And the chinese government still hasn't gotten it into their thick skulls that you CAN'T CONTROL…
It seems no thread is complete without NetNinja's overly long, pointless, insane State of the Union…

Elvensilvan, Did not know that. Great info! But, still....that was a powerful EQ and Tsunami.

Twusted? If I were to be strangled to death on a balmy Japanese afternoon, I would want to go to something like Magum P.I. It would be a nice backdrop to the mystery of who murdered me. Twisted indeed!

Dolphingirl... you must be new to Japan. What happens next is that he gets a suspended sentence. Possible reasons? He has to take care of his handicapped parents. Thirty-one, unemployed and still living at home? He is a young one for this type of manchild crime. Usually the violence begins when they're forty and stop coming out of their bedrooms. That's when the nagging begins.
MESSAGE TO JAPAN: Stop coddling your children. It will only come back to bite you in the arse.

"give up her children for adoption. There would be so many people who would love to take them." Doubt that. Not in Japan at any rate. Adoption is more often viewed as a pile of dirt best swept under the carpet. Very few couples in Japan would want to adopt a five-year-old boy along with a two-year-old. The social stigma of doing so would be unbearable. RIP boys. Hang your head in shame woman.

Sure, he will never win the "best politicianist" award, but he will always have my vote for the "biggest pelvisist." He has an epic pelvis. A truly giant pelvis amongst normal pelvises. I hope the door hits it on the way out.

The poor wife is being thrown under the bus by a lot of you guys on this board. Why? Because she left the baby "with a monster" aka her husband? I would think that would be what we call an inconceivable mistake. If my wife left me for a few hours with our baby (we don't have one) I hope she wouldn't even think it possible that I would do that. Next we read that she is a whore, hostess etc. Where does it say that? She went out. She came home. In the morning she noticed the bruises. She went to the hospital. It sounds to me like this woman is the rock of the family. Stop beating her up you bunch of troglodytes.

At least the man is working. I think at this point in Bush's presidency he was just a couple days off his second or third vacation. Anyone know how many days Obama has taken off?

Pretty much agree with many of the sentiments here. There is a duty of care owed by sellers of alcohol. It is probably under-enforced like many things in this country. I say you nail him, nail the bar and most certainly nail the woman because we all have to be responsible for our actions.

Lunchmeat... I suppose you would say the same thing if the US just killed EVERYONE in the area. It would get rid of the insurgents, wouldn't it?

The glimmer of hope for Japan comes from the two 11 year olds. They were actually going to bring the money to the authorities. In any other country I might disregard this as a farce, but in Japan... perhaps they really were going to do it.

Why is anyone giving Hatoyama and Ozawa credit for defeating the LDP, instead of giving credit where it truly is due... with the bumbling LDP? In the words of a certain British band, "You do it to yourself, you do"

Superlib: "Last I checked, people in Idaho and Mississippi weren't getting together in groups and blowing up office buildings in the Middle East."
Um... they are actually blowing up lots of stuff in the Middle East, including innocent people, small children and a whole lot of other stuff. Or does what the American military blow up not count in your mind? Knowing you from your posts, I'm going to have to say it doesn't.

I totally agree wanderlust. Strewn along the hall are the remains of a plethora of shady dealings. Bones. Bones. Bones. I wonder how many hidden LDP skeletons are going to be exposed from this changeover? 'Bout time.

You better tell me there was a guy named Boss Hogg and Rosco P. Coltrane in the mix. That story just made my day. What a laugher. Except for the guy who got shot in the ass. Get well soon.

I agree klitty. Use the dukes that were given to you if the stare-down doesn't work. Don't just take the abuse. Wish you were stronger girls. Unfortunately this wearing down of one's self-esteem over years and years of abuse is what I believe causes these kinds of desperate acts. Perhaps Back To The Future should be required viewing in J-schools. McFly...!
