) noting that the Israelis were currently gripped with division. The Lebanese prime minister, who was taking part in an interview with Italian channel RAI News 24 on Friday, added that while "Arabs want peace," Israel only seeks war with "Lebanon, Syria and Iran."

Newt Gingrich: adulterer, drunk and compulsive liar. Yeah, a superb Presidential candidate. Folks get the leaders they deserve!

The three rules of Japanese morality: (1) Do whatever you want. (2) Don't get caught. (3) Deny everything, repeatedly. Any questions? (Who needs Ten Commandments?)

More needs to be done to wipe out the Taliban.

More need to be done to convince America to mind its own business.

With the exception of Dr. Ron Paul, probably one of the very few American statesmen with an ounce of integrity. R.I.P. A dying breed.

I had two 50cc models, and loved them both. I got 176km/l with a clean carb and good fuel mixing. Great bike!

That's the second European government to topple as a result of deciding to back US wars, under whatever guise of liberation. Spain in 2004, now Holland. One of these days "victory" will be defined in Afghanistan, and we'll all know what the heck the fighting was all about. I reckon it's all about oil pipelines to Haifa.

Excellent points, tmarie, bang on the nail. Add to this that the official policy of the NATIONAL Gouvernement de Quebec amounts to linguistic apartheid and cultural ethnic cleansing. Try send your newly arrived immigrant kid to an English speaking school; it's against the law! The have a program to eliminate English from education and all other facets of public life. Vive Quebec Libre! (My astrolabe!)

There is a joke in Vancouver, that it contains the world's longest bridge. The Knight St. bridge, they say, links China (Richmond) with India, the (Southern part of Vancouver City) where a huge Punjabi population lives.

Given that breakdown, French is a bit irrelevant that side of the Rockies. More people speak one of the 36 aboriginal languages in BC than speak French. Sorry to say, but it's the "laine-bleu" in Quebec whining again. What's new?

Fertility and sexual dances are not for kids.

Actually, in the strictest sense, they ARE. Remember, most people were born by accident.

Afghanistan has, and will always be, a place where those empires who do not learn the lessons of history, go to die very painful and public deaths (and debts.)

Cheney was probably the best deterrent to shooting Bush while he was in office. 9-11 happened on HIS watch, and the accounts given under oath by then Transport Secretary Norman Mineta prove Cheney's complicity in the attacks. Time to convene a Grand Jury and put him, Bush and all the other PNACer's behind bars for treason.

Vermont has a bill in the works requiring non-gun-owners to pay a yearly fee of $550 for not taking care of their own self-defense needs, and depending on the Police to do it for them. They are a burden on the public purse.

As a card-carrying NRA & CCW individual, I like that idea. Gun control is a steady hand!

Obama might remember that "Helicopter" Ben Bernanke doesn't determine the value of the U$ Dollar. China does.

How do you say, "Go to Hell!" in Chinese?

Mind your manners, these folks hold what's left of your financial future in their hands. Remember that!

Locals don't appear to happy about these games: Only 50 percent of residents in British Columbia think the Olympics will be positive and 69 percent said too much money is being spent on the Games.

"The most striking thing in the poll is that as the Olympics get closer, British Columbians are less likely to see the Games as having a positive impact," said Hamish Marshall, research director for the pollster, Angus Reid. "Conventional wisdom was that as we got closer to the Olympics, people here would get more excited and more supportive." But public bailouts of Olympic projects have decisively altered the local mood.

    If it would just snow....!

Some fans object to Asashoryu's retirement pay.

Of course they do. He's a foreign born Yokozuna, and even though he's earned it and more, he's not a REAL Japanese! Racism, again, raises its ugly head. They should just drive their big black vans home.
