And you also still don't know what racism is, do you want me to send you a link to a dictionary definition? Everyone knows why it's an "issue" of race, please spare me the holier-than-thou attitude. Maybe you claim not to think it's about race, but the crazies on the right have already shown time and time again what this is really about.

Let me explain this to you so even someone such as yourself can understand. If you bring out the race card without rock solid evidence to back you up, what you are in fact saying, is that its a race issue. If you have evidence to back up your claims, if people are as you so desperately claim, doing this only because BHO is black, then by all means, where is it? If you have no evidence, then either shut up, or admit you are in fact yourself racist. Because to you, race is the issue.

This kind of crap really bothers me. This idea that if people dislike Obama, it must be because of his skin color. Do you somehow not understand that we may dislike someone because our politics differ, or because the mans incompetent? Or perhaps because we just don't like the way he dresses? People hated Bush for all these reasons and more, and yet they were never called racist for it. Why? Do you believe skin color means he should get a pass? I sure as hell don't, and if you do, then you are in fact what I have come out and stated. A racist. Your insistence that this is about the color of Obamas skin speaks to what you are, and what you stand for.

"W" came out and did state that he did have a DUI, he manned up to his mistakes. But the issue I see with this release is that Obama couldn't do it up front. If there was nothing wrong with it, he should have just said so. Trying to play politics with your own "truth" says a lot about a person. That they are not really that honest, and will do anything to get ahead and get the edge over an opponent.

    Exactly.

I agree with the President. Now that we know he is a US citizen, what is he going to do about $5/gal gas.

Apparently, it has to do with Oprah.

Has any other president ever been asked to produce a birth certificate?

He's not the first to have this issue. Chester A. Arthur had the same problems. So obviously did John McCain.

Molenir -- You're not getting it. HE MET ALL THE REQUIREMENTS. You really think someone wasn't checking this while he was running for president? Really?

So then why not release it? Why make a big deal out of keeping it? Is it really that big a deal to go down and get your birth certificate? I have mine. Not a matter of whether people were checking up on it. This became an issue because of him.

And I don't think you know what racism means. You should look it up.

When you make something an issue of race, it says something about you.

Let's just hope this stupid fixation with President Obama's birth is over with now. He should have released it much earlier just to get rid of this silly conspiracy. Obama is an American - it's just his way of thinking that isn't.

I agree. By the way, now that the birth certificate issue is dealt with the nuts on the right will probably move on to the ridiculous idea that Obama is a Muslim. Have you heard about that one? As if a man would sit in a Christian church for 20 years and be anything else.

Why should he have had to?

Is this a serious question? If so, I'll go ahead and answer it. One of the qualifications for President, written in the constitution, is that you must be a natural born citizen of the United States. That means, you must have been born in the US. There are some who like to claim that it also should mean, that both your parents should be citizens, but thats not how the law has been interpreted so its a non issue. So, the reason he should have released this back when he was a candidate, has to do with qualification. Does he meet all the qualifications to be President. If he had released this information years ago, it would have never become an issue. Indeed, it never should have been.

People can deny it all they want, but if he looked white, no one would be calling this into question. No one.

And by saying this, by bringing skin color into this issue, you are essentially saying you are in fact a racist. And by the way, you're wrong as well. McCain also had to answer these questions back when he was a candidate, because he was born in Panama. Hes about as white as they come.

You sound like the socialist system in China.

I sound like the socialist system in china because I want candidates to have to reveal basic stuff about themselves before they run for office? How you figure that? Wheres the comparison?

    Trump = 1 Obama = 0

Lambasting claims to the contrary, Obama said in a nationally televised statement from the White House that, “We do not have time for this kind of silliness.”

lol, He then ran off to tape a show with Oprah.

hehe this isn't going to end controversy. When you're dealing with unreasonable idiots like "birthers" they aren't driven by logic.

