The guy who sits next to me but is never there. Others who have to see him always come up to me to ask where he got off to, of coures I don't know. He's busy hiding from them and the world. When he is there he smells bad, talks about stupid stuff and has bad ideas about work-- like total non-seqiuters. (He is foreigner expat btw).

Why all this name-calling? Why the use of this word-- terrorism?! It's so... dirty.

So the sea shepherd ppl like whales a whole lot. The sonan maru pply like to eat whales a whole lot. Well, they're paid to get them for ppl who like to eat whales, or more specifically, to do research to determine the viability of returning to commercial whale hunting, and while they're at it, eat a few. (so complicated)!

So, the ppl who like whales and the pple who like to eat whales are naturally having a disagreement about it and something has to be done. So... They have a fight! Because of various intntnl laws and national interests, they can't actually kill each other, unfortunately. (No I am not a fan of killing, just if they could kill each other it would be over quicker). So they have to do annoying and almost- dangerous things to each other. Let's be clear- the whalers don't really care about the sea shepherd. The sea shepherd is searching out the whalers. Then the whalers have to do something to get the sea shepherd away so that they (whalers) can finish their job they were sent to do.

agressors- sea shepherd joining in the fight- sonan maru terrorists- where? I don't see any

Stop silly name- calling. It's a fight between ppl who want to fight.

Sorry you couldn't find them. Maybe if you look at one of her regular pix using your special NIGHTVISION you could see something.

What I saw wasn't photoshopped, straight topless pix. Why? She's had her pick of Ojisans for years since she was a teen I forget if she did the old telephone club or did enjokosai (prostitution) or just picked them up on the street, but she was sleeping with lots of older men like a maniac since she was a kid so presumably she knows what she likes. Her hubby is apparently a world-famous DJ, I don't really know the DJ world, but she used to go to his clubs/ shows a lot, then started depending on him a lot... He's also famous and liked by millions of anonymous ppl. So's she. etc...

Bholder- considering ikebukuro is a metro area and you know neither the girl nor the photographer the moment is probably gone. I would consider erasing the photo you took w/o showing it to anyone, as you could be prosecuted for taking an upskirt photo yourself, if the girl's legs are showing, esp underwear.

Apparently rules have been changed several times for international tournaments so it's harder for Japanese to win. I know what everyone's going to say, but this is what I heard. The fabric of the new regulation Judo gi makes certain grips harder, and other rules about throws and points. The problem is Judo is a national sport here, originated here and so it is done the Japanese way here and they are strong in international tournaments, just because they have a big population doing it from a young age. However other countries have smaller leagues and a change in rules for international tournaments doesn't affect them much because the smaller league will quickly change all their rules to match international rules. In Japan at all the schools they keep doing it old rules, Japanese rules, then when intnational competitions come along, they have less ppl used to those rules.

Baths are great here. I am male and I do have male friends, and really only a very small percentage are overly uncomfortable about going to a public bath. Most everyone wants to go in my experienc, and after going liked it and want to go again.

OK confusing point and not at all mentioned in the article so I will clarify for any newbies to J bathing-- there are 2 TYPES OF BATHING: onsen and sento.

ONSEN are hot springs bubblin up from vulcanically heated underground. They have many types of minerals and are often thought to be good for curing this or that ailment. They are sometimes clear water, sometimes murky white or red or brown from the minerals. You usually stay at a ryokan/ hotel to enjoy an onsen, but onsen towns will usually have public bathing facilities where you can pay, bathe and leave, w/o paying for staying overnight. Some hotels will let you do that for that matter. You may find jets, salts, denki (electric bath) etc in an onsen, but you may not. Onsen means volcanic hot springs.

SENTO is a public bath with just hot water in them. You don't stay overnight. This is from the days when most houses didn't have baths in them and all in the neighborhood would go to the local sento to bathe. Normal water, no mineral properties, but there will often be a denki (electric) bath, a cold water bath a jet bath etc. Sento are often in old buildings that have a lot of atmoshpere, and are really only left in big cities these days, Tokyo kyoto osaka etc. Now that everyone has bath at home, sento are closing down at a high rate.

TO (slightly) COMPLICATE THINGS (for foreigners) if a hotel has a public bath in it for all the hotel customers that does not come from mineral hot springs, it will be referred to as a sento. Neighborhood folks are generally not allowed, ie only stay-over customers, and it is there because the shower unit in your room is thought to be small or it is non-existant. Furthermore in Onsen towns where there is a public bathing facility where you don't have to stay over night those are often called sento. So sento can sometimes be onsen and onsen can sometimes be sento.

Anyway all new to or coming to Jpn should check out bathing culture. It is very cool and relaxing. I go to the local sento every night.

@yabits Each can costs approximately 1 dollar. So I guess multiply them figures by 3. There are vending machines half-filled with many varieties of canned coffee here ever 2 minutes (walking distance).

It's probably debt. Lots of people are upt to their necks in it and it's probably the main reason why most suicides happen. Either to get away from the collection agencies or to save their families from it.

He's a good actor, tho once in awhile he's in bad/mediocre movies. His best movie (I think) no-one seems to have heard of, Deadman. (Jim Jarmusch dir). Check it out. Even in Japan some tsutaya stores will have it.

minello- This is a good example of corporatist Japan, meaning not a corporation, but a body, a unit composed of smaller units. The other workers/entertainers feel as though members of the group, and therefore have some say to how the group makes decisions or the direction of the group, co-ownership etc.

This is the way things work everywhere. It is enjoyable to see the curtain pulled back and glimpse the true inner workings of society/ organizations/ government once in a while.
