What would calling for backup have done? Let's say another 8 officers joined him. With nine cops on the scene the perp would still have gotten away. Come on people think Ishihashi. And apparently this guy wasn't even barefoot. Shoganai. Nothing could have avoided this outcome.

Sooooo a radio on his person would have solved this case? Well, obviously this is now a technological limitation that can never be overcome. Kind of like time travel. Theoretically, he could have carried a radio, but logistically and realistically this is impossible. So, shoganai. Nothing could have been done.

Hells if there is cheaper rent to be had, show me the way Google Earth.

As for the story itself, it is just ridiculous on so many levels.

I agree with likesitself too. A pursuit would have been brutal. Don't you all remember the Osaka car chase? One crim against something like 4000 police officers in over 800 vehicles. Chasing this guy for a set of stolen plates would have been devastating to the ecology of Japan with all those carbon fuels being burned up, when all they need to do is follow the trail of the license plate. Now, they did get the plate didn't they? No?

Not a mention for Ai-chan? Oh, that's right, she sucks at pingpong. Find another hobby.

"It takes time, years, sometimes decades before a break comes and a case gets solved." That's because the j-cops keep letting the suspect go.

She was a good player as a kid, but she can't hold her own against the top name stars. Really, she's the Macauly Culkin of Ping Pong, which is really like the, er, Ping Pong of sports. Saaa!

She wouldn't press charges. What could they do? I wonder if they pressured her not to. That's a lot of paperwork for them to do.

Still haven't read on JT what the cause of death was. Was she abandoned to death? Was she tickled to death? How did the girl die? Abandoning a corpse... what is that? I did that with last night's dinner.

This reminds me of that time I got totally smapped and went home to beat my kids only to find I was in the wrong house. To make a long story short, I feel really sorry for those kids. My neighbour will never let me live this one down. But maybe that is because I banged his wife that night too.

Again, the problem is the Chinese didn't use Japanese babies for bayonet practice. Hence the anger. Sounds reasonable. Still, the Chinese have also done a few bad things in their days. But the baby skewers may have been a little much.

Hope the ball team starts using those colours. That would be so gay, by which I mean happy.

Yodabashi camera doesn't play the Beatles. The Comme ca attached is the place that has had it on loop for the last few years. Horrible stuff really. That and a few other run-ins with Beatlemaniacs has caused me to really detest the band. I used to love them, but Japan's inability to grow and change has forced them out of the pantheon of rock for me. I blame you Nihon!

I agree with tatsumaru. Make these unions legal under the law and to hell with the church and formal religions. I got married in Japan and had a ceremony in a fake church in front of a fake priest who taught English at a local school. Did I think it odd? Indeed. Do I feel that the ceremony lacked authenticity? A little. Do I care? Not at all. I felt married from the day I stamped the paper at the shiyakusho. A same sex couple should have the same rights. As for a church marriage, well, why would you want to be married under a dogma that believes gay love is an abomination?

This is why I don't like soccer/football. The sportsmanship is seriously lacking. It is the same thing with all the diving. I mean, come on boys and girls, show some character and some pride.