You are actually wrong, at the same time you're right. The 'birthers' really are a bit like the 'truthers' on the left. Both sides have their wingnuts, and you're right, they aren't going to go away simply because Obama finally got around to releasing this information. However the sheer fact that Obama refused to release this, for years, is what gave this story legs, and took this out of the realm of stupidity, and made it a real issue. And it is going to hurt Obama. The fact that he refused to release these records back when he was asked as then candidate Obama, makes it seem like he has something to hide. Like GWB and the DUI arrest. It not going to hurt him with Dems or Republicans though, but rather with Independents who are going to look at this and see that Obama, despite having finally, finally gotten around to releasing this, isn't an upfront guy. And that he has things he would like to hide.

Speaking for myself here, I'd like it if a 'birther' bill was passed in every single state in the union. Not just for President, but for every candidate. From Senator, to Rep, to Governor, to hell dogcatcher. They should all have to release some basic information, if they want to run for public office. Stuff like tax forms, school performance, arrest record if any, birth certificate etc. These should be standard for every candidate, if only so that we citizens can see, is he straight with the government, did he break the law, was he doing drugs. So we can see the guy and make a more informed choice as to whether or not we can trust him to represent us. I'm actually rather disappointed that no state has a law to verify the credentials of a candidate, and make sure they are eligible to run for office. Its an oversight that really should be addressed.

Why did he need to produce? If he were white,he wouldn't have needed to. If you are against him like above, you will move on to the next petty issue.

Ah, another racist on the board. You disgust me.

It's reported that people are demanding that Obama release his actual BIRTH CERTIFICATE and the alledgedly transparent Obama still refuses to produce his actual BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Personally, I'm willing to take the word of the head of Hawaiian medical department that Obama was born in Hawaii but still wonder why Obama is hiding his BIRTH CERTIFICATE from public view.

See, thats the thing. What is he afraid of? Why is he hiding this? I mean apart from a few historians, most people are only going to care that he actually did release the information, that he is transparent as he said he was going to be. In my opinion, anyone who runs for office should be required to release this kind of stuff. 10 years worth of tax information, birth certificate, criminal record if any, etc, etc, etc. All this stuff should be released when you're a candidate, much less the actual President of the United States. And not just candidate for Potus, but Senators and Reps, even on the state level. Not releasing this info makes it seem like you have something to hide. Like Bush and his arrest for DUI.

This study doesn't really surprise me, as I have had this happen to me. I remember seeing this absolutely gorgeous woman, so beautiful it felt like my heart stopped for a moment, and my brain turned off, if only for a moment. Then everything re-engaged, but even still, I felt like I wasn't operating at full mental capacity for a few moments.

viking68: It's Sony's fault, no one elses, they made the "security" system, if they didn't lock it well enough someone was bound to get in... it is no ones fault except sony for not spending enough money on engineering something good.

Let us suppose, that I have a bank, and that it has a vault door. Someone comes in, and blows that door down. Is it my fault I didn't have a bigger door installed, or is it the person with the dynamites fault? The simple fact of the matter is, that Sony had security, that security was not good enough. They are improving it, but they are also not to blame for this. Those who cracked their security are, just as those who crack a bank are.

Well, the long form birth certificate was picked up in Hawaii and delivered in person by the white house counsel, so what other lame theories are birthers going to latch onto? Are actual policy proposals like privatizing Medicare or raising Warren Buffet's taxes not debate-worthy enough?

Hmm, your silliness aside, I still wonder, why the heck did it take him so long to release it? Why didn't he release this 3 years ago when he was first asked about it? Honestly, once he releases his birth certificate, it becomes a non issue. Some people might claim its a forgery, but who really cares.

Back on Ron Paul now. I like the guy. He has been preaching fiscal restraint for a long time now. Back when it was Republicans over spending. Some of his other issues are questionable, but at least on fiscal policy, he makes some sense.

Rising food prices are hardly a concern considering the massive weight gain of Americans. People eat too much to begin with. I have friends in the US now, and all they can talk about is the insane food portions.

Thank you. Is there anything else you feel the government should mandate? Maybe our population is out of control, we should have less fat in our foods, perhaps transplants are too expensive so they shouldn't be permitted? Perhaps the government should just send people who don't agree with it to forced labor camps. What fits your vision of what our society should be under your marxist philosophy?

Here in America we believe in freedom. To do the things you don't like, as well as the things that are bad for you. Its far better then the nanny state idea where everything is strictly controlled. People take responsibility for their own actions, and rise or fall based upon their choices.

