Yabits, who you kidding? Quit acting like everything Obama says has something of deeper meaning than EXACTLY what it says. WORDS HAVE MEANINGS, and if you INTEND TO SAY what Keyne's said, he should have said exactly that, instead of what he actually said. See how that works?
But... let's assume for a minute (a short one), that you are correct. What you are expecting from those that were listening is that THEY understood him. You do realize that, at this moment in time, we have the most ignorant electorate in history, right?
Of course history, reality, and most INTELLIGENT Americans are beyond the grasp of folks like Obama and his supporters, as Yabits comment and each comment of Obama, so ably demonstrate.

Why are ALL the "-ist", or other stupid "awards", always represented by the most vapid twits they can find?
One get jewelery so NOW she has to behave as a mature person? At 25, shouldn't you being doing that ANYWAY?
They aren't even MARRIED, and this is a stunt to "stimulate" the bridal jewelery market? Here's an idea..
give you jewelery to some high octane, famous, actor who is GETTING READY TO PROPOSE, or to a couple that has JUST GOT MARRIED. Let them use that ring in some sort of setting where they describe how the wedding ring (and this is ANY wedding ring) is a symbol of blah, blah, blah...
And then, at the end, have them say something along the lines of "And these rings, from dogturd jewelers, represent ALL that.... and more" or some other equally vapid crap.
It's better than letting them "freelance" with their comments.

Yes, yes... his speech.
"We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished."
Translation for those who voted for Obama: THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE ECONOMY ARE STRONG.
Sound familiar?

If the "international community" truly gave a crap, they would give Israel exactly what it has been asking for. Israel's been saying it for years, and nobody has tried to pressure the "peaceful" Muslims to QUIT LOBBING ROCKETS.
Easy, huh? That's all they ask for besides the right to exist, and if HAMAS quit the rockets, there would be no fighting. But that isn't what Hamas wants. They want IT ALL...
And for those of you that think the peace loving Gazan's truly care, maybe you should look up not only the "platform" that Hamas ran on during the "elections", but the HAMAS charter as well. For those that are unaware, this political organization of Hamas has part of their charter as the death of ALL Jews. It talks about their land being coast to coast and the removal of ALL Jews. And they are pretty specific that "removal" means death.
Yes, there are some deluded people, but those supporting Israel are NOT among them.
And for all you "experts" out there, popped smoke is EASILY misidentified as white phosphorus by those that don't know any better (like any MSM or liberal peackniks... but I repeat myself). Maybe the weapons expert unscrejects would be so kind as to tell us WHY that is, and how the shells are similar, yet obviously different for those that actually look at them.

Damn straight some of us approve of it. Where was your high and mighty butt when rockets were being lobbed into Israel? You didn't have anything to say then, why pipe up now?

Ok... you know life has gone all helter skelter when the cell phone girls start to look better than the car girls.
By the way, those aren't "vroom-vroom curves".... those are putt-putt angles. Too many miles put on those engines. If those engines were worth displaying at a car show, the wrap wouldn't be there.

Question.... how does paying for something make that specific "something" less?
Does it quit becoming 'carbon' after it is paid for?
Assuage your guilt all you want, but please try and leave the rest of mankind alone with this nonsense.

kkoobcam, obviously you've never read the Hamas Charter. THEY call for the elimination of all Jews...
It's NOT us making this up... it is in their organizational charter.

Here's an idea... carpet bomb the place. Then BOOM. No more rockets into Israel.
Problem solved. Or, they could simply STOP lobbing rockets into Israel to begin with and avoid the military action. Nahh, they won't do that.

OH BOO HOO. "THEY" don't say Hamas calls for the destruction of Israel... HAMAS says it themselves.
You know what is utterly ironic? The nutbag militants got their start several years ago by hooking up with the Nazi's. And now... the Nazi's victims are gonna take it to them. Poetic Justice, that's what it is.

People, people, people...
If you're gonna discuss land borders, you need to take it up with the United Nations. NOT Israel.
If you're gonna discuss violence, you need to take it up with Hamas, and the people that voted this KNOWN militant group into power. Besides... what did Hamas promise the people during this 'vote'??? More Land. Back to the United Nations.
If you're gonna discuss self defense, THEN we start discussing Israel. The land is a UN issue, and the Palestinians are a Hamas issue (and vice versa). After all.. you get EXACTLY what you voted for.
Time to pay the piper.
Moonbeams... "because all this is going to accomplish is inspire the next generation of militants." Using this logic, I expect to see Israeli's in suicide belts pretty soon. After this many years of violence directed at them, they should be all a tither trying on the new ronco-matic explosive belts. So... why do the Israeli's, the one's the left consider warmongers, coldblooded and the violent ones, NOT have individuals acting out with belts and shooting rockets into schoolyards?
It's called civilization. If the liberals TRULY want that globalism thing, they need to get on the ball and teach their hero's to play nicely with the rest of the civilized world.

