I'd tell the boss that overtime on short notice is something to be offered, not demanded. Nobody in Japan seems to understand that 'overtime' is a term for extra work whereby you get paid at a higher hourly rate - usually time and a half. Otherwise, it's just working late.

What isn't made clear here is if they were pornographic pictures, or just nudes. Of course, making child pornography is disgusting, but if it's just kids swimming of playing in the street where's the harm in that? Generally speaking, translator, we use 'nude' to denote artistically acceptable nakedness, while unacceptable…

It's extremely unlikely that many birds will be killed directly by the wind turbines - the biggest problem is that the birds avoid them and then their migration patterns may become disrupted. The wind turbines also prevent ground nesting birds.

What an idiot! Why didn't he say he had no idea how it got there? Of course, no-one would have believed him, but if he had stuck to his guns no-one could have proved it was his marijuana, what with the wallet being out of his possession for so long.

Japanese elementary schools are excellent, but the junior high and high schools leave a lot to be desired, at least judging from the kids I get at technical college. Still, I don't exactly get the cream of the crop, so what do I know?

Why all this fuss about The Joker? What about Jim Carey's multi-faceted, seminal depiction of The Riddler? Or Arnie's deeply profound Mr Freeze?
