I doubt JAL or any other Japanese carrier will be flying in blue skies in the next five years. ANA may be in a slight better situation than JAL, but they are not up to open competition from US, European or other Southeastern carriers such as Singapore or Thai Airlines.…

as the crow flies - I am really sorry for your husband and all the honest Peruvians working in Japan. However, most Peruvians I know have false documents. So, it´s really hard for the J-officials to give them a proper visa, it they don´t have proper documents.

Flying out of Japan to any destination with JAL is the most expensive way currently. My web research showed me that if I want to go to Rio or Sao Paulo, any US or European carrier is at least 20,000 yen cheaper than JAL. Plus, the luggage limit is tighter…
