One day the Japanee will make amends with China and perhaps the Chinese will sell oil from the soon to be wells on Senkaku islands. Japan could give the Ryukyuans independence and we already know the Okinawans get along well with the Chinese. The promise of oil could lubricate the wheels of progress..............

I agree with the Moderator; why write over 70 blogs and ignore the subject - the Senkakus Islands. China will open shop when they want to.

This is 100& correct and Hashimoto is doing his job! Much ado about nothing.
Job requirements should include "NO visible tattoo's and allow attrition to take care of those employees who already have tattoo's. Personally, I like my "servants" to look business-like.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I always thought there were two knives in the Har'aki'ai action; one was the katana (A short knife used to disembwel and a long Samur'ai sword that was used by the aide to cut off the head) - this is of interest to me as I am writing on this subject at this time.

Another stupid move! We have already built a complete barracks on the island of Tinian and it was intended to put the dependents on Saipan. plus the island of Rota was to be used for bombing practices and yes, we already had a air field built - in fact we used to send Enola Gay to drop the first bomb to end WWII. All this was to be bult by Kaiser.

Ten years down the road I would ask you to tell me how much better it is with the Japanese in full charge of your beautiful islands. It wont take ten years as the Japanese are already moving in en masse, even before we move out. The Japanese already have a large area, complete with sewage and a golf course and are working toward a private airfield that will service their summer homes in Arume Okinawa.

Guam will be the headquarters and the Marines will lve on Tinian and train on Rota and the dependents will be housed on Saipan - at least that is the way they decided back in 1967 - Kaiser built the barracks years ago and the airfild was used to drop the bombs on Japan.

Note: Things are going to get tough in the coming months and I suggest we all revert to the war years and grow our own "victory gardens" I am going to stuff my garden with a many veggies as I can find. Things could get very hungry.

Noda: when you return to Japan bring Obama with you and drop him off somehere in the vicinity of Saipan, Frankly, I feel we should be chatting with China as they were one of our allies and Japan started WW2 with a visit to Pearl Harbor. I feel we should be nice to China and forget Japan. (This does not include Okinawa!)

I definately feel that to refer to this as a "baked kitty" is in POOR taste. Can't you call it a pop-tart or something more appealing? I love my kitty, but not baked!!!

And who will be declared the winner of this action? Will it be China - or Japan -or Australia - ot he USA -or maybe even the original Korea; definately not Guam. I would be better if the powers to be just sent the USA home.

Now hear this............. It is confusing, but allow me to tell you this area has already been explored and the place is one large oil and gas area - millions of barrels and remember The answer is staring you in the face that FDR wanted to return the Ryukyu Islands to the Chinese, but he died too soon. China doesnt trust Japan and Japan doesn't like China, but the former government of the Ryukyu Islands and China got along swimmingly. Allow The Government of the Ryukyu Islands to mediate with China and I am sure they would share. No one on Okinawa would ever have to work again (Ala Saudia Arabia )

Thank youyasukuni for your kind words. And now back to business, FDR tried to give the Ryukyu Islands to Chang Kai Shek and Shek begged off as "had no money to support the Ryukyus and in as much as Japan annexed the islamds as payment for rescuing some Ryukyuan fisherman from the aborigines (cannibals) on Formosa -( you can read all about this, in my new book about a "Angry Marine") Suffice to say that Japan didn't give diddly squat about the Senkaus until China found gas and oil under those islands. Frankly, I am trying to get the Ryukyuan people to secede and start their own State. I love those Ryukyuan people - fact is I married to what is a large family of Okinawans.

Okinawa does not belong to Japan I seem to remember that "To the victors, belong the spoils of war" I recall that we fought a war on properties selected by Japan and we won both wars ; One on Okinawa and the second war on the three main islands of Japan proper. Those were allied forces that fought and died to win both those wars. I can show you a letter to McArthur where Hirohito gave the Allied forces the entire kingdom of the Ryukyu Islands if the USA would not put the Army of Occupation on Japan Proper.

I already know the feeling that exist on the Japanese front, BUT I all goes back to what is recognized as the Cairo Accords of `1943. "ALL LANDS TAKEN BY VIOLENCE OR GREED. WILL BE RETURNED TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS." T HE RETURN NEVER TOOK PLACE TO THE kINGDOM OF THE RYUKYU ISLANDS,
