I always got him confused with the other great Sydney director--Sydney Lumet. Both are/were actors' directors. The movies will always be with us. I especially liked his nefarious character in Eyes Wide Shut.

Without Mariah Carey there would have been no Christina Aguilera, who basically ripped off (or should I say paid homage to) her singing style. No matter what you think of her, she has been influential.
