I'm not. A drink vending machine can serve several people and reduce the need for personal refrigerators and beverage warming devices. That, and, you know, worrying about global warming is silly.

I'm planning to watch it online. Since the production costs were paid for by billionaire James Clark, and since the people appearing in the documentary presumably were not paid, and since the producers are surely more interested in spreading the story than in making money, I'm sure it will be available online shortly, right?

I'm pretty sure "bamboo" isn't traded on the stock market. Even if a bamboo harvesting company was listed on the stock market, you would have to look at that company's balance sheet, income statement and management rather than just blindly investing (or giving silly investment advice) based on what the company produces.
No, it really doesn't.

It's now being reported to be 8.8, which would make it the 6th or 7th strongest earthquake ever recorded.

I don't know. Why don't you ask someone? You could report your findings here, and we could read them.
Then why didn't you get a better answer before you finished writing the article?
Obvious facts are not interesting to read.

I question sports which require minimal physical exertion. Curling is an obvious candidate for removal.
Posted in: Are there any sports that you think should be dropped from the Winter Olympics for whatever reason?

Deaths in Olympic events are rare (is this the first?), so television editors didn't have a frame of reference to work from. If someone was decapitated, they'd would (and should) cut away right away, because the death would be obvious. This death was less obvious.
Rebroadcasts of a crash, after it becomes clear that an athlete died, are in poor taste.
Posted in: The crash that claimed the life of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili prior to the opening of the Vancouver Winter Olympics was aired on national TV. Do you think it should have been?

Because JapanToday articles are often so lacking in discussion-provoking content that readers comment instead on the picture, which often involves a celebrity. Here's an example.

Posted in: Why do Japanese celebrities featured in photos or stories on Japan Today frequently come in for a lot of derision from some readers?

No mention of what specifically people should do to prevent fires. If "everyone can contribute in some way", perhaps a few ways could be mentioned.

Orchid64, excellent summary of what most eikaiwa students seek.
Dean Rogers, I enjoyed your interview last summer, especially the specifics you mentioned about what lead to your success. You mentioned recording every lesson which both allows student to review the lessons, as well as provides data from which management can judge the validity of student complaints. I'm hoping your future articles will include more specific, practical insights like these.
