North Korea needs a lesson in holding it's tongue. Threatening a "nuclear war" takes things to a whole new level - one they're probably not ready to play on yet. While the north might have a crude nuke or two the US can deliver on target in 20 minutes or less (or the next one's free!) and reduce Kim-ville to wasteland before he can say boo!

Well done Amy! It's good to see organizations like yours making a difference in the lives of so many children! I've done many volunteer activities for orphanages in my local area and the kids love it (and need it!) Keep up the excellent work!

I have two young children so I spend alot of time taking them back and forth to daycare five days a week. What I see horrifies me! I would say only about 10% of parents in Japan use child safety seats and then only for infants (who would otherwise roll off the seat.) Everyday the norm is kids standing in the front seat, jumping around in the back, and even laying on the wide dashboards of the vans right in front of the stupid mothers behind the wheel!
Police enforcement is zero until an accident happens. Last month a car in front of me got pulled over in one of the local keystone cops seatbelt "campaigns" and there were two toddlers jumping in the front passenger seat (but the driver was wearing her seatbelt) and the keystones waved her through without hesitation!
Another factor is what appears to be the high cost of child seats in Japan. In the USA and other countries the prices are much lower for good quality seats; here in Japan a good car seat can set you back 15 to 20,000 Yen or more! There are great bargains on safety seats in the recycling shops and I do see (the smart 10%) buying them up!
I really wish the J-government would put more emphasis on child safety, and not only in cars! educational campaigns can only go so far. How about vouchers for free car safety seats to those on limited incomes? Want to enroll you little ones in daycare? Show that you have the required seats in your car first! Keystones, ticket drivers not using car seats and then hand them a voucher for a free car seat (then inspect a few days later to make sure they comply!)
Do something people! Children are dying because of parent's stupidity!

My wife has given similar replies to "this is Japan, it's normal" when I complain about people doing idiotic things. My reply is "this is EARTH, it's STUPID!" I hope the little girl recovers from this tragic accident.

If his family got special treatment it's because they deserved it! He gave his life for his country and his son is an American citizen regardless of where he was born. His wife and child is being welcomed by his family and I wish her the best in the USA!

The time to plug the WikiLeak with a Predator Hellfire is near! I have friends who's lives are now in danger from this piece of sh$t so I have no problem endorsing his assassination! I had access to classified information for 20 years and upheld the trust my government put in me. To this day I hold that responsibility near and dear. Mr Assange is a traitor and deserves the punishment a traitor should receive!

Ask most Japanese what Unit 731 was and they'll answer with a blank stare! Most Japanese belive the only war atrocities commited were the atomic bombings of thier cities. My Japanese wife even admits to not knowing about unit 731 and when I told her she said it was American propoganda and nothing like that ever happened.
