To have almost 40% of your party vote no then turn around and blame others is kinda stupid..

Your point is correct that the bill was started by the White House then modified and rewrote by the Senate, so in the end the bill was a brand new bill written by the democates and the Republicans in the Senate.. You are also correct if only 52% of the house (democrates) voted it would of passed, but then 48% of the population of America wouldnt have been represented.

I would rather have the bill fail because the majority of the peoples elected congressmen followed what seems to be a majority of the Americans opinion then pass because we dont want to listen to all of the people..

I lost allot of money last night in my stocks, but I also believe most Americans dont want this bailout the way it was written...

It is strange to say the bill failed because the republicans showed up to to vote and that caused the vote to fail, if the democrates wanted the bill to pass as a group then it would of, but they didnt and it failed. It cant be said the other way, you cant say the republicans could of passed the bill without the democrates..

To blame just one side is stupid period!!

Strange seems more democrates voted no then yes

    Correction

Seems strange many democrates voted no,

In all, 65 Republicans joined 140 Democrats in voting “yes,” while 133 Republicans and 95 Democrats voted “no.”

Strange seems more democrates voted no then yes, Maybe the Democrate party needs to get their guys in "line" too... Or maybe some of the politicians figured it out, elections are based on votes you make and the people dont want a bail out.....

By my math 95+65+140=300 for it if the Democrates wanted it.......

Why does it matter if the Republicans vote no the House has a democrate majority and it didnt pass...

Im thinking it has to do with Americans dont want to pay for businesses tht dont practic good business...

I lost a ton today, but I still am on the edge about if the bail out is good, I hate to pay for some fat lazy executive to make money when he fails at running the company proper...

Sad to hear that she died..

With that said, the attack on the taliban was not a major US operation, in fact it was very few American military involved. Seems strange that anyone remembers it any other way... It was mostly Tailiban troops called the Afghan Northern Alliance..

From Wiki..... with ground forces supplied primarily by the Afghan Northern Alliance. In 2002, American, British and Canadian infantry were committed, along with special forces from several allied nations. Later, NATO troops were added.

Seems strange that USAFdude and TheNewfed are never posting the same time... maybe they are the same 15 year old who uses 100 scrren names and makes post to see reaction...

The Taliban were not originally terrorists

Tell that to an Afghan woman!!!

Youdontknow at 02:43 PM JST - 29th September

This is one place I would like to go and visit, but I have one concern: does it glorify the American way and condemn the Japanese? I know that what happened that day was not justified, but nor would I want to go to any museum that shows hatred to its foes as still being a current issue. If I wanted to see that kind of thing, I could always try North Korea and visit their museums which are geared towards nothing but hating the USA!

Maybe you should use your fingers to type in a search instead of rambling on:) It is vistited by Japanese every day and they dont find it offensive..

Obama hasnt done anything against the Vets that I know of, he did vote no to a bill that was going to have a no withdraw date, and he didnt like it. As a whole the goverment failed the troops, just as I feel Clinton did while I served. To not provide proper funding is horrid... I want to believe one of the elected two would make a change but in my life time I havent seen true change just empty promises.....

I cant wait for the VP debate it will be a blast..... I have a case chilling for it and have cleared my schedule, I expect some big mistakes from the younger one, and some unique comments from both sides, maybe she will shock us and wow us with words.....

"For all the focus on Friday night’s deadlocked debate

thank you for pointing out that politically they where even and not a blow out from either side, what happens before or after doesnt matter to what I posted... The debate was close to even, anything more then that is just favortism for one side or the other...

Try to see things from the middle and not always on the most extreme side you can find...

I still think that Obama didnt do as well as McCain due to the way he conducted himself during the debate. Next debate he maybe will learn to be more in line and then my opinion might change.

When you always use extremist logic it pushes people farther away from your selected side... Your no different then the name changer who spouts about McCain and Bush being the greatest to me when you use such extremist talk..

Maybe I will write in this year.... seems like the only real option out there..

-------------MCCAIN----- OBAMA Income Avg. tax bill Avg. tax bill

    Over $2.9M -$269,364 +$701,885 $603K and up -$45,361 +$115,974 $227K-$603K -$7,871 +$12 $161K-$227K -$4,380 -$2,789 $112K-$161K -$2,614 -$2,204 $66K-$112K -$1,009 -$1,290 $38K-$66K -$319 -$1,042 $19K-$38K -$113 -$892 Under $19K -$19 -$567

Seems to me the only place that they differ is on the 65k a year and lower and the 161k and above... So the tru middle class.. Those as a family who make 60k or more will see no real advantage, but the low income people will see a tax break from Obama. but current tax laws make it so easy at that level of income to pay no taxes as it is...

Please explain to me what you consider a middle class family??? I consider it 50-200k a year as a family...

    Even CNN says

The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey is not a measurement of the views of all Americans, since only people who watched the debate were questioned and the audience included more Democrats than Republicans.

Fifty-one percent of those polled thought Obama did the better job in Friday night's debate, while 38 percent said John McCain did better.

Men were nearly evenly split between the two candidates, with 46 percent giving the win to McCain and 43 percent to Obama. But women voters tended to give Obama higher marks, with 59 percent calling him the night's winner, while just 31 percent said McCain won.

"**It can be reasonably concluded, especially after accounting for the slight Democratic bias in the survey, that we witnessed a tie in Mississippi tonight," CNN Senior Political Researcher Alan **

I think Mcdonalds food is the worst thing you can possibly eat. it makes you fat, poisons your body, tastes awful and is far worse quality than it's minor competitors such as MOSBURGER, FRESHNESS BURGER,even LOTTERIA. dont eat it.

Actually eating any fast food isnt that bad for you unless you live on them.. I think eating 焼肉 with 5 beers is most likely worse for you but we do it every Friday here:)

Mcrib is so proccesed but it is good to eat once and a while... I want a taco bell here now!!!!!!!!!

    "Obama pasted McCain last night"

Since most non one sided groups say it was even in the fact that neither made any huge mistake and neither actually gave a good answer. Only poll that is Obama sided was conducted with an uneven amount of Democrates vs Republicans so it wasnt a true test. All the others say it was even and considering McCain is more of a foriegn policy person they feel it looks better for Obama. Some sites say Obama was to rigid and didnt have any personality in his speach stating it was to rehearsed and not real. So neither of them beat the other in a grand way. Anyone who says other wise has tunnel vision and cant admit it was a fairly even debate..

What this article forgets to add is that last line on the original article.. The poll was heavily in favor of the Democrate as 41% of the people polled were Democrate 29% Republican and 30% independent..

Seems like a very important part of a poll when you have uneven numbers of each politic party...
