These people are braving death protesting for change in their own backyard.

I think the fact that he's a nut does the job on it's own Jean. Possibly a good thing, we saw what desperate people do in desperate times in Germany all those years ago.

"John Nance Garner’s observation that “the vice presidency is not worth a bucket of warm spit.” "
Surely he was talking about Mr Cheney at the time?

If anyone got a good ride with the media it was my favourite eloqutionist Geedub hiself. Right up until things really went tits-up in Iraq the media were timid to critisize, largely due to Karl Rove's extremely effective propaganda machine in a post 911 world that had any dissenters as terrorists.
If there is one thing I will give you genuine credit for Sailwind, is that you're still on the same handle you always had, unlike others who I shan't mention. That deserves mentioning, because you're the only one left.

That crackpot priest farce was also damaging to Obama, the media were relentless.
Laguna has already said it best. Democrats still engage in adult debate whilst the GOP just sinks ever lower with its bitter and hateful campaigns. They're going to remain in the wilderness for some time to come.

PlasticM,
You're wasting your time on the radicals. Heh, I can hear Palin still shrieking about "Obama's ties to terrorists" right at the end of the campaign, when team McCain were wincing with the embarassment of not being able to shut her up...
Talk about a gimmick gone wrong!
And still to this day sailwind hasn't the courage to admit she is the real reason Barrack Obama is in office.

Zichi,
Whilst common sense agrees with you, how do you sit at the table with people who simply murder anyone who disgrees with their strange desire of living in the Middle Ages.
It's a lunar colony that is needed for the Taliban. I think it's the only solution aside genocide.

Sorry to break it to ya Baz but the Taliban were probably the most blood-thirsty regime this side of the middle ages.

I didn't mean insensitivity towards your folks, it's funny how things can be mis-construed when they're written as opposed to spoken. Thanks for your comments

Well I would understand a discussion about the rising cost of heating in regards to people dying. That, like everything else in Europe has sky-rocketed with the damned Euro.
I presume your folks are in Eastern Europe?

20 degrees C three weeks ago sipping a Stella on an outside terrace. Baracaded inside today -10 C, I'm talking myself into getting the snow off the truck and going to get some bread. Hardly normal to me.
Even spring and summer weather has been strange, like have one long season as opposed to four.

I'd stick with a plan for the four years of Obama. Mental preparation. It's not a cert, but it's more than possible.
The media are a twisted lot I'll grant, but coming from your politicaL stance I'm not believing they're pro-Obama anytime soon.

Then you haven't read my posts.
My initial message was to the same rightwingnuts that miss no opperunity to deny man's chronic negative effect to the planet. We're a bloody cancer.
Freak weather is not the norm, I disagree with you entirely. I repeat what I wrote earlier, we've had a winter here where I live more comparable with spring, until 10 days ago. By the 3rd of January it had frozen only twice on a morning. And then suddenly this.
I've noted people around me complaining about the cold this week as if its some sort of new phenomena, when in reality it is the weather before the cold snap that is abnormal.
I'm still not sure what point I've made that you take issue with?

Oh and you clearly didn't watch Hilary and Obama slug it out. They just didn't have knack of the shrieking, bitter personal attacks to drag the party down to the depths of GOP primaries as we've just witnessed, between Gingrich and Romney.
Or is that part of the media conspiracy too?
