Take a look at those expensive cameras. These old guys have money to burn. Life is pretty good when the pension is trickling in and your only worry is what shot to take. But hey, they worked hard all their lives for their Kodak moment.

Canned coffee is much like canned laughter--it seems to fill a void, but one immediately notices something's not quite right about it.

Waste of time and resources. It's kind of like a Rube Goldberg machine--you know, a complicated piece of machinery just to crack an egg.

Hey, those Frixions are great pens. They sure beat the American Papermate Replay erasable pens in terms of functionality.

Sarge, try WolframAlpha and you'll find your answer. It's (2x10^11 to 4x10^11) by the way. Pretty humongous, ain't it? And that's just one galaxy out of billions and billions more out there.

I've been to this place. Decent sushi. Branson must be thinking "Wow, I've haven't seen so much ginger since the last season of Gulligan's Island."

I agree with Motyrah now that I've finally seen it. There's plenty to please the old-time fans in new Trek (catch the sound the transporters? And an old Eddie Murphy joke about Orion women comes back to life) as well newbies. All in all, Abrams set the right tone -- a 1960s "Gee Whiz" quality that is hard not to like.

These guys should watch "Planet of the Apes" again to see how it feels from the other side. The humans were on the ones getting the experimental injections from the apes.

The company promotes the toilet paper, which will sell for 210 yen a roll, as “a horror experience in the toilet.”
Yeah, I had one of those experiences this morning after I ate some bad gyoza last night.

I did that once and got a nasty backache. That's why they call it mikoshi, cuz when your back goes out you say "Oh, mi koshi, mi friggin koshi!" (Yeah, it's a recycled joke from yours truly)

Ah, yes, the iconic Frank Gorshin (Batman's Riddler) episode, "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", a clever commentary on the insanity of race hatred. Sure, Obama's the President, but the message is as relevant today as it was in 1968, unfortunately. The last lines were memorable:
SULU: But their planet's dead. Does it matter now which one's right? SPOCK: Not to Lokai and Bele. All that matters to them is their hate. UHURA: Do you suppose that's all they ever had, sir? KIRK: No, but that's all they have left.
Warping out music and ends credits...

What a bunch of hype! This fossil skeleton is a common ancestor of both apes and humans, a branch that split off tens of millions of years ago. It ain't no "missing link" connecting apes with humans. We already knew that primates split off from monkeys eons ago. This is not news!

Bdiego, sorry to disagree with you but Claudius is informed by a Federation dude, Captain R. M. Merik (a.k.a. Merikus), so his source is quite reliable. "Laying waste to the entire surface of the world" means that the Enterprise has the ability to do it (which was my original point), regardless of the capability of the planet to defend itself. On this planet, ancient Rome is the entire planet, not just Italy and Europe.
