Starviking - Well, I'll be. Looks like you're right. After reviewing many of the 1970s articles, it looks like most, if not all of the articles were basically journalists taking scientists' observations about global cooling and then scaring the public into believing that another ice age could be on the way. In other words it was journalists who were pushing that. The experts knew better. Just as you said.
