In case somebody really wants an honest answer, SMAP stands for "Sports Music Assemble People" in very Japanese-sounding weird English. Don't ask me what "assemble people" means. They are better cooks than they are singers, that's for damn sure.

TBS did call Mr. Hawker and asked him, idiotically, "Have you talked to other people about this?" And he replied, "No, because I am talking to you right now on the phone." Not only disgraceful but at least they could have thought up some better questions.

"Jackie Brown" was cool and likable, thanks to Samuel L. Jackson mainly. He also saves "Pulp Fiction" from being a self-indulgent mess. But Tarentino lost me with the "Kill Bill" flicks. Maybe it's not so much that Tarentino films are so good; most Sam Jackson films tend to be good…