More to worry about:food prices have climbed 6.5 percent since the beginning of January(Consumer Growth Partners).I say it all comes to a head this summer.

Price of gas impacts the price of food. You notice also that today the EPA decided to shut down drilling off the coast of Alaska? Isn't the Obama administration wonderful!

Problem in the U.S. is the weak dollar. In the short-term, weak dollar depreciation does not affect supply and demand, but it does affect speculation and investment in oil futures markets. However, investing in futures becomes both a hedge against a weakening dollar and an investment vehicle that could yield substantial profit, especially in a climate of vanishing excess oil production capacity and increasing demand.

Finally you say something intelligent. I was starting to wonder about that.

In the long run, however, a weaker dollar affects supply by reducing production, regardless of whether oil is owned and produced by national or international oil companies. A weak dollar also affects demand by increasing consumption.

And then you go and screw it up by saying something nonsensical again. No, a weak dollar has little to no impact on supply. Nor does it really affect demand. How do you come up with this stuff?

A weaker dollar does impact imports. Everything imported, including oil becomes more expensive. Everything exported becomes more competitive.

Lowering the standard of living? There will be no change.

Excuse me? Just what do you think the effects will be from what you and your buddy Obama are proposing? Do you think the only impact will be more fuel efficient cars? I'll tell you what just some of the unintended consequences will be. Lighter cars means an increase in mortality rates in accidents. A weaker dollar means you can buy less. These are just 2 of the consequences and there are a lot more. The standard of living will decline with your suggestions.

What a joke. Consumers live only for today and they have much to blame for lack of their own future planning. Facts are the Goverment cannot do much.

You mean apart from instituting a ban on drilling? Apart from costly regulations, apart from not issuing any permits for a year? How about not permitting any refineries to be built? Apart from those things? What about the gas tax, can they do that?

Even if Obama approves the new drilling, there will be no immediate impact for five to ten years.

Dems have been saying this for years. If drilling in Anwar was first approved when it was brought up, rather then being repeatedly blocked by Dems, we would have oil flowing from there by now. Something else to consider, even the mention of allowing new drilling reduces the price of oil, as speculators then begin to take that into consideration. Sure other factors may cause it to go back up again, but that is a downward pressure on price. Thats an immediate impact.

Facts are U.S. no longer has the monoply to the source of oil and they have to adjust and develop a new technology for other source of energy.

US never had a monopoloy on the source of oil. They have been importing oil for more then 50 years. This is not news. And while developing new technology can be encouraged by government, it cannot be forced. Thats the problem.

The increase in oil prices are related to China and other emerging countries bidding for from the same source. This is all U.S. consumers fault for buying larger gas guzzling car then necessary for everyday use.

Yes, it has absolutely nothing to do with Obama and his moronic secretary of the interior. I mean, no drilling in the gulf, no new permits issued for a year... Yeah, no co-relation at all. Are you a complete idiot? Do you think we are?

You blame China, then turn around and blame consumers for buying cars that you have decided, use too much gas. So, like our incompetent President, your solution to the problem is not to increase supply by drilling where we know there is oil, but rather to force a decrease in demand. In other words, you want to lower the standard of living so that it meets your vision of what is 'fair'. May I simply suggest that you really do belong in Soviet Russia. This communist utopian ideal is precisely why Obama is having problems. Because Americans aren't communist, and don't subscribe to its idiotic philosophy, unfortunately Obama does, and his efforts to move the US towards this is whats getting him in trouble.

It is President Obama's goal to cause gas prices to go up - everyone on the Left knows and agrees with this way of thinking. He has said it himself though you will see hardly see any news organization report on this fact. They will not because they - and Obama - know that it will hurt his chances for re-election.

Sad but true. I find it irritating in the extreme, that the Presidents response to higher gas prices was to say, well, inflate your tires, and get a tune up. The man is such an idiot, and this is the guy those on the left revere? Very sad.

Sadly, I have to agree with McCain. If the US is going to fight in Libya, it should do it, get it over with and get the hell out. Having said this, I also have to say, that the US has no business in being in Libya. We should have never gotten involved in the first place.
