I can't believe some people are claiming this will make matters worse.

Well, you know... the killing of pirates is going to boost the recruiting of further pirates.

it was President Obama that gave the okay to use force if the Captain's life appeared to be in immediate danger.

It was Obama that allowed the military to be deployed, but NOT SPECIFICALLY to use force. It is STANDARD MILITARY RULES OF ENGAGEMENT that state a life in danger may be defended, and these do NOT require the concurrence of the CinC. The on-scene commander is the one that made the call to use force.

Obama was correct to deploy the military. Don't try and make it sound like anymore than it actually was.

Negotiating with pirates? THIS is the "smart diplomacy" that the Obama administration promised us?

There should only be 1 set of negotiations. Do you prefer to die via aircraft strike, or would you rather have a missile launched at your dumb butt by a ship?

Sounds like they took "Dr. House" and...

House is a doctor solving medical issues. And there is about a zero chance that Kimura could hold a candle to the acting skills of Hugh Laurie as House. Or even as a musician for that matter.

Sounds more like Numbers..... A mathematician helping solve crimes with the FBI. And... the acting skills of the main characters match!

Reality: Knowing that the bases, due to employment of Japanese nationals, lease rents, etc.. is going to pump "X" billion yen per year into the local economy.

Fantasy: Turning a KNOWN economy booster into a tourist resort, therefore gambling that any seasonal increase in tourism will offset the consistent and annual boost from the bases.

REALITY, PART DUEX: Tossing coffee at the Consulate will NOT achieve your goals, will not further the discussion of your goals, will not do anything but show you to be a complete loon.

I wish a Japan player had stuck a Japan flag on that pitching mound!

That would have ALSO been unsportsman-like. The best response to anything Korea did.... was winning.

Did not you see the Nakajima crushing the head (helmet) of the Korean runner? He was almost killed! totally not acceptable manner. He should put his leg/foot on the mound, not stepping on the runner.

Somebody doesn't play baseball. It's a base, not a mound and he didn't step on him. It required a tag, not simply the base, and when turning from left field after the catch, it would be impossible to gently turn yourself around and make the tag. You swish the glove and you tag the player. It is why most players slide FEET first when there is an obvious slide/play. The player is ALLOWED to make the tag. Heck... it's REQUIRED on that play.

There were not required under the original CRA. These types of loans started appearing after Clinton directed the expansion of the CRA due to low percentage usage. The program was not providing enough community investment (i.e., low income families purchasing homes), so they expanded the rules to basically guarantee more loans IF a certain percentage of ALL loans were loans to low income families.

Remember.. the Clinton's have had absolutely zero luck with the DPRK. The last agreement was violated by the North before the tires left the tarmac.

    Madverts

It isn't fair that the banks, who are as responsible, if not more responsible than the morons now losing their homes that took on credit they couldn't pay for.

You DO realize, don't you, that mortgage lenders were required, BY LAW, to have a certain percentage of loans under the CRA, right? Furthermore, fannie and freddie sole existance was to provide home loans to those OTHERWISE UNABLE TO OBTAIN THEM thru the normal mortgage procedures. Normal = credit worthy with suitable income, etc..

I worked at a real estate brokerage that had it's own affiliated lenders. BUT, our lenders, being part of the Cendant group we were, were NOT required to participate in the CRA without limits. They were able to set their own requirements. Therefore, we did absolutly ZERO NINJA loans, unlike countrywide, etc.. For those unaware, a NINJA loan is a No Income No Jobs or Assets. In other words... nothing needed to qualify for a loan. Welfare payments counted as income for loan purposes, as did the face amounts for food stamps, and any state or federal provided benefits. And this was in HAWAII, where a dual "income" family had annual income of 45k and qualified under FM for a 350k home loan.

There is a REASON that the banks did these loans, and that reason is GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION. Sure, they made money... lots of it. And given the chance to NOT take that risk and therefore not make that money, most of them would NOT have done those loans without the government guarantee.

Yea, yea... the evil corporations made money off the little guy. SO WHAT? The little guy agreed, via legally binding contracts, to pay a 800 mortgage that would ARM to 1750 in 2 or 3 years. And he did it with a 1200 monthly income and food stamps.

If ANYBODY is at fault... it's the school systems that failed to teach these people basic math.

What "home mortgage foreclosure crisis"? It's not a crisis. It's actually REALLY simple.

If you can afford the payments YOU AGREED TO... you pay.

If you can't... you lose your home. The lender takes the home and sells it for what you own on it. Or, the lender can give the home to Obama and he can give each of the homeless their own home.

but if half the women in the world today could accomplish as much in their lives, we would be thankful perhaps

By "accomplish", I assume you mean marry someone famous, spit out some talentless children, and all of you ensure EVERYTHING you ever do mentions the fact that you were married to that famous guy?

Of course, everyone giving Hamas a free pass.

Ask yourself a few basic questions. WHO, if not Hamas, has ANYTHING to gain by lobbing rockets at Israel in disregard of the cease fire? Who, if not Hamas, as the elected officials of that area, ARE responsible for the behavior of the people within their borders.

And lastly... WHY do some people think the non-nutters are "powerless" to stop them. The hell they are. They voted for the government they've gotten, and the government they put in place is the one that got them in this recent position to begin with.

Elections have consequences. The "nutters" are taking advantage of Hamas being in power because the nutters ARE Hamas.

Well, if they want to learn to speak like Obama, that's pretty easy... . 1) Get a writer to write for you. 2) Get a teleprompter. 3) Pray the teleprompter doesn't uh...er.... break.

Here's some family planning for ya... If you can't afford the kid, DON'T GET PG, or have sex if otherwise unable to live with the consequences.

Why must we CONTINUALLY fund to correct the continual mistakes of others? Don't want a kid? Great... don't have sex without protection. Can't afford protection, or the protection doesn't work? Shouldn't of rolled the dice.

But... if you want to kill your fetus? Fine, go right ahead. Most of us aren't against you doing that (although lots are!). We are against you doing it ON OUR DIME.

1.00 will by you the best protection there is. A length of rope to tie your knees together. I'll give you the $1.00 if they promise to stay out of my wallet forevermore.

And of course, before the feminists get all up in arms... rape puts a different spin on this, so don't even try and bring it up - it's a different conversation that does NOT pertain to this topic. There is a world of difference between termination of pregnancy as the result of willingly having sex, and ending up that way due to rape.
