I want to do this cocktail run - worth a visit to Tokyo for! I love that quote, too:

it’s perfectly fine to drink at any hour as long as you’re traveling.

    Oh yes.

Rest in peace. That's a great life's philosophy at the end there.

Modern Family is hilarious - I'm so glad it's a winner.

Good lord - Trevor from the 4-day-market! Ohisash! I heard you'd gone into the brew business. People are often afraid of leaving what they know, workwise, and moving into what they want to do - it's good to read a success story. Glad to hear you're doing so well.

I think it's nice, and if I had done that as a kid and had a response, I'd've been over the moon. It's a years-old tradition, like time capsules that people - cities even - make and bury. I am amused, though, by this approach to 5 years as being sooooooooo looooooooong ago. Stop that - it's barely a drop in the vast ocean of life!

"Peeeeace!" Have you never heard people say that as they pose? What's wrong with it? Better, if you think about it, than people saying "Cheeeeese!" as they mime eating a quarter or Edam, no?

And certainly better than that annoying gangsta rap pose.

He's a lying predatory scumbag. If he goes back into politics after this - if the French people/govt actually give him the chance to, then they are in effect condoning sexual aggression.

Good for him - he stood down in protest against Fox censorship. Wish more people would do that.

Pork scratchings, then. not the light crispy ones, th heavy, tooth-breaking ones with a thick layer of fat on one side. 3 packets is the calorific RDA of the average adult! Bloody lovely...

Her use of the words "fate" and "destiny" don't jibe with

we became pregnant earlier than expected

Why lie about it by suggsting that any thought or planning actually went into their getting pregnant at all?

I like this picture a lot. It's not at all disrespectful - they've adopted a forward-looking pose of strength and unity before a battered and broken symbol of liberty and freedom and justice.

Holy crap, but filling that out is adding to the tragedy. Just imagine what some people have to write: I lost my house, my business, all my personl possessions, my land, my mother and my 2 children.

I love reading all the Brits' answers! Adding "without bankrupting myself or making it myself" is key for a lot of these answers.
True, The Meat Guy does pack good meat - I've nagged him for years about getting black pudding, but it can't be done.

Cheshire cheese, crumpets, black pudding, fruit trifle. And apple juice - japanese AJ lacks tartness. Box selections of chocolate, like Terry's All Gold and Black Magic. A leg of lamb.

Is it cooking or baking - based on the book cover, it looks like the latter.

This picture makes cup noodle look like appetizing! But they're not really like that, are they? I've never had one (that i remember) - not a ramen fan, sadly.

Dear Moderator: the name's Momofuku Ando, not Mokofuku.

There is an interesting and amusing (and not a little controversial) book called "The Ramen King and I" which talks a lot about this guy, the inventor of instant ramen - his life was eventful, and partly whitewashed by Nissin, apparently.

Moderator: Yes, that typo has been corrected.

If her purpose is to lower health expenditures, then abolutely alcohol taxes should be raised as well. The physical damage caused due to abuse of and addictio to both cigarrettes and booze is long-term and life-threatening.
