And if true, does this mean that he sexually harrassed one student, that the others were male, or that the others were too embarrassed to complain or that they had no complaint? Or that he only made an advance on this one female?
I would also like to know about this "giving her an alcoholic drink". Was this in a park or at an izakaya? Did she drink on her own or was she coerced?
And finally, is it illegal to make an advance? Since this is university one would expect she is over 18. Or did he threaten to boot her from the team?
Or is this just usual silliness of having a teacher practically dedicate all their free time to the school, and then get all surprised and upset that one turns to a student rather than the aging fugly already married faculty?
As usual, assumptions are just not going to work. And I just don't have enough information to pronounce a judgement. And I am not going to declare this situation should never ever be allowed either because we all know it happens and usually without complaint. Besides, certainly a college age female can take care of herself more than this?

I am completely confused. I can see how this would anger the government, but not the people of Okinawa.
But then, maybe I am guessing the context of the his question correctly (Is anybody?)
And this was a drinking session?? Its bad enough people can't deal with frank commentary, but if you cannot compensate for knowing someone has been drinking, you must live life on head of a pin!

China is still ridiculously behind. Forgive me if I don't have a panic attack.
I think the SDF could take down a Chinese naval attack all by itself, no need of the U.S. military, except to make sure its a perfect skunking rather than lose a couple of Japanese ships.

This nonsense makes my blood boil! Why in the hell should anyone take their debris? Miyagi has vast open spaces no one is using. Few prefectures could claim to be as empty as Miyagi. I pulled up a map. It took about ten minutes to find a place remote and without even a stream big enough to get put on the map nearby. Its called 入森山 and its about 8 kilometers west of a town called 色麻町 ( Iromamachi?) and 4 km north of an SDF practice area. Or somewhere east of that, like 黒森 or 前森. There is whole lot of nothing. Helicopter the stuff there. Deal with your own trash dang it!
Posted in: There are 18 million tons of debris in Miyagi Prefecture that we need to dispose of but sadly we are struggling to find other prefectures that will hep with disposal.

Its not. But as far as that specific action goes, I could make lots of excuses, like having a family that needs me. If that is cowardice to you, then so be it. I will wear the mantle of coward. At least I am brave enough to do that. But here is the thing. Here is the really important part. You ready? Here it comes:
It does not change the fact that I am right about what needs to be done.

If you learn anything from this article, it should be that she did not give a flip about the political crap. She probably chose the U.S. for standard of living alone. She may have also included safety, being as mainland America was nearly unscathed despite heavy involvement in two world wars.
Her residency did not count as support for the U.S. government or America's politics. I don't know why its so hard for people to realIze such a simple truth. Just because I chose to live in Japan does not mean I support everything about this country. And just because I left America does not mean I condemn it utterly.

This is a bit like congratulating someone and looking up to them for having blue eyes and blonde hair. For some, it takes far less effort to be faithful because that is just the way they are. Does it make them better people? I think not. Some great men I admire had affairs. Some great men I admire did not. So I suggest you sweep that nonsense under the rug because you only sell yourself and America short. This attitude threatens to rob us of the next Jefferson, Kennedy or Clinton.
I am not holding any of this against Cain. The sexual harrasment claims run from frivolous to mild assuming any of them are even true. A mistress, if true, is run of the mill and frankly, necessary for some men's peace of mind. But I don't see any proof except for a woman who is either a liar or a selfish witch for spilling the beans, either way I am not going to give her any creedence.
Every American should need to learn this and be able to write it down verbatim on a test to be able to get their high school diploma. America needs to learn what respect and dignity are again, because they seem to have forgotten. I am sick to death of reading about speculation about people's private sex lives, as if it makes a spit of difference to anything of public import. It doesn't. Its just sick and purient interest and doesn't help us at all.

Much ado about nothing? I don't think so. Safety and stability were some of the last concerns in choosing the site at Gorleben.
And when security plans at Gorleben did not go as planned, they just moved the goalpost.

Schacht Asse II is a similar site that is falling apart.

Looking down your nose at a fresh protest is one thing. But this one is old and that should indicate a greater level of care when trying to dismiss it.

On the other hand do you think people do not eventually realize they have AIDS, or that from that point they choose to quietly whither and die? I am sure there is stalling and foot dragging. But I do not believe Japan could have kept a lid on it this long unless the numbers presented are somewhat accurate. Even if the actual numbers were double what is presented, that would put Japan on par with Britain and still far behind the U.S. Its a question of how far you want to deviate from actual numbers and instead go with cospiracy theory and imagination.
Free testing is available in Japan, and while its not nearly frequent enough, if you don't make an appointment early you will often find they are full up.

