Don't know of any ma'am in the country that makes miso caramel cookies. But who knows what that Elly May is up to nowadays. Sun's coming up, got cakes on the griddle. Life ain't nothing but a funny, funny riddle. Thank God I'm a country boy.

Of course his actions were heroic but he shouldn't have had to do that. Please put up barriers on all JR platforms, Japan. It will save many lives in the future. Sure it will cost. But it's the right thing to do.

Maybe "slim new form" would have been better. You can be a sleek fatty in the right clothes.

Actually, just Wikied it and it's a fictional base called "Camp Henderson". In the words of Pyle, "Suprise, surprise, surprise!"

The New York burger setto was OK, for 730 yen. Nothing to write home about. At least they have some vegetables in there - a tomato slice and some lettuce. They need to work on crisping up the bacon. Few people in Japan seem to know that bacon should be somewhat crispy. As it is now, you get some rubbery strips of close to raw pork fat and that kind of ruins the experience.

Cute couple. More of the younguns should follow their example. I like the double power stones Ebizo is wearing on his wrist too. I guess the dude needs a lot of kinetic support.

Over the years people have gotten so used to seeing Imperial stormtroopers on the streets of Tokyo that this photo hard seems worth commenting on. In fact, it would be good if actual J-Cops started wearing stormtrooper armor. Maybe then they'd get some more respect.

Nice try with the gold necktie picked out by Mrs. Hatoyama no doubt. But a Dapper Dan PM can't change the hard facts of impropriety. When in doubt, he can always say, "Yes we Kan."

Nice composition. The photographer noticed that the smoke from the smoke stack arched down to the pedestrian. Not exactly the Rainbow Connection.

Yes, the U.S. always acts to take the lead because no one else wants to. President Obama must be thinking, "Two wars, the worse economy since the Great Depression, global warming, and now this. What's next?"

What is striking is the commitment people in the U.S. government have expressed in rebuilding Haiti for the long term, not just for the most pressing relief operations. Of course Japan is far away from Haiti and should not be expected to play any kind of leading role in those efforts, but it should certainly be joining the world community to help one stricken corner of the human family. (Still waiting for any kind of statement on Haiti from Hatoyama). If any good can come of this tragedy, it may be a chance, as Michael Jackson said, for "the world to come together as one."

Yes, I know that the Taiwanese rescue workers are there as well. Japan will be doing clean up in the third wave apparently.

Even if it's a photo op, Chinese rescue workers are there already on the scene. Rather telling, don't you think? Times have changed. China rising as a world citizen, Japan in decline.

Yeah, that about sums it up: tens of thousands of people on the other side of the world dead, millions made homeless and nobody cares. How is this different from China's big quake? Remember that? It's a disgrace for Japan.
