Global warming is here to stay, faster or slower it's here. We better adapt ourselves fast (if I had a house by the beach, I'd move it to higher grounds), get used to hotter days. It is a tragedy our grandsons will inherit from us.

Worried: it does reflect well on Obama, his popularity jumped to 56%, 9 points overnight.

Another key detail with this tsunami was that it hit the coast only 5 minutes after the quake. I guess that many of those who died inside their cars were not fleeing, but working, going to the supermarket. They may have endured the quake inside their cars, only to be swallowed by the wave 500m ahead.

Dear or alive, US gov't can't expose him now as a trophy. Or risk making bin Laden a martyr or another victim of US-Israel friendship. Obama is way too smart to show videos or photos of him now.

I didn't vote. For the other current energy options could be even worse than the nuclear: coal, for instance, is 100% polluting.

A little off topic, but I have a question for you British guys: when the new King is enthroned, will national anthem "God Save The Queen" changed to "God Save the King" ? Does it change everytime there's a change a new King/Queen?

I really can't remember a product to beat iPhone or iPad that most people in the world want to buy, or already have one. Perhaps, Sony's first Walkman caused a fever similar to iPhone.

@tclh: 1) William is not found of jewelry - which is quite common, I don't like to use rings too - so they concerted he would not use a ring. 2) In royal functions, women use hat to give the occasion an air of required formality. Men, in royal functions, usually are wearing military, some have hats, but unlike their wives, if they wear a hat it would make them "in service".
One word comes to mind when I think of their wedding: decency. I liked their sense of duty, him being a true gentleman, she, a lady we don't see anymore these days. It was really nice watching it.

I agree with Miamum. Why not join them in their happiness? They're so happy and so nice. And they're what will inspire our children, and they're a good example. I wish my sister would marry wearing a decent gown like hers, not half naked with shoulders and boobs jumping on-your-face, as we see in most weddings. Britain has something that is not much appreciated these days, but it's one of the most important heritages a country may have: tradition. That's what this wedding is all about, I think: you see history, past and present happening right before your eyes. I couldn't help but google the Royal Family history. It's fascinating. I was lost for hours reading about etiquette, gaffs and "do"s and "don't"s. Fascinating, indeed. May they live in happiness.

As I wrote before, Apple gadgets are as essential as LV bags, Ferragamo shoes. They're not devices anymore, they're object of cult. You see lines everywhere when Apple releases new versions of anything. I know I'll stand in a queue when iPhone5 is out.

Later this year, meaning 7, 8 months ahead? By that time, Apple would have released Iphone5 and Ipad3 would be making the news. Not a smart strategy by Sony.

I guess you four above haven't been to Thailand yet. Any time of the year you walk Bangkok's streets you see Japanese tourists. Thai gov't may have 3-11 on their minds, but this 90-day thing will benefit people from every region of Japan, even those far from Fukushima.

What you guys missed is the influence that this wedding is and will cause worldwide, it's a mix of history, politics, economics. Something that UK needs urgently. What best way of showing the world how powerful UK was once, and still dreams it is, but by a majestic wedding?

I think that now, in the heat of the moment, everybody will not to this tax, because it has a humanitarian make-up. But, in the long run, it will cause serious damage to the already shaken Japanese economy. My bet is that now Japanese will save their pennies even harder than before. They do something to stimulate domestic spending, instead of creating taxes.
Posted in: The government is considering the introduction of a new tax to finance the huge costs of reconstruction in the Tohoku region following last month's earthquake and tsunami. What are your thoughts on such a tax?

I think the one who left after 3/11, they had this wish to leave Japan sooner or later. They are not the ones who see themselves retiring in Japan. And they have their free will, what best time to use it than during a quake-tsunami-radiation time? I do support those who stayed, that's their wish. But if asked, I would say: stop day-dreaming and leave Japan, asap.

I tried, then I started feeling a neurotic teenager full of acnes having to write so many unuseful things about unimportant events to unknown people who are doing the same thing. I gave up after one month, after I realised I was de-learning and getting empty. I returned to my books in a shock treatment. Facebook too, made me feel awkward, like holding a horrible drink in a boring party where you have to smile blandly to everybody, wave your hands to the same people every two hours, and people keep talking about things you don't care. Internet is great, but it should not replace LIVE social meetings.
