"Wonder what is he going to try to mandate next on all of us whether we like or not "

Coming from the far right that's amusing to say the least, Sail. Nobody is being forced to take the pill, the reasons for making it freely available has been explained above. Orphanage, welfare and correctional facilities cost the state a gazillion times more than this, you should be happy for the economy instead of using any excuse to bash Mr Obama.

And besides, religion is a private matter for those that indulge in the fantasy. It should be excluded from ALL government.

"What I don't understand is why it should be free (=paid for by somebody else). "

The answer is in the first part of your post. Those that generally breed irresponsibly are un-educated poor people. And the cost of rasing the irresonsibly bred (who go on to do the same themselves) and the inevitable cost of moving them in an out of correctional facilities when they grow up is much higher than giving them free contraception.

"Why not make botox, boob jobs and penile enhancements free, too?"

    Because that doesn't make sense.

"Iran has no problems with NATO countries so far"

Other than a mad dash to get a nuclear weapon. Trivial n'est ce pas?

"them as getting a major kick out of being contrarian pains in the ass."

It's the only program in regards to everything full-stop since the radicalized right-wing became a screaming, embittered minority after Geedub. Heh, the way it should be.

"They could make a good team..."

I agree. Repub presidents always need a war. Reagan's War on Drugs. Result. Bush's War on Terror. Result.

Maybe these two could have a War on Sodomite. After all, it's probably only practiced by poor people and liberals. Heh, give me a break.

Thnaks for clearing that up sushi, many of us were un-sure of your stance towards conservatives.

"So maybe this particular incident is some kind of misguided outreach program for Afghanistan?"

The US military is training Afghan's to kill Jews?

"However the big difference is that the US military tries to portray itself as the defenders of good and innocent"

And some of the time they are defenders of good and innocent, cletus. It's true for any group be it army or a sewing class - a small group of individuals doing something stupid has a negative effect on the group as a whole.

What most people on the thread have ignored is that it was the military themselves that have come forward to announce the photo incident, and to use it as evidence of what no to do in training.

I'm not sure where the problem is really, other than the obvious cheap-shot at the US military.

    "Finally, love Hunter S. Thompson."

Me too Laguna, thanks for the memories.

Anyone who has driven under the effects and survived of a mixture of LSD, cocaine, amphetamines and whatever else they were tootin' at the same time is either bloody lucky, or super-human. Especially back in they day when purity was king.

"That's some real great foreign policy in action on his part with our close neighbor to the North."

Sailwind this is about the US and contraception. China and Canadian bilateral agreements be damned, get a grip of yourself man.

"It is maybe to counter the high rate of teenage pregnancies that occur each year"

It only makes sense to encourage contraception and responsible breeding. Catholics should give their head a slap and realize it would reduce abortions for accidental pregnancies.

Prescription drugs also alter perception. Most of the pensioners are buzzing off their mind out here in France causing accidents.

"A 2007 study in Scotland found 15% of 537 drivers aged 17 to 39 had used marijuana within 12 hours."

I thought weed stayed in the blood and sweat for months, even after simply standing next to someone smoking it?

My own experience is that it actually slows you down to old granny speed and makes you paranoid as hell about an accident - which helps to adjust for the loss of reactions. I'm not condoning it but I fail to see how the test was accurate.

"But in this case I thinks obvious DSK attacked the maid and the way the courts work is whacked."

Bah they're both guilty. Money-grubber VS dirty rich old porc.

And besides guys, a "DSK" button wouldn't have helped the maid as by her own testimony she didn't report it immediately and went off to clean other suites.

They should both be tried for wasting police time and, well at least in Strauss Kahn's case, giving pots of money to the vultures known as lawyers.

Apparently the film is already in the offing. Derpadieu as the dirty old pervert and Adjani as his missus. Who is ugly enough in Hollywood to play the money-grubber is my only question?

"Yes they have nothing to do with Egypt, your correct, though considering numerous events in 2011, one can compare between the countries as to how they treat their civilians in hostile situations."

The only thing similar with Syria is a popular uprising amidst the Arab Spring. It ends there.

Murbarak didn't have the stomach to slaughter his own people to the extent Gadaffi or Assad. Nor did he have the backing of the military.

One thing they do all have in common is large amounts of the masses being un-educated and living in abject poverty. Perfect fodder for being coerced into senseless voilence or worse, being recruited to a terror network. These people don't know any better, and I think the whole point of some of the accused being in Egypt was to perhaps help.

These people weren't there to incite violence, I imagine it was the contrary. They are being scapegoates for the military regime that cannot even keep order at a football match, let alone the fresh violence and stupidity surging from all quarters. It won't be long before some idiots manage to touch off a blaze between the Copt's and the Muslims....

....I wonder who the military dictators will blame then.

" though they should of imprisoned him which would of been a bit more civilized, they didn't kill off Mubarak."

They didn't kill him because like Tunisia's president, he saw the writing and stepped down. Syria and Cambodia have no bearing on Egypt. and it's current state.

" Why does this country continue to give "aid" money to other countries that are more willing to take the hand outs but poo in our faces at the same time when they can?"

Exactly. Cutting them off isn't enough, making sure they cannot buy arms from us allies is also essential. If the Russians or the Chinese want to fuel the fire like they are in Syria then let them deal with the consequences. No aid can hardly make the place worse than it is already.
