Thanks for the info jackfish. 17 days before it would have been choice what she did. Totally legal. Now it is murder. Perhaps it always is taking of a life, legal or not.

National security. Has to be. For didn't Britain just buy Japanese trains? Wasn't there just a statement against protectionism on JT? Must be national security.

Where are the pro-choice folks? Really, the caregiver should be given a bit more respect for the work they do. No money and no time. I might suggest giving a monthly stipend to play with. Could afford even a baby sitter for a night out. Husbands working all the time is also an issue that the government in Japan is trying to address for new families. Grandparents were nearby as well. Pretty lame excuse.

It is a dilemma. Put your countrymen to work or somebody else's? Short term help for your people for a long term global problem. I do not know. I personally would buy a Japanese car in Japan and an American one in the USA. Just to help the neighbors near me.

In Global trade it is good. I hope the Japanese in turn buy things from Britain to be produced in Japan.

DarkKnghtZ and Alphaape - good posts. What is this 'jilted' stuff? Like it is a joke for Gates. It is very immoral behavior for many people.

Why do they have windows like this in the schools? No sense of safety. Like that Mom walking ahead of her 2yo and the 2yo got run over by a car. Just incredible. I would sue the school, if such a thing existed. If people could sue in Japan, a lot of dangerous unsafe areas would disappear.

People become complacent here about road dangers. Otherwise, they would just be a nervous wreck. Scooters can't keep up with traffic, two lane one lane roads with kids playing, bicycles, pedestrians etc. One cannot even walk out of ones front door without a car possibly hitting you. Blind corners everywhere. People become complacent. Very sad for this family. How I miss the good old USA in this regards.

The driver wasn't caught. Why? There are license plates. People saw it.

As far as I understand it, Chavez put the fear of God into owners of capital. I think he was rather ruthless. Yes there is a peaceful path to a more equitable distribution of goods but Chevez just took. The Hondurans who owned capital did not want the same to happen. So...I hope they find a peaceful solution that benefits everyone.

teleprompter you make me laugh. Anyway, doesn't that island belong geographically and culturally to the Ainu? Chinese took it over for awhile. Then the Russians and Japanese shared it for awhile. Whose island is it? YuriOtani has a point. But I also think Japan, SK and the US have taken this into consideration in the contracts. One must.

Perhaps. Maybe buy stock in that company. But maybe it is hype or spin. These claims have to be tested by an outside source.

In Iran, we saw that young girl being killed and it was recorded via a cell phone. Kids should learn how to use the cell phone to take pictures and video, to record things. Even a sound recorded could prove to be useful. Children are safer with cell phones. In Japan, the children are left alone to their own devices quite a bit. A cell phone could record a situation better than hearsay. One observant middle schooler stated in the US, "Why? What are they trying to hide!" by banning cell phone use. cleo's post is also very good advice.

MagnusGarstin China has the USA worried. NK is nothing. Rumsfeld worked with India and Japan to contain China (same weapon systems etc.). No one can contain China alone. Together we can. Now for NK. Let Japan go for it with US support, of course (Got to keep China at bay). Like a poster above said, shoot the plane down please. But maybe your Lawyer is right. Anything is possible. China would love to see Japan alone. Pay back...

Strange stuff. Gay Exorcism? Mother Teresa's Exorcism? http://www.bibleprobe.com/exorcism.htm. I have seen JT posters needing one;-) Just defeat one of these posters in reason and watch the tongue start lashing out, eyes rolling, head on backwards, green puke, foul smells and language that leaves one speechless, all in defense of ones position. I do not know what is out there, but Jesus spoke to something. Perhaps it was just personified sin or the effects of such. The hatred and judgment of some? But let this be clear. An action may always be condemned but the culpability may be mitigated because of good intentions based on an error of judgment. I do not know about exorcism and kind of find it a bit weird. But the love of the creator is all around. In sunsets etc. The Pope wrote that a Christian is basically a Good Person. Let us all be one.

Very Sad. The roads are one of the biggest disappointments in Japan. Buses drive down some very narrow roads. Pedestrians and bicyclist should have the right of way and everyone should allow them the respect due to them. I see drivers giving little room to others on many many narrow roads. The police might enforce safe driving as well. It is almost unbearable and may have cost this child his life.

"Liberty Fraternity Equality" : Whose liberty? Whose fraternity? Whose equality? This famous French cry should be for all. Most importantly in the economy. Post Christian Europe is becoming myoptic. Christian Catholic thought is universal. Take it away and you have worship of self and culture. The others are outsiders. We must be thankful for what our culture has given but rise above it to a common humanity. We all share a common Earth, n'est pas.
