Not sure it was worth the risk for mere 9 million, I mean, if you are trading LV goods. Fakes are much easier to sell, people are not afraid of wearing fake anymore and they will buy fake if they can't afford (or think the original is not worth the price). I wonder who is buying luxury brands these days in Japan.

Experience taught me it's worth investing some money on a high-quality carry-on. Check if these are Made in Japan - they are really good. And I don't know if you have traveled lately, but air carriers are becoming more and more bitchy about the 23 kg limit. I had a problem with JAL at the check-in counter, for 24 kg - just 1 kg beyond their limit.

I am really anxious to see "Predators" with Adrian Broody, the sequel of "Predator" 1 and 2. Being a fan of SF, 2010 will be a great year, "Wolfman" too is on my list.

This is pathetic. The whole world knows that Israel is a brutal, savage state which has no respect for anyone. Why would they think that turning Israel from a pitbull into a guppy on TV would change the world perception?

fact is...Japan is not a sexy place, with sexy people (the natives, I mean), or have a sexy atmosphere.

ChrisBiggins, as I said before, if you are smart, leave Japan ASAP - if you're there. Not only you will have to pay their retirement cheks, you will also have to live with narrow-minded J-people, as we see here.

I think this is a Japanese problem, let them face it. Soon the check-out tax will be raised from 5% to 10% and wait more to come - let their youth pay the bill. In the meantime, if you are a smart guy, leave Japan ASAP. Instead of paying their retirement checks, pay yours at home.

God, Egrover!, what a story. I have heard terrible things foreigners have experienced abroad, but yours topped them all. But you are a smart, very smart, leaving Japan ASAP when these men went looking for you. Thank God you are safe in US. I wonder about all those missing foreigners in Japan.

An insider point-of-view: Me and my boyfriend have been together for 5 years now, we don't really care about the religious aspect of our same-sex relationship. We don't need a priest or a church to bless our lives, we ask this directly thru our prayers to the Lord. On the other hand, we do wish we could have the same legal rights hetero couples are entitled to. We have now assets evaluated around US$ 200,000 which won't go directly to one of us should something happen to the other half. In this case, the remaining one will have to deal with the other's family - which is a recipe for confusion, for sure. Just a curiosity about same-sex marriage: we have realised that those same-sex couples (friends of ours) who really want to get married inside a church, or with the presence of an religious "authority" are the ones which are clearly heading for a future divorce. They are unstable, they childishly fancy marrying, they lack maturity enough to carry their relationship without the unnecessary blessing from a third part. So, I am totally for a legal aspect for same-sex couples, but I am not so sure about the religious one.

The same traumatic experience three times: alone or with foreigne friends, police stopped us inside the huge JR Towers arcade beside Nagoya Station, based solely on our blond or different complexion. A lot of stupid questions, some of my friends got really aggressive with all the questioning in English or Japanese, as if we were fleeing Interpol in our own countries. The last time I was really sharp and aggressive in Japanese, which caused them to apologize and let me go. The traumatic aspect is the 1,000 or so pedestrians who stop to watch police treat you very as the "very dangerous gaijin". If Japanese citizens won't make you feel a fish out of water, police will. It's my motto. It's one of the reasons I list to my friends for not visiting Japan.

Perhaps in Mr. Giuliani's mind, 9/11 wasn't an attack, it was just, sorta, an unhappy event. Sad man.

He may be Japanese after all. Some years ago a Japanese men learned some Spanish sentences, and would speak some of them while pointing a gun to Circle K clerks - who would describe him to police as a "foreign of Japanese descent speaking Spanish". Of course, all Spaniards and Latin Americans became suspects within minutes, only to be dismissed as innocents when he was caught and his plot unveiled. Shame!

Yes, it will be. But we can only guess how it will be. Since this is an exercise of guessing, IMO Japan will be a huge UV-blocked tent, given what is happening to nature nowadays. Well, not only Japan, but all other countries too.

US$ 529 for something I can comfortably live without?? No, thank you, sir. People may complain, but Apple gadgets really rule. I can't see someone choosing Nexus over Iphone. Perhaps Nexus next generations will make it worth, but right now it's just junk.
