The baby probably survived because of the soft soil and the vegetation on top of it, according to TV reports this morning. If he had landed on the concrete just a few meters to the side, his fate would have been very different. Lucky indeed. For the kid.

Ha ha ha. Thank you Japan Today for changing the headline right after smartacus and I mentioned "dog poop". I guess that'll draw more hits.

I'm sure the choice from Japan would have been Steve Jobs (since AKB48 and Nadeshiko Japan were never in the running). He seems to have quite a following here.

Actually, isn't Konishiki a naturalized Japanese now? So it's just another of example of two Japanese having an argument over some dog poop.

Just a minor glitch. The Eurofighter is looking better and better all the time.

Oh, mon mistake! But I see some similarity between the Eurofighter Typhoon and the French Mirage, which is another sexy plane.

Glad to hear I made you laugh, globalwatcher. I still think the Eurofighter is sexier looking. Something about the French design sensibility. Le Elegance.

This was a no-brainer. With a rising China and aggressive North Korea, Japan obviously chose to go with the best fighter they could buy. You don't do bargain shopping for national defense.

They went with the Raptor over the Eurofighter -- why go for economy when you can pay for First Class? That said, I think the Eurofighter is a sexier looking plane. The Raptor is butt ugly but it kicks butt.

He lived a long and happy life. There was a MAS*H episode in which he was the last surviving World War I veteran from his troop and mourning his buddies. In a sense, he lived out that TV script by outliving most of his generation. Funny how life imitates art.

This is nothing to worry about it. The cesium was everywhere in the air around that time. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The baby formula got contaminated through the hot air drying process--hot air was the culprit. So if it's in the air, it's in everything already.
