Really? Is there a reason why Israel and Egypt might not agree? Be honest now. Nothing you want to admit about Hamas and their importing of weapons?

Far as I'm concerned, Israel has been extremely patient with Gaza. They realize that if they open the borders to let food and aid in, Hamas who doesn't care about its people, will use the opening to try to bring in Weapons so they can kill more Israelis. With these facts in mind, its not surprising that the world hasn't made a big deal of it. Hamas=terrorist group. Would you want to allow a terrorist group greater access to weapons and munitions?

I think Israel should just start carpet bombing Gaza like England did to Germany in WW2. If it was ok for them, it should be ok for Israel, right? Who cares if noncombatants get killed right?

AlfGarnett - Still with the Genocide thing huh? With a population of over 1 million, a couple hundred dead does not equal genocide. When whole villages and cities are systematically wiped out, when the number of dead reaches and exceeds 100k, then you can start crying about Genocide. Hell, I'd join you then. But when Israel is doing its best to avoid civilian casualties, despite Hamas hiding behind the skirts of its women and children, well what can I say other then that, the people of Gaza wanted this. They wanted it, and now they've got it.

Really? Hamas is responsible for this? How do you figure that? I mean like SuperLib says, you can't even find a picture of Hamas, of them fighting, shooting at Israelis. How do you get that from the media spin. The only thing I get, is the impression that Israel is murdering civilians. So much for unbiased news eh?

Ya know, I don't know why everyone else in the world is even involved in this. Its clear that the democratically elected leaders of Gaza want to continue to fight. Israel is happy to continue killing them. Why is anyone else even involved in this. If the people of Gaza, don't want the war, then obviously they should choose someone else to lead them. Likewise Israel... How is what happens there anyone elses business? If either side wants a cease fire, and asks for help in getting it, then sure. But since neither side wants to stop, I say just stay out.

Thought was probably, I need to go to station, old guy offers her a ride. She looks him over, sees hes very old thinks, he looks harmless, won't try anything with me...

There ya go. Most likely reason she got into his car, he looked old and seemed harmless.

Wow, quite an accurate feature for once. Though the author undersold Hezbollah, and their reasons for not wanting to open a second front against Israel. To put it simply, though they claim they won by holding off Israel in 2006, what they really accomplished, completely destroyed southern Lebanon. If they did open up a second front, Israel would respond, and once again all the rebuilding they have done, would be wiped out. If they hope to play a larger role in Lebanon's government, seeing it destroyed a second time just to score against Israel would be very counter productive.

And Libertas, despite what you have to say, Iran is Lurking in the background, providing money and arms to both Hez and Hamas. If you think otherwise, then you are at best completely naive, at worst a willing schill for Iran.

If Jordan or Eygpt wanted that land, I suspect Israel would agree to a handover, provided they had some guarantees along with it. However neither country wants their land back, for the simple reason, that there are so many extremists there, so much hatred. They have enough problems with the fundies already, Eygpt in particular. They don't want any more of them.

Theres a reason Jordan has housed these so-called refugees in 'temporary' camps for more then 40 years.

As guilty as Gaza? No, they weren't blindly shooting into Gaza repeatedly without stopping. They weren't refusing truce negotiations. Israel pulled out of Gaza, gave up all claim to it, in order to trade land for Peace, but Hamas wasn't buying.

Having said this, I really do hope it works. I don't think anyone except extremists on both sides really want to see fighting and death. Unfortunately, the real question is, will Israel hold out for provisions that block Hamas re-arming, and will those provisions be effective?

If they do, and if they work, then peace could work. But it really all comes down to Hamas. Whether they will agree to peace or not.

AS a neutral i find Israels attacks on innocent women and children beyond belief.

So, as a neutral, how do you find their attacks on Hamas? Hamas is hiding behind the skirts of their women, but Israel is shooting at them, not the women and children who shelter them. Thats what I find truly disgraceful.

Do I need to? Do your own research. Look it up for yourself. You can find tons of articles from all sorts of news sources talking about foreign fighters coming into Iraq. If you speak Arabic you could read some of the foreign language sites that try to recruit people as well.

Yeah, thats my point too. It shouldn't matter, but to some it obviously does. To some posting here, it seems that the lives of Jews are much less important then the lives of others.

The person who claims 600 people dead, most of whom were Hamas, is genocide, mate.

I don't blame Coleman for this. I mean he was leading by almost a 1000 votes. Now, 100 vote swing the other way after counties and precincts kept 'finding' new votes for Franken. 200 votes here, another 100 votes there. Wow, all for Franken. Amazing that. Hand counting the ballots. If a ballot is marked for both Franken and Coleman, the ballot of course is awarded to Franken. Hmmm.

In 2000, the Dems said, we won't allow another stolen election! They've proved it since. No, instead, they're the ones doing the stealing. In Washington in 04, and Minnesota in 08.

I agree on the need to change. They definitely need more nuclear power, other renewable resources should be tapped as well. But saying we need to recognize our limitations, is to accept that there is nothing we can do, and thats just not right.

Actually, think it looks like Justice to me. Considering his crime, he deserved to lose all the things he did. Anyone else who does similar things should as well. I have no sympathy at all for scumbags like this.

Truly, that is one of that sad things about the whole situation. Gaza was previously part of Egypt, but yet the people are not considered Egyptian. In 67, thousands of Arabs fled to Jordan from the West Bank, which was at the time part of Jordan. Yet 40 years later, their descendants are still housed in 'temporary' refugee camps, and again are not considered part of Jordan. Certainly not citizens of Jordan.

The biggest crime in all this is the treatment of these people, not from Israel, but from their Arab brothers, who want nothing to do with them.

AlfGarnett - You obviously have no concept of what Genocide is. Maybe its because you are too young to remember Serbia and Kosovo. Now that was Genocide. The systematic slaughter of everyone, that is Genocide. This doing their best to minimize civilian casualties, this is so far removed from genocide, you would have to be either an idiot, or a uncaring partisan to call it such.

Isreal knows this. They rely on this. As long as a single rocket is fired, Isreal is going to continue to kill Palestinians.

Yep, Hamas knows this as well. They also rely on it. They want their people killed. Thats why they hide in schools, in mosques etc. Because if Israel destroys a Mosque, or a school, then everyone hates them. It doesn't matter that Hamas had their forces there, that they were firing mortars from the school, and that they deliberately didn't evacuate the school. No, what matters is that Israel fought back and that their people were killed, just as they had planned.
