mirkwood - boarding is down to the airline not the airport. On British Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and many other airlines have always given priority to families with young children. Why don't you take your own stroller? They're allowed in addition to your luggage - I've done several flights with a young child (and luggage!)and had no problem with Narita Airport.

"government is incapable of enforcing laws already on the books, what makes you think anyone is going to be any safer if they deny citizens the ability to protect themselves?"
It wouldn't have made any difference in this case!! Even if everyone carried guns - would they be sitting taking an exam with their guns on their laps? No! That argument (as in so many other cases) just doesn't apply.

I'm sorry but I disagree with you bamboohat. Even if they owned arms they wouldn't be sitting at their desks with their fingers on triggers would they?

To those who think that the people could have defended themselves: they were sitting a test - presumably at desks with no quick access to their belongings....would have made no difference at all if they owned firearms.

Silly question - should be "do you believe that .... is a conspiracy theory". The question reads as if JT believes that all of these are conspiracy theories.

I so don't get this - you have your problems so you kill, or try to kill, someone else? How many crimes in the last few months have been committed and the perp says "I was upset/frustrated/having a bad day/angry about something"....Very scary.

2020hindsight - you work "in finance" and think that's "pretty safe"? I'm curious, as I would think that's one area where jobs are not "safe"...?

It's only in recent years in Japan that one has been able to use an ATM outside banking hours - some people probably still have the habit of carryng large sums of cash. Glad the perps were caught.

My best friend happens to be German and you wouldn't find a more anti-gun person anywhere. This story is shocking and the victims and their families certainly have my sympathy.
