Why North... I would dare to suggest that your criteria is based on looks alone?

But... I'll agree with ya. If I have to listen to the tripe some of these j-ladies put out, they might as well be pleasant to look at.

Yea, give WOMEN OF THE YEAR to some lady you just described as "the other ueno chick". If they deserve WOTY, they deserve to have you scroll up a whopping 3" to find out her actual name and to refer to her as something other than a "chick".

    Like "the softball broad"....

    Just sayin....

POV... no complaints about the job bank and the workers who have been there for MONTHS, and in some cases YEARS, collecting paychecks?

Point being... it is NOT only the senior positions doing the shafting. There are a fair share of lazy-ass american's willing to remain on the dole. They "complain" about not working, but as long as they get paid, they don't do anything. Those that ARE working, aren't complaining about the 70 some $$$ per hour wage, when toyota, etc.. pay 45.

No.... the greed goes both ways. The union caused this, the workers took advantage of the union's strength, and management exploited all of this turn out a crap product and maximum profit.

Let 'em fail. Those jobs can become part of the gajillion jobs the messiah has promised to create.

The UAW caused it... let the union bail them out.

Nowhere near hot. Skinny as a toothpick, can't sing, can't act. She can barely be "half". Not sure what the draw is here, but apparently (and OBVIOUSLY), there is this hidden 'talent' gene that only those of Japanese heritage can see..

This girl has it. As does just about any other bimbo with an album.

DXX... Just to fill you in... Palin was CORRECT about the VP's job. Turns out she was using the old "constitutional" definition of VP instead of that one that Biden trotted out during the debates when he was WRONG.

Sarge, it's obvious your SGI, as only Gakkai members defend the SGI, proclaim it victimless, etc... One other thing I've learned in over 25 years of dealing with the SGI... Don't argue with them, the "human revolution" has confused them on all things, especially those dealing with The Daishonin, Lotus Sutra or NST. "debating" with you will just turn into a negative thing. Not gonna do it.

ELBUD.... Trust me.... Soka University existing in California does not validate the SGI, or even to use the conversation you were having... make them any better than Aum. What it DOES prove is that the SGI is wealthy beyond your understanding.

There is a specific REASON they are involved in politics, and that would be because they can accomplish more as politicians then they can under the SGI banner. SGI is viewed negatively by a large percentage of people. It's just another form of power play.

That IS a lot of money thought. You could buy a 2nd golden toilet for Daisaku Ikeda with that much money.

    Sarge...

The worship of Ikeda is what makes them a cult. Always has, always will. They even rewrote their prayer book to make room for him in with their past presidents. Their absolute devotion to everything that "sensei" says, does, farts, etc... is what makes them a cult. They are almost as devoted as the supplicants of the Obamasiah.

And oh.... by the way... Nikken Shonin has NOT been the head priest of Nichiren Shoshu for more than a year. I think it's time for you to upgrade your SGI provided propoganda.

Blue, don't worry about it. The "losing" they keep talking about? They said the same thing in 2000 and 2004 when polls directly before the elections showed both Gore and Kerry up. See how that worked out for em?

They still can't figure out why spend 150K for clothes, when for just a few hundred thousand more, you could have a Greek Colosseum columns. Clothes to charity is a no-no, but a greek set that is never to be used again is ok...

And they still can't figure out that LIKELY voter does not, and never has, translated into ACTUAL voters. Notice that as we get closer, the lead Obama "had" is getting smaller and smaller....

"Are you better off under George Bush or under the previous Democratic President William Clinton?"

Fact is that the vast majority of americans, making 250k or less a year are paying LESS taxes under Bush than they did under bubba. It's a fact. Head on over to the tax foundation and research it.

OH horsepucky. They have not had a filibuster proof majority, nor have they had a supermajority. The two party system HAS BEEN IN EFFECT for the past few years, allowing the give/take that makes the system work most of the time.

And even if that was the case... your argument doesn't take into account the 20+ times this has been addressed by Bush and the republicans SINCE full blown, veto-proof, control went to the "most ethical" group in history.

It doesn't matter how much you hate Bush or the last 8 years. You would have to be a political moron to not understand the dangers in having a supermajority sharing the same political platform as the President. Especially a socialist like Obama.

That's because it's likely true. You would be surprised what a dedicated soul is capable of doing. Things you and I would NEVER consider they will do if they feel cornered. And they can figure things out amazingly fast.

As far as cells go... remember this... US federal law enforcement agencies (of which I belong to one here in Japan) are just as underfunded, if not MORE so, than any other US government agency. Funds will go towards operations, training, dual-use equipment (think video camera that doubles as recording device for interrogations), etc... long before they go to equipment used soley to monitor a prisoner. Military police not so much, but federal law enforcement... definately. Windfall money ("Hey, look what we got!!") is gonna be used to get things like this, and those windfalls are few and far between.

Part of it is this... You know about this suicide because it's a HIGH NEWS ITEM. JN in a US prison for a long ago murder, etc.. The sensationalism of it is what made it news. Prisoners, for the most part, do not require a suicide watch before they are judged and sentenced. A human guard would cost money for ONLY keeping an eye on him. A camera in each cell would cost money to purchase, install, maintain AND monitor. Not likely to happen in EVERY cell. Some yes, but most? No.

Sad to say... MONEY, or the lack thereof, is the root cause of something like this.

You'll probably find that he is kneeling.

That would take a serious amount of self-determination.

Not correct. Every prisoner can NOT be watched 24/7. Unless there is a compelling need to put a suicide watch on someone, they are left to their own devices and checked on every few minutes.

Secondly, it is NOT as difficult as one would think to use a tee to kill yourself. Rolled up like a rope, they are quite strong, albeit not as long as would be optimum. Wouldn't take much for a dedicated soul to use it anyway.

And ANYthing can be used to hang yourself from. A light fixture comes to mind, bearing that installed items in a cell are usually more soundly fixed than what you find in your home (for the safety of the prisoners and guards). A high bar cross beam would work if it's high enough off the ground.