Israel threatened to strike Iran. Not "if" Iran attacks Israel, but simply to prevent Iran going nuclear. That is not defense. That is an assault.
If you support the assault, then please just call a spade a spade. If you hated me and I tackled you to prevent you walking into a gun shop, no one would accept my plea of self defense. I would be guilty of assault. If the assault can be justified, fine. But its still not defense, not unless you truly believe the Israelis can predict the future.
Iran has attacked no one for hundreds of years. Israel has attacked many. Israel was born of violence and has been violent ever since.
They should have thought of that before taking back the Holy Land! They made their own bed. They are not getting any leeway from me because their situation is difficult.

If Yoda were real, I think this product would be very low on his list of products to promote.
Its an unfortunate waste of a good cultural icon.
But I will admit the commercial was very well made. But I am not the type of person to put the glitz before the message. I would rather poor special effects and Yoda promoting something healthful.

You can get turkey at Costco, among other things appropriate for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Yeah KFC at christmas made me go "huh?" at first too. Its like a poor redneck trailer trash kind of Christmas meal. So I guess it takes me home a bit!
But it was a logical step from turkey to chicken in the absence of turkey. Now its a tradition that has about as much to do with the real Christmas as, say, a pine tree in your living room. It is possible that one day no will know who Santa Claus is, but everyone will eat KFC on Christmas! There is no predicting what direction traditions will go or be taken forcefully by corporations. Remember Santa used to wear green until the Coca-cola company chose red!

Takayuki Ishii, you are a bonehead! Swapping elderly deaths on the sidewalk for quadruple the number of young people dead on the street is what your idiotic idea will get you. In case you don't realize it, this country needs every young person alive to have a future.
This guy is going to lead us out of the frying pan and into the fire!
Strong action is surely needed, but this isn't it.
Depends on your awareness, speed, the particular stretch of road or sidewalk, etc.
Grandmas who cycle slower than I can walk, and wobblier than a drunken monkey do not belong on the street.
Posted in: Not all cyclists are mindful of pedestrians and fatal accidents involving bicycles are on the rise. As the number of elderly pedestrians is expected to increase in the future, we decided strong action was needed now.

Did you imagine that a woman can wear the condom for you? Or do you expect her to put in a female condom? I can say I have even seen one. And I don't want to. I use a standard condom. And I am not telling you this from the perspective of being a "real man" but just as a point of physical reality: the male condom is at least 90 percent the responsibility of the male. Don't call a female careless as she has no practical ability to control a male condom, therefore, she leaves it up to you. She could demand a condom. That would be her little ten percent of control. But from her position she could easily get fooled. So she leaves it you. Just take the responsibility. Its worth it.

I am open to other methods. But if you think the current ones will work eventually, might I introduce you to a commonly accepted definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. If you have a better idea, I am all ears.

The idea is not meant to prove anything, but rather make it deeply felt that permanent storage is needed now. Better a few fat cats get conked over the head for their lax attitude than hundreds suffer from a possible accident in Gorleben for not doing anything wrong, or on the way from France to there. Trains do crash you know.
I am of course willing to give peace a chance. But peace is not working obviously. These protests against these nuclear waste shipments have been going on for at least 15 years now. Enough is enough.
No reason to get violent with the trains of course. Just the fat cats who can't be bothered to part with money to protect the people, and the cops who protect their greedy little behinds. Obviously, they are not listening, so they have to be made to listen.

Pocahantas had an interesting childhood nickname "little wanton". And while most insist it just means she was playful, I have to wonder.
There is nothing but imagination to support the idea that she and John Smith were ever romantic though. Funny thing is that she would have been about 10 or 12 at the time, but it does not even stop Disney from telling the seemingly made-up story, with an age-enhancement of course. What does seem true though is that at that young age of 10 or 12 she risked her own life protecting John Smith from her own tribe.
Although she was previously married to a man of her own tribe, she married Englishman John Rolfe in 1614 when she was about 18 or 19 (or younger, since no one actually knows when she was born, but one account places her about 10 in 1608.) This marriage brought peace, so it seems she saved more lives than just John Smith's.

Good protests. It is bizarre that companies are allowed to build nuke plants, knowingly produce nuclear waste, but not have a permanent disposal plan mapped out after all these years. Its just crazy to ship this stuff to Germany in a temporary storage area until one day they will figure something out.
So while its natural and good that there are protests, I think its time they turned violent. The situation and the protests are old, but nothing changes. Time to throw rocks in the big guys' mansion windows with little notes attached.
