A terrorist group isnt subject to the Geneva Convention and therefore its not subject to standard war based laws. Thats a simple fact. Also since the crimes of most of the GITMO people did not happen on US soil its hard to bring them to a civilian court. Not impossible but very difficult.
As far as what they have done. Thats easy. Now Im not going to list all of the prisoners because the mods wont like it, but I will post groups and some single people and the charges that they can and should be charged with in a military tribunal.
Obama said it best. In voting for an amendment to the Military Commissions Act in 2006, Obama said it is “military courts, and not federal judges, who should make decisions on these detainees.”
60 of the Detainees have been cleared to leave GITMO right now, but no one wants to take them in. Khalid Sheikh Muhammad is charged with murder and war crimes. Ali Hamza al-Bahlul, 39, guilty of conspiracy and providing material support to terrorism.6 other detainies are being charged with aiding in the terrorist attack on 9-11. Others are being held and possible charged with attacks on the Cole, and the attacks on Us Embassies. You can google it, it comes up everywhere,
All the information isnt available to everyone, and wont be for some time considering the nature of Classified information. But they have charged over 20 of the worst guys in GITMO and have released over 500 people back to their own countries.
Considering your an Obama wingman you should understand his words about the people in Gitmo best. They can not be tried as civilians because the civilian legal system is not able to handle the classification issue and the terrorist acts issue.
If your willing to attack another human once you will do it again. Dont fool yourself into thinking GITMO created made them terrorist. If your logic is correct and we create a worse terrorist problem by letting them out then we should just kill them or keep em locked up. Thank you for the advice, it sounds like Obama plans to keep them in jail for a long time like you suggested.
As far as torture. You wont ever understand that torture is a large and complicated thing. Its not black and white. If a CIA agent uses a light to make you talk thats considered torture. If a terrorist cuts off all your fingers and lights your privates on fire its torture too. Different levels of toture are out there. What people are complaining that the US did was on the lowest level of torture, and what the terrorist do is on the most extreme level. Its still wrong to do it no matter what level, but its not an equal comparision and therefore your "if the US does it they can do it" BS arguement is not valid. Your comparing apples and oranges. Hell my wog hazing was worse then most of the CIA's tortures they do.
And again Sushi the commision would like to know when and where you want these wonderful peacful people. You might want to start getting futons ready for them all. :)

I havent blamed Obama for anything Bush did. I was pointing out the fact that since he won the elections things have become worse. During the campaign you and your crew of merry haters said over and over that when he wins the election the whole world would change for the better. That hasnt happened, and most likely wont happen. I dont dislike Obama at all, but I also dont think he is the answer to the issues. I also dont kid myself into thinking one man is going to Change anything. But you and your crew think he will save the world.
Moderator: Enough of this nonsense. You will focus your comments on the story not at each other.

*As I said, if you bother to read messages at all, his coming into office will have a positive ripple effect around the globe. In fact, it already has in many cases; people world-wide have welcomed Obama and are eager to work with him. *
What affect is going to happen that wouldnt have already happened knowing he won the election. Since Obama won the election we have had more civil unrest in the world, more conflicts started in the world, and more unstable relations in the world. So what affect is going to happen? people may of been happy when he promised the moon to mary, but over the months since his win he has double talked his way out of many of the promises he made. I have heard many people who voted for him sigh and say "hes no different then the rest" .
Listing Bush's have done list is just a way to take the focus off my questions. Bush made a ton of mistakes in my opinion, its just par for course when it comes to political leaders.
My Grammar was right for Bush who lost the election on November 4th (see past tense) and Obama won the election (see "past tense") on that day we went from the frying pan into the fire. But thank you again for the English lesson, do you want me to pay for your coffee too?
And considering I am American and I live in Japan (and travel all over Asia) you would think I would hear from the masses of people you always say hate Americans, but I've only meet a few. Ive also meet just as many who hate British, Canadian, and other western countries.
Obama has already gone back on many promises and he hasnt even taken the oath yet. Its sad and hard to say for those who praised him as a saviour of the world, but it is true he has backpeddled on many of his campaign promises.

Well Gitmo is open for suggestions. How do you prove a man who shoots at you in war is guilty of anything more then that?
The part people like Sushi dont want to understand is that they are part of a terrorist group. The information of what they have done or havent done isnt public information its found out by intelligence gathering. The charges are not that of a civilian court. What do you do if you release one of them because you want to look good politically and he turns around and does the next big terror attack?
As far as the Foriegn fights. Some should be sent to there own countries. The rest can go to SushiSaki's house because they are just innocent people who are jailed for no reason. Please remember to hug each one of them Sushi when they come to your house. Are you going to have a welcome party for them? j/k :)
Some complain about things because its easier then actually providing a solution.

