A Washington Post analysis concluded
The headline is also misleading; Obama did not reject the pipeline; he rejected the arbitrary deadline that the Republicans had imposed. The pipeline may still go through, either in its current form or modified to avoid sensitive aquifers.
One thing I think we should have learned from Fukushima, though, is not to cut corners when it comes to environmental safety. In that sense, I think it was the right decision.

Hmph. Guess he didn't pay attention to that scene in "Top Gun":
Woulda been a real short movie if Maverick's reckless actions ended the same way this captain's did.

To be a "venture capitalist," you need money to venture; Romney was certainly not lacking there. Go ahead and pat him on the back for being the son of a three-time governor and former presidential candidate millionaire Morman doing exactly what was expected of him, but the skids don't get any better greased than his. Really, the question should be, what has Romney ever done to display fitness for the position of presidency besides being born?

What Jong-Nam says (if he really did say it) is rather obvious, but give him credit (again, if the quotes are legitimate): the North Korean leadership scorned is not an adversary to take lightly. I suggest Jong-Nam vary his routine and hire a food tester.

Seriously, Jeremiah? I mean - seriously? You believe that Obama and his supporters do not support America, free enterprise, and liberty? You think that young people do not understand and appreciate what they mean? You believe that, first, the European model is that abhorrent; and, second, that Obama wants to pervert the nature of America?
Well-drunk, that Cool-Aid, my man! The dog whistles were tweeting that a Muslim foreigner communist socialist totalitarian al Qaida supporter was on the verge of violating all that is good in America, all that makes America unique, and you apparently bought it!
The white bread utopia of yore the Republicans allude to never existed, FYI, but have fun mourning its loss anyway. It's easier than charting path to the future.

It's not the prices themselves, it's the huge gap between the expensive and the cheap that I find amazing. Three or four hundred percent price differences for essentially the same item are not uncommon in this country. I've learned to be very selective about where I shop - this store for item A, that store for item B.
It takes a bit of shoe leather, but once used to it, I've found living in Japan to be quite reasonable.

The probably dumped the fuel, shempa. It must have happened on purpose; seats are made from flame-retardant materials, and it takes a bit of effort to get one going.
My first thought was a malfunctioning entertainment system on the seatback.

Molenir, why do you leave yourself so wide open?
This is precisely what Republicans hate about him! (I would say "object," but that implies rationality.)
If you'd absorbed the above exchanges, you would have realized we'd acknowledged this, but thank you for providing that uniquely American expressio
n, "making money." Not making anything of tangible value; not making a profit - "making money." Yes, undoubtedly Romney excelled at that.
Concrete examples would be appreciated here.
Concrete, I said.
Ah! This is more plaster of paris than concrete, but it's a start. Can you name, say, one Obama-instituted regulation that has had a negative effect on the economy?
Okay, I think that this is as concrete as we need to go. Thanks for your input, though.

A "good" CEO is like a "good" dog, yabits - and I mean that with no ill intent. A spitz or a sighthound will act quite differently to stimuli, though they are both being "good." A CEO guiding a growing business will do just what you have mentioned; those dissecting a mature business are in the Bain vein.
My point remains: a good CEO does not necessarily make a good president. The last "business" president the US had (excluding Bush, who rode on his family's coattails) was Herbert Hoover.
