"There is as much evidence now as there was then."

Yup. There is none. He admitted trying to kiss her, and the prosecuter is bypassing the legal system and claiming it sexual assault, and dismissing it over the French statute of limitations.

Strange to see the least, but I congratulate all inviolved for the waste of public money to a judicial system that is already absolutely in peniury.

" It is sad that an icon passed away, but he wasn't the first, nor will he be the last one to die from an OD."

True, but the Doc is going to get fried. I can't say I feel any pity for him - he demanded a ridiculous salary, accepted a less ridiculous sum to go against the healing principles and supply the needs of an addict. Both the Doc and Jackson knew what they were doing, it's cost Jackson his life and it'll cost the doc his medical license, and maybe a little jail.

The most annoying to me are the vultures from Jacksons family that are only there to see what few dollars they might be able to sweep from the courtroom floor once the lawyers have had their fill.

There will be hoardes of unscrupulous Hollywood doctors ready to pump the scag into their rich clients veins even when Murray is gone.

Bush's military policies (notice the S) where numerous. Neither did missile strikes start with him, certainly Bubba sent off a few salvos, so no - I don't think it is fair to say it's obvious.

If I expanded the topic, it was in relation to Bush's miltary policies (see the S again?). But why am I not surprised to find you denying the bodycount from that military policy once again? You have no idea how many lives were lost because of the invasion, hundreds of thousands is a reasonable figure - the lowest count is in 6 figures. Even if it were "a mere" tens of thousands (which even bush himself acknowledged) is an outrageous attrocity.

Banning guns in the US is ridiculous an idea as calling for a ban on spree-killers.

Even in meticulous nanny states like the UK where even most air guns are now restricted access, nutters still get hold of firearms and kill people. In fatc as far as I'm aware, gun crime has risen in the UK since the Dunblane massacre.

Even if the impossible happened and there were no more guns in the US, what would have stopped this nutter plowing into the hair salon with an eighteen-wheeler to kill his ex?

"U.S. military strikes on militants didn't work under Bush? "

You made the claim Mr Obama was following bush's military policies, not strikes. Big difference there.

Bush also bombed a city of 5 million people as part of his military policies, which touched off a blaze that consumed hundreds of thousands of lives. So even if the odd missile strike was a success back then, claiming Bush's military policies to be a success would be laughable....if you weren't trying to believe it to be so.

" Obama is basically just continuing Bush's military policies."

Which particular military policy would that be then?

As far as I can see, Obama's strikes on militants have a major difference to Bush........They're actually working.

I feel to see how it's fair to call these people bums.

Bums don't go out and look for work, much less go out to protest because there aren't any!

    "Aren't these the same?"

Nah, the rich dude still works 14 hours a day and pays some taxes pro-rata, despite that part being the issue here.

Bums have been allowed, nay, encouraged to breed - and become acustomed to lying in bed 'till eleven with a tab and a cuppa laughing at the fools that get up and go to work to pay for their slobitude. But that sounds like Europe anyway, not the US....

I'm a capitalist but I support reigning it in. No single individual should be allowed to accumilate the power and wealth some have. It isn't in the interest of either humanity nor democratic principles. Rupert Murdoch being the first into the spotlight, oh, and perhaps someone could remind the world they forgot about his 'phone hacking scandal.....somehow?

I think it's the spirit of people pissed of with un-checked cpaitalism run wild, rather than the stench of communism.

"but it seems a bit silly to tax your own businesses on one hand while selling all the coal you can to China on the other."

Where it only coal they were burning. I've seen container loads of used tyres heading to China which I presume were destined to be burned in their power stations.

We have the same tax here, it is nothing other than collective governments finding new ways to screw us out of more. The media are parrotting that it's a "new tax on carbon pollution to combat climate change" yet what of these tax revenues are ear-marked to" combat" climate change?

Poop rolls down and this has been another "eco" tax that has hit the European motorist, each time a logbook changes hands. Up to 2500 euros extra, plus le price of the pink-slip.

What's next, a tax on salt? Or perhaps homes with too many windows?

    Tigermoth,

I reside in France since 98, but I'm British :)

I fancy voting here in next years presidentials (yeah I reside and pay taxes here but cannot vote - go Europe!) So I'm in the motions of aquiring a French passport to join Her Majesty's. My lawyer warned me but I was suspect about the official quesionnaire, which some questions concern laicism and ask open questions on the same subject. Colonialism they screwed up BIG, but lessons on this subject are clear. And visionary IMO.

Many things here seem backwards or even upside down. But the speparation of church and state, and continued reform and legislation to protect said laicism, almost excuses a lot of stupidity this side of the pond.

Egypt's military rulers should take note. Anyone prepared to make such a fundemental decision on their own lives, let alone anyone elses live based solely on "faith" need to be shown the bedroom/religious area's door and be told to keep it to themselves.

    And rightly so.

Bah it isn't muslims the problem it's religion as a concept in general, twined with an un-educated and majority population.

It's easy to point finger and mutter about "sharia winter" conspiracies. The Jewish state has escalated problems, the Palestinians are a pain in the ass...

Third world stupidity is the culprit, in this cas Islam being the tool.

Heh, once again I salute the country where I reside, where religion is treated in the manner of a sex-bent. Don't force it on others especially not the weak-minded or the young, and keep it in private!

Bah I'd love to finally see some journalism here in France opposed to the feel-good, dumbed-down crap run by either the nanny-state, or Sarko's big business buddies.

Sarko even got PPDA the sack and that was un-thinkable!

Other than those that pen the left leaning "Le Canard Enchaine" which more or less says it how it is, the term investigative journalism is an oxymoron.

Sarah has become more of an obsession of the radical left these days. Most of their counterparts on the extreme-right have either changed handles or are pretending they never really supported her candidacy as they rally around the new list of looney individuals preparing to take part in the 2012, mud-slingathon.

A woman president is inevitable, quite telling that a (half) black man was before a woman, and of any colour for that matter! Racism before sexism in a simplistic take.

Which ladies are credible moderate candidates any way?

Condileeza Rice was pretty smart, but her association with the catastrpohic Bush regime is probably the reason she's disappeared from the political map. And then - suppose there's the potential suggestion of the liquor license which would obviously be repugnant to the fringe elements, something most of us Europeans couldn't really care less about.

The only lady that springs to mind is obviously HRC. The Americans would, in my humble opinion anyway, be crazy to pass her by. To start with, she's about the only democrat with any balls.

But more importantly the dems need someone gritty to take on the GOP attack-ad "politics" of sliming without a better idea, and bringing back a bit of intelligence and dammit dare I say, actually get people to act like adults again?

And the obvious bonus, is of Bubba being back in the Whitehouse. The man who didn't inhale, and who let's face it, is liked by just about everyone. Who better to have as America's First Gentleman?

    "No more sex tourists??"

As long as you can get a 14 year old to sit on your face for a dollar, I doubt any of the afore-mentioned tourists will be taking your calls for a boycott anytime soon.

That's pretty much how I see it Antonios.

Banks are like insurance, it's all decided on risk. The Euro imploding is scarier than lending the Greeks more money so...

...(Whilst they whisper that they'll simply pass the cost on to the ever reciprocal customer anyway, proverbial cheeks spread)

I was expecting this to be the case of a dumb-ass tourist being a dfumb-ass before reading the article.

It's not just even a case of natine knowing better Willi, appprently he translated the texts years ago whilst living in the US.

When you hear that he returned to Thailand from the US for medical treatment, the poor sod must be skint anyway going back to Thailand to seek treatment.