Here is the one of the most idiotic statements I have heard in my life.
"Only a few days left until a REAL leader takes office, and that is quite comforting, as it will have a good ripple affect around the world."
January 20th Obama will become the President of the US. That is a truth.
Real Leader takes office. How do you know he is anything close to a REAL leader? Is it because he is half Black? Is it because he is a Democrate? Could it be because your want him to be?
How is it comforting to have Obama become President of the US to a Canadian who lives in Japan? Will his presence create world peace? Will the economy fly out of economical woes because he became President?
What "good ripple affect" is going to happen around the world? Are all the countries at war with each other going to stop all of a sudden? Will babies all be born healthy? Will people who insult others become mature? Will people grasp hands and sing we are the world?
Truth is very easy to find here. Since November 4th the stock market has slipped farther and farther down. The world has had more conflict today then it did November 3rd. Companies around the world are failing left and right at a rate unseen before November 4th. The Futre will show us if Obama actually has an affact on people, Business, or anything at all.
Many on this site said as soon as Obama won the election the economy would spike up, the stockmarket would rally up and stay up, and the world would welcome the peace Obama brings.
Other then the part of Obama taking over the presidency on the 20th none of Smith's statement is factual or most likely going to happen. Its like most of the posts by that type of person, Fantasy.
Be realistic and take him for what he is. Dont put him up so high that when he falls he dies. He has a chance to make minute changes and maybe just maybe in 4 years we the people of America will reelect him. He may also do what he has already started to do, renig on all his promises. He may put us so far in debt we cant see light any more. Then in 4 years we elect someone else, and maybe they can give it a shot. But one thing you can guarentee is that he isnt going to be the GOD smith wants him to be.
If Obama was to say prosecute Bush he would be signing his own warrent for his arrest in 4 years. If Bush was such a criminal then what about all the other leaders in the world_?
Once a hater always a hater. and to say 6 billion of the 6,700,000,000 people on this Earth hate Bush is just being a hater and an ignorant person. Many hate him, but most dont care one way or another about him.
Personaly Im glad Bush is out of office in 6 days, but I think we went from the frying pan into the fire.

Smith.
Breath deep. Exhale. Relax.
Considering the war became unpopular, the past president was also brought to court, the way politicians use the courts as a way to make a point, and other simple reasons we can see why Bush pardoned himself.
Did he break laws? Yes just like every president we have had, every congress person we have had, and every other political leader we have had. Is he goingt o be charged with an actual crime? No it wouldnt look good for the US and they wont do it.
Im still waiting for the day some on here will find a new person to slam so I dont have to read the same lame arguements from both sides all the time. Maybe in 6 months we will have the new target of the haters here on JT. 7 more days for Bush to be the fuel for the haters.

Loyalties aside, to defend the actions of a terrorist group as the only means to solve a situation is just foolish. And to defend Hamas as just is just idiotic.
Israel has to be the bigger man in this situation and attempt to create peace, but I dont think they will. I feel bad for the innocents caught up in the idiotic actions of Hamas( and those who think they are a just group) and Israels goverment (and those who think that violence will reduce violence).

Athletes..
Basing was the word I wanted to use. An honor is being given to a former President and people just want ot bash on his son for any reason. Thats what being a hater is. excerragerate ? What is this? Please explain that word.
As far as Sushi Saki.. I guess the future will tell us if anything he did is notable enough to build anything in his name. But he has done things that have been considered right to most people of the US at some times considering he had a very good approval rating when he took office and maintained it for quite awhile.
Actually Smith and Taka you can prove he wasnt AWOL, if he had been officially AWOL he would have the DH on his DD214, or in his record (hard copy)would be a mention of the Awol.
It also seems Sr had the highest approval rating at one time of any president. (it was at 89% which leads me to believe that he may have had both parties liking him.) He finished his term at a rating of 29%. Makes me wonder why Smith talks about SR like he was a horrid president considering he had ratings that matched Clinton, Carter, and others when he departed as president.
Some of the things the first Bush did that are very note worthy are, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990/ Clean Air Act /Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), and other note worthy items.

Always good to reinforce the fact theat doing wrong pays well. When will people learn that giving them money just makes them braver and more likely to take the chance to do it again.

Shame on Israel for going after the guys firing mortar shells at them for the last 3 weeks, Shame on them for waiting and waiting for Hamas to control its people, shame on them for letting their people die because they didnt want to listen to those opposed to everything say Shame on Israel.
Come on I think anyone can see they took a lot of abuse before they acted on it. Shame on all the people who think its ok for one side to bomb the crap out of innocents, and not ok for that side to respond in kind.
Obama supports Israel and is giving them the same go ahead all presidents of the US have since the ww2. Keep dreaming Obama is the peace loving none violent savior of the world.

