Interesting. The danger is that an innocent business could be snagged by conducting business with gangsters without knowing they're gangsters.

Where does it say that they wanted to do business in anything other than Japanese?

I don't understand the problem here. Foreign firms that went by the correct rules and procedures have had no trouble helping out in Tohoku.

Well we don't know this. But we do know that people wanted to do business in a foreign country but in their native language. No wonder they were unsuccessful. For volunteer groups I would expect leniency. For business, there is no reason the Japanese officials should suspend the rules just to make it more convenient for foreign companies to get a toehold.

Those numbers do not match the general population, so I cannot believe this guy.

You'd need to correct for age. You can't compare a high-risk age group to the overall population. Also, as Mig noted, you need a non-slippery definition of sexual aggression.

No-one can deny that sexual violence is a big issue in the miliary, but a more balanced view might do more service to the problem.

They're called randoseru and yes they are expensive. But they do last the whole 6 years, which works out at ¥5,000 a year. You'd pay that for cheaper more stylish bags that wore out before one term was ended.

My high-end 12,000 yen knapsack's lasted me ten years. Anecdotal, I know.

He meant digit (tabi) socks or what ever you want to call them. Most of us have 5 fingers on each hand, and five toes on each foot. I am curious about yours now. We need a photo.

More like gohon-yubi sokkusu. I was just referring to the fatal lack of hyphen and the mistranslation of yubi, plus the failure to use a past participle. It should be "five-toed socks."

My feet are not for showin'; only for flippin' off.
