"It is not like everybody knew that this would happen."

You're right willi, who'd a thunk Egyptians would vote for Islamists! Next the deceitful liberal media will be trying to convince us Egypt has an 80% population of muslims! And we all know Obama started the arab winter, this is just the next part of the dhimitude plan for ISLAMIC world colonization now they have a muslim in the oval office!!

    Heh, tin-foil hat removed...

    serano,

"How about if the Muslims confine themselves to their beliefs and leave everyone else alone?"

When you start lobbying the Jesus freaks or those annoying Jehova's in your own country then I'll retract calling your claim hypocritical. Here, I'll rephrase it for you:

"How about if the Religious of all walks of life confine themselves to their beliefs and leave everyone else alone?"

    Bingo....

"Didnt say that Madvert, stop making strawman arguments."

    Where's the strawman exactly?

I imagine the comment that has you riled is the one directed to our old friend up there muttering about "Mohammedism." And besides, the comment had the desired effect as it scampered off once again.

"When you see the Christian Brotherhood getting a third of votes in the US, then you have something to argue about. Until then, the supremacy of secular politics and social values is still supreme."

What Christian Brotherhood? Again, if you think the US is laïc or that you think that Christianity has no premordial bearing on a US presidential election then you are living in la-la land. My point is valid, even though the two countries are clearly incomparable.

Come visit France and you'll see the glorious seperation of church and state. Religion is treated how it should be, like a sex fetish. Indoors or in designated areas, and don't push it on others.

"Supercars my rear end. Expensive, that's all. A supercar would be, for example, my old AMC Gremlin."

I know who's rear end I'd rather be looking at, and it would beany of these Italian wild-childs, not yours young man. Even a smashed-up Ferrari retains it's class.

The AMC Gremlin stands on a par with Citroen's 2 CV for being the design worlds' "Why" of the century.

    Sickening destruction.

I've no doubt these are simply another case of rich people that can't drive getting behind the wheel of a super-car.

There should be a special permit for anything above 300bhp. These people are a public danger.

" I remember a certain hopeful in the Democrats in 2008 who actually fathered an illegitimate child, while his wife was dying of cancer...."

Yeah pretty bad, pretty low. But this isn't the nineties. Whilst the conservatives certainly hold no scandal monopoly, Ted Haggard, Mark foley or even Larry Cariag set the Republican scandal bar at lower than ever seen before. We've come to expect JUICE, drug-fueled, gender bending swinging scandals, not some boring old dude that might have groped the staff and simply had an affair....

    "The comparison is ludicrous"

Nor does every Muslim want to live in the stoneage as willi or Unregistered would have you believe.

If you're attempting to say the US is by any means laïc, or that it has no bearings in a US election for example, then that truly is ludicrous.

Egypt has something like a 80% muslim population. Anyone thinking that Islamic parties, especially after being banned for thirty years, would not come out well in a muslim country should stop smashing those two remaining brain cells together.....they will never get a spark.

"well then, adverts, it seems you, like sushisake3,horserfella,yongyang and smithinjapan will just have to vote Obama when the virtual elections come online"

You've been using that as a bow-out "argumen"t for as long as I can remember. I won't be voting as you well know, but I can still have an opinion. And the truth remains as to why candidate Cain just went down in flames.

If this were a democrat candidate you'd be unable to stop your left leg from involuntary spasms. You know, maybe I think you actually have what it takes to be politican afterall!

"The only real choice for conservative voters in this presidential election is: which politician do you wish to be sold out by?"

Bah, politicians selling out isn't a conservative monopoly sushi. Every single one of them world over is a scheming, self-centred git that will sell us all out as soon as he's elected.

"Cain was doomed from the start"

That's the only bit you got right old friend.

He was doomed from the start because of skeletons in the closet.

It isn't a leftist conspiracy with Obama's Chicago bogey-men running around with bodybags. Heh, you and willi should get together over a root beer some time, iron out the conspiracies and get them a little far-fetched. The whole defense of this man certainly reads like yet another massing of strange furry rodents massing at the presipice......

"trumped-up accusations by the democrat activist media."

willi you never fail to crack me up. If you can't blame Islam then blame Obama and if that doesn't work blame the media.

The media works by selling stories, the jucier they are the better. Political affiliation means nothing to them when there's a sexy story. Had the democrats put forward such a candidate he's be getting equal treatment for such alleged attrocious behaviour.

And let's face it, we all like to see hypocrites fall. I find the lack of pure scandal in Mr Cain's allegations a tad disappointing to be honest. Back in the W Bush years they were infinitely more newsworthy and hilarious.

"Seriously, in what world do you live in where a guy with a net worth of 190 million is an idiot?"

All depends on how any individual came to have said net worth I imagine.

Being a good business man does not necessarily mean you would be a good politician.

My Cain isn't an idiot - his problem is his alleged groping past, and the recent allegation that he's been having a "sexual" affair with another woman for 13 years. Not good attributes for any politician, let alone one standing for the highest office in the US riding the GOP's moral christo-train.

Man JT's band of hardcore right-wingers sure know how to rally behind a loser, and defend that loser right to implosion as they are here. If Cain has bowed out there must have been some truth to some of the allegations. And for him to do so now could mean the storm isn't yet over.

I'm not saying every serving Republican politician is the hypocrites that some of them are, but let's face it, for a party that claims to be christian family values the last decade has seen some pretty slimy scandals be it from extra-marital sex to Wide Stancing it in the mens room......

If the brighter elements in the GOP had anything about them they'd splinter the party and get rid of the extremists and the stagnant 2 party system.

    willi,

"Does Obama feel proud yet about his "democratic" success in Egypt?"

Obama? He encouraged the Egyptian's to revolt against thirty years of autocratic rule?

I remember back in the day when you at least tried to make your conspiracy theories credible.

You and old friend might not like the results of the elections, but the facts are the first elections have just been held in Egypt, and the people have spoken.

Blaming Obama (WTF?), or breathless and paranoid snipets, usually quoted out of context from the Koran aren't going to change this.

    Heh....

It's kinda painful to see that this article has brought forward 69 comments, but the faxct is this man puts proverbial bums on seats.

W really is the American Jeremy Clarkson - love him or hate him he has one of these effects on people like the afore-mentioned. There can be no middle ground.

I was in my early twenties when W was braying for war and I guess I really hated the man for pissing on traditional US allies and all the other stuff that there's no further need to go into. But now I realize I hated what he stood for whilst the man himself is nothing more than a brand if you would, a brand in US politics.

It really is time to get over his contraversial presidency and poor performance. Everytime the guy gets a million bucks per speech he's peeing on AI and this current line of publicity generation.

Like everyone here has said - Bush is a saint compared to any African tin-pot dictator.

Willi you sound more paranoid than ever. That's not surprising I guess since everything as per your usual anti-islamic propaganda that went ballistic with the up-heavel in the Arab world has not turned out like you were predicting...

...peaceful elections in Tunisia, turmoil in Egypt but dammit it's being boycotted by the islamists (seriously I feel your pain there) and Gadaffi's human rights abusing ass in a sling.....

And then there is the fact that the Moroccan king only held these elections as a by-product of the Arab Spring.

Probably best to ignore all that, and blame the MSM for no explaining that a moderate islamic party in an islamic country is all part of the cover-up. Heh...