Madverts, considering my Father was the owner of many autorepair centers, and I owned my own repair and sales center for years I have to disagree with you. Considering it wasnt uncommon for american made cars in my area to have 200k + without major repairs, I find it hard to swallow your story. Also considering that I have worked on all makes of vehicles and have owned every major brand and find that reliablity of the vehicle is a vehicle to vehicle thing and not brand specific. When I retired my 64 valiant convertible it had 385k on its slant six and had no major work on it ever. When I retired my Supra it had 200k on it but had some major work done over the years. I also have owned multiple work trucks (tow trucks) and found the best one I ever had for reliability and ability was a Chevy 3+3 one ton.
I have worked on Honda's, Toyota's, Nissan's, Ford's, GM's, and Chrysler's and I have seen some of each brand with major miles and no major work and I have seen some of each brand that didnt make it to 50k without major work.

Lmao Smith you act as you know anyone and everyone.
Name one person I have said is guilty without proof he was? You cant becasue I have never said anything of the such. I actually say they are innocent until proven guilty. If the brother had visited him and seen him and said he was a mess then I would believe him, but he did, hasmt, and with that I cant take his account as fact nor truth.
LMAO. please look past your tunnel and actually see something other then your doomsday BS all the time.
Your swwing you miss you swing again and again. Why dont you just give up and stop trying to label everyone who isnt on your warped logic side?
As far as getting blood on the ground after a take down. You sure havent been a person taking someone down before. I suggest since I doubt you can get the hands one aspect of a takledown you should watch a show like cops. Blood happens a lot when taken down a perp.

Earth to Yuritani... come in please.
American cars are built just fine and have just as high ratings in durability, longevity, and customer satifaction as Japanese cars.
Also American cars are not Larger then the Japanese cars in general. If you consider a toyota Crown wouldnt fit in your (10000 yen) parking spot. I guess you dont live in Tokyo considering the amount of non Japanese cars here is staggering, and that most parking spots here are 20000-40000 yen a month minimum.
Maybe you should take some time and research a bit about vehicles before you spout, maybe you wouldnt sound so ignorant about them.

Blah blah blah again Smith.
Im posting on the article and not what I think happened or what is my dream that happened.
Smith only beating I get is your post "beating" around the article and ignoring what they said. I do love your way of creating the story as it goes and look forward to more additions to it from you.
Adaydream I saw the take down posted on the Geektube your quoting, and Ive taken down people before as an Officer so I understand from the video that he could have gotten black and blue from a take down. I would love for you top show me how you can say what happened at the take down when the video doesnt show anything of it other then the top of the SS and Iraqi guards, and not the perp. But hey your on par with Smith on the make it up as it goes thing.
I can only go by what the ARTICLE is saying and it is confirming he was "beat" at the takedown time, and only has bruises on his face and eyes (not broken arms and such as Smith quotes over and over).
And Smith Im not 100% sure what happened just as I Know you (even with your story creating powers) are not 100% sure what happened. But I do have the story posted and in that story it states the facts as known right now. I never said they couldnt/wouldnt/shouldnt beat the man, but I also didnt try to create a alter story like you are trying to do.
Sezwho2 from the article it says he wrote the letter, I am going to guess the Judge asked him if he wrote it (I know Im going on an assumption here, but I would ask that question if I was the judge) and thats why the judge stated that to the press.
I think likitis is correct in this post, we dont know for sure what happened, we can only go by the information provided by the people who have seen him.
If you see him Smith or Adaydream then please take pictures and report it so we can find the truth, until then we have to take the judges word for it until proven wrong or right.
And one last thing. Maybe just maybe Smith **someone is telling the truth **and he wasnt forced to write it and maybe he wasnt beat to do it. Maybe just maybe you had a life where you have to question everyone because they abused you or used you, but I tend to believe the people until they are proven wrong, kinda like innocent until proven guilty.

Smith how do you come up with your warped logic of "guess they can no longer deny the man was beaten and coerced into requesting the pardon. "
since the story said. Friday into the beating of an Iraqi journalist moments after he threw his shoes at President George W Bush. Which says he got injured in the taking down right after the shoe throwing and not beat in the jail for a confession.
and this statement The judge also confirmed that al-Zeidi had written a letter of apology to al-Maliki
Which says he did it on his own and not beat to do it.
Talk about stating what you want it to be instead of the actual info posted in the article.
As for the rest of your arguement, well thats destroyed in the above two statements from the article.

I would believe the man penned a letter to get out of jail. Hes in jail looking at bars, it changes a persons attitude very quickly. Also the letter is to the PM and asked the PM to forgive him for insulting the country not Bush. He hasnt changeds his stand at all. Really should read the article or the 10000000000 other ones on line right now.
