That would be great. Unfortunately though, unless you actually kill someone, you probably won't get any jail time in Japan. Well, unless you're foreigner, then you're going away for a long time, before they boot you out of the country.

Nope, I'm not a member of the Military. Oddly enough though, I am from a Military family. Yes that means most of my family is now, or has served in the Military. I think that gives me sufficient grounds to speak from. And while 85% might be high, I've only ever actually met 1 person in the military who didn't consider themselves conservative. Met hundreds who do. Maybe I'm biased, maybe I've just been fortunate in my friends, and in who my family brought home. But there ya go. Take it as you will. I don't really care what you think anyway.

Something to consider in this whole thing, is the regional aspects of this election. The vast majority of the states were close, some for Obama, some for McCain. However there were several states that were in no way close, and contribute disproportionally to the margins. Specifically, states like California, New York, and obviously Illinois. These 3 are very large states, and taken together add roughly 6 million votes to Obamas margin of victory. Without those margins, Obama would have still won, but it would not nearly have been by as much.
The point I'm making here, is that Obama is not nearly as universally loved as some people are making him out to be. This election really was close, except in some disproportionately liberal states. This suggests that the majority of America is divided over him, and certainly, that he didn't win by a landslide.

Boo hoo. Some people are starving in some 3rd world country. We should starve ourselves because of it.
Seriously, quit your whining. If you have time to complain, get off your butt and do something about it. Donate time/money to help, don't just sit around whining about some womans ability to seriously pack in food. It just makes you look pathetic.
And yes, if nothing else, I'd say it rates a brief mention. I mean being able to eat that much... Thats just amazing. Some other terms I could use, but I won't.

McCain is quiet as a churchmouse about the whole thing. I'm starting to wonder what would cause the man to open his mouth. Quick, someone ask him whether Obama is Muslim!

I wouldn't be surprised to see another raft of gun control laws being pushed through. Though there are quite a few conservative dems would wouldn't support them, I doubt many of them would stand up to Pelosi and Reid.

This is true. Its just the Dems that are picking up on it, and continuing the smears, well beyond where the staffers went. Now libs like Dumbdonkey are telling outright lies about her. Now shes a moronic, unethical, Diva who should go back to Alaska, and of course shut up. I'll admit it, these outright lies bother me. It bothers me that McCain is nowhere to be heard while these lies are being bandied about. The man would foam at the mouth, if anyone happened to mention Barrack Hussein Obamas middle name. But his VP pick gets trashed, by his own people, and not a whisper. More then anything else, I think this shows what kind of man he really is.

I find it amusing that you are so strongly for Obama, despite being in the military. How does it feel being in such a small minority. What with 85% of military people, and their families being conservative. Mostly because libs like Obama, all want to cut the military to nothing.

On the other hand, when a town in the South voted to require everyone to own a gun, crime dropped to nothing.

Was definitely a stupid thing to do. I wouldn't agree with a year in jail either. Looks like neither the prosecutors or the defense wanted jail time. The judge decided it merited it though.

I don't know about that Sarge. Its way too early to tell. Assuming Obama doesn't screw things up too badly, as a sitting President, he will be difficult to unseat, particularly with the standard media bias factored in. Of course if he screws things up, as he likely will, even with favorable media coverage, these things do get out. If that happens, then its anyones game, and Palin could very likely have a shot.
Although it really bothers me, these attempts at torpedoing her by smearing her intelligence, and accusing her of throwing money away on clothes and make-up. How much of that did she buy? Can you say... nothing! And the woman is obviously intelligent. And doing a pretty damn good job as Governor too.

Based on what you wrote here, I'm making the assumption that you are definitely not conservative. It doesn't take long to figure out that there really is a bias in the news media. When a Republican says something questionable, its shouted from the rooftops, it receives wall to wall coverage (ala. Trent Lott) Yet if a black Democrat says it, if you're lucky, it will get a brief mention, otherwise its entirely covered up. It certainly doesn't get the coverage that the same statement would coming from a Republican.
Now you can call that whining, myself, I call if facing reality. Theres nothing conservatives can do against the media. You just have to factor it into your calculations that the media bias will have its effect, and hopefully you'll be able to get your message out anyway.
While I similarly disagree with the blanket statement of corruption charges against Republicans, I will agree that many of them forgot why it was people voted for them in the first place. It certainly wasn't so they could try to outspend the Democrats, or to pretend that they're the "common" people. By doing these things, you're right, they became essentially Democrats. They abandoned conservatism in favor of Big Government.

Interesting article, and raising very valid points. Though I disagree with your blaming McCain and Bush for the financial meltdown. Particularly since Democrats are primarily to blame for it. That said, theres more then enough blame to go around on it.
The unconstitutional war comment was beyond stupid though. You've obviously never taken the trouble to read the constitution if you believe that. Saying otherwise is to delude yourself into thinking its something that its not. Theres a reason the Democrats didn't try to have the Supreme court declare the war unconstitutional.
Having said this, your comments about Bush and McCain betraying conservatism for big government liberalism, cloaked in the aura of social conservatism, is spot on. And unless and until, the Republicans repudiate this fiscal irresponsibility, they'll never be a National Party again.

All this stuff about Palin is complete Nonesense. What gets me about it, is if anyone even happened to mention Obama's middle name, McCain was frothing at the mouth. And yet these people who are desperate to pin the loss on anyone but themselves, and their mistakes, want to blame Palin, and where is McCain.
I've never liked McCain. Didn't vote for him in the primaries, wouldn't have voted for him in the general election if Obama hadn't been so much worse. Had it been Clinton running against him, I'd have voted for her instead.
Huckabee is a nutcase, and would be a horrible candidate for President. The man is Bush the sequel. Another Democrat lite. A Social Conservative, big government liberal. We've suffered through enough of that under Bush. If the Republicans are going to do anything in 2010, or 2012, they're going to have to make the case to the American people, that they are different then the Democrats. They're going to have to remember fiscal responsibility.

I see them as deluded. As in they were fooled by a sham. By the medias portrayal of him as this great savior. Its only now we're starting to get more details. Now that the elections over, some of the media is entering the cover their butts phase, and actually running background stories on the guy. lol. Little late now though Brokaw!

No, it doesn't represent a change in anything. It shows that a change long ago took place, and that what people have been claiming for years, IE Americans are racists, is fundamentally wrong. Oh, of course, we have people downplaying this and saying, racism still exists, but the simple fact of the matter is, and what many don't seem to want to accept. Obama got elected in part, not despite his skin color, but rather because of it.

Wow, I know I certainly woulnd't agree to these changes. They want to be able to prosecute troops for infractions committed on base? Umm, that doesn't sit well with me. And allowing inspection of US mail? So, are they going to be allowed to read and censor the mail as well?

Well, theres no question they're developing nuclear capability. Nor, given their conduct with Syria and Hezbollah, is there any question they're actively supporting terrorists. Guess I'm just surprised its taken this long to do this. Although this is likely a very minor step.