And why, pray tell, do you believe that Israel feels the need to do so? Why do you care so much about one side but, totally and completely, appear to care less about the unaimed rockets shot into areas populated by nothing other than Israeli civilians? In other words, why is it only the Palestinian civilians that you care about?
With any luck, Israel will NOT stop the rockets until the message gets thru. They've been trying for years to make them understand....
1) QUIT lobbing rockets over the border at us, and 2) Recognize our right to exist. 3) That's all. NOTHING else required.
Hell, even if they didn't do #2, odds are pretty good that #1 would be sufficient.
If you can dig tunnels all under the place in Gaza for militants to get all over the place, you obviously have the ability to work on your INFRASTRUCTURE instead of your rocket lobbing capability and hidey holes. Give a crap about the quality of life instead of destruction of the Jewish state, and you would be 200% ahead of the game.
If ANY of your points in negotiations/goals is a "Jew free..." area, you are obviously not worried about "peace" as it is known throughout the world. And to make that a goal against the people who have known TRUE attempts at genocide is folly, at best.
If your supporters in Ft. Lauderdale Fl, of all fricken places, are chanting "back to the ovens" or any other thing like that (and they are), your supporters are obviously not interested in "peace" as it is known throughout the world.
If you turn a mosque into a weapons cache, don't start whining like a baby when it gets blown up.
If you hide your military weapons among ANY civilian population areas, you need to let it go when they get killed because YOU started some crap your not capable of finishing.
Quit blaming the Jews for defending themselves.
Welcome to the real world. The Arab's may be able to cause every other "progressive" nation in the world to capitulate to their every need, but they aren't gonna do it with Israel.
And more power to 'em.

Apec,
Who cares, and what is the relevance of, who is supplying arms to either of the sides? Everybody, at least most people, know that the US is the main supplier of arms to Israel. Most people also recognize that Iran, Hezbollah and others of their ilk are supplying Hamas. What does it matter.
By showing that the US is supplying weapons, does that somehow strengthen the very weak argument of the Arabs that Israel is just a puppet of the US? Or does it strengthen the "code pink" argument that it is actually the US somehow causing these conflicts in pursuit of our control of the M.E.?
Both, and just about any other point that concerns US weapons, are complete and utter rubbish. The Arabs hate the Jews because they are Jews, and they feel that the Jews have stolen their land. It certainly doesn't help that the US supplies, but it is also not a huge factor if you apply some common sense. They look for ANY reason to hate the Jews, and absolutely ANY REASON AT ALL to hate the US.
And before anybody's BDS kicks in - they've hated us long before Bush, either one of them, came into office. Since the days of the Barbary Pirates, they've looked for reasons to hate everyone that is not like them, not willing to capitulate to their every demand, or stands in their way. The form of battle may have changed, but the overall goal has not. Complete and total submission to them.

There are many things that need to be taken into consideration if we are gonna try and decide Bush is the worst.... Some of it required him to simply react to situations outside of his control, others were within his control...
No other Prez had to deal with a massive terrorist attack on US soil from a group with a radical agenda. Not a country, but a group. Difficult to go to war with a "group".
The financial collapse. Yes, Bush was president when it occurred, but it occurred because of policies put in place by Carter, expanded by Clinton and all attempts to regulate the industry fought off by the democrats. Yes, the right normally isn't big on regulation, but in this specific instance, they saw it coming and tried.
Trying to execute above war in a flawed manner. Right intent, wrong country. This IS the fault of Bush.
A democratic party intent on fighting him tooth and nail on EVERYTHING, regardless of 'right or wrong'. He was/is so despised that he's been a lame duck for quite a while.
Too damn many RINO's professing support. Hell, he's a RINO himself most of the time.
A right wing radio and blogosphere that, while supportive to a degree, demanded more "conservative" actions from him (as would be desired from a true conservative), thereby turning the base away from him for the most part. Another of those things that is Bushies fault.
