Mostly what I have done is point out that others have no facts. I have presented few myself. The definitions of pedophile, ephebophile and hebephile are readily available on the net. Just be mindful of the difference between the psychological definition of pedophile as opposed to the legal one, and also to the quiltwork of misconception dangerously and incorrectly applied by the layman with pitchfork in hand.

I don't smoke. I don't smoke anything. And why you aim that at me is bizarre. Your latest post is full of radical assumptions with absolutely no basis. You don't know what his desire was, you don't know his mental maturity (as if its measurable), you don't know if he took advantage, and probably for her mental maturity is just not good enough.
I have no daughters, but if I did my rules would be simple: I want to know who she is sleeping with. So long as he is kind and sincere, I don't care his age. I would not want her prostituting, but as far as that goes, one must have perspective. Most of us pay for the company of females one way or another.

If we are going to launch into such a human rights nightmare, I would rather go after violent and coercive offenders, no matter who their victims are. But some guy who dated a 14 year old and treated her like a princess? Or even a 12 year old? Not my tax money, no thanks. But tag the violent and coercive and I will say little about it.

That is quite a rock in the road of her thinking. Women should be able to choose the counseling they want. If any two legally recognized/or licensed judges, counselors, doctors, elected officials or yes, even priests, offered and gave counseling, that should be that. Women should be allowed to seek the kind of counseling they want, and get the signatures of the people they respect. And if they have them, they should be able to get their abortion. I suppose the signature of the father of the child should also count, if he wants to sign, as well as the mother and father of the woman.

Its not so much that the laws on the books need to be enforced more. So many of them are practically unenforceable. How you going to practically stop someone converting a legally bought semi-auto AK-47 to fully automatic without Big Brother tactics? America's laws on guns are so watered down and disjointed they are not of much use. This is just another slaughter we can thank the NRA for. If they would dedicate their knowledge and hearts to creating a balanced and workable strategy for gun control unstead of just being a reactive, balking, pain in the butt mule whenever other people come up with those laws, everybody would be happy.
Even I admit that often times the anti-gun people don't know their stuff. Even sometimes I wish they would shut up. So the NRA and others should do something constructive to shut them up, instead of just being so damned stubborn and destructive all the time.

Okay. So now its age difference, not age, at least until 18, where age of consent laws account for it, but not where they don't?. God, if you sat down and thought about this you would give yourself a MASSIVE headache. Prepare a bottle of Tylenol before you make the attempt please.
Such a meandering course, yet you found your way to a clearing in the woods. Now its time to ask yourself why is such a non-universal moral judgement is a part of law, on which you base what is natural and unnatural? I am afraid that the clearing you found is only deeper in the forest and very near a precipice.

Okay. So pedophilia is a pathology he says. And he wants to keep track of the mentally ill? Well, there is money and a potential mandate in it, so why not? And other countries will be relieved for five seconds and then redouble the outcry on whaling, dolphin slaughter, and parental abduction. But hey, that five seconds of international respect could work for Hashimoto!
Good thing he did not suggest tracking and tagging convicted murderers. There would be a human rights outcry otherwise.

So you say. But other people would point out his age and hers as being the problem, still another would point out the age difference (which is a bit of a different point), others would claim the problem is that he paid, yet others would say it was because there was no actual relationship. You seem to be saying the problem is that she had sex, but would you say the same if her partner were 15? Even if he paid? What is the difference? But, the article does not say she had sex. It says they engaged in "sexual acts".
Mixed up, topsy-turvey, inconsistent, unfounded and details fudged. Seems to be par for the course for most commentary on this and related topics. Just reading the words "teen sex" seems to have the same effect as LSD on some people. I was addressing the psychological aspect of the situation in my post anyway, so I don't know why we had to get into actions. I don't see a psychological problem here on either side either way though. There just isn't enough detail to know. All we know for sure is that there is a legal problem, and for some, a moral problem. But given the psychology for both here and him have problem with those legal and moral "problems".
Sure, we all want to protect young people. The law and morality are like a shield. But that does mean that everything that gets past the shield is an arrow tipped with poison. And too large a shield is a problem in itself. Like I said, no harm, no foul. In cases like this, that maxim works.

Bad enough we don't know the half of it because of lack of detail in the article, but these comments also show a marked ignorance of fairly basic psychology.
Of course he is not a pedophile, and even if he were, there is no psychological "help" available to make him "disinterested" in anyone under 18. Its simply not a treatable condition and the criteria of age is preposterous. Some may try anyway like they may try to "convert" gays, but its all nonsense. Fully one quarter to one third of normal men are attracted to prepubscent girls, and she isn't. Practically all men are attracted to teenagers. Its just the way it is, and neither can be considered abnormal unless they are fixated on one group or another. Psychology accepts that normal men are not very exclusive and normal sexual attraction not dependent on age.
Next, no we cannot say he is an ephebophile or hebephile either. That would indicate he is exclusively interested in teens. Sleeping with one teen does not make one either, any more than Doug Hutchison is one since he has a 16 year old wife (that looks 30), and that is clear because he had two other wives who were most likely over 21.
Seriously, if you cannot understand these basic things, how can you blithely come up with these comments without being throroughly embarrassed? All that is clear is that the law was broken. Even then a judge may consider circumstances and throw the case to the curb, and I could not blame the judge of he or she did. They have done it when it was decided the pair was in love. And if the judge decides he honestly did not know her age, that might be that. Big deal anyway.

I believe it would actually be possible to build an enclosed power station with enough juice to run key equipment at the plant that could survive anything but Japan literally sinking into the ocean, which is near enough to completely earthquake and tsunami proof. Short of that, generators could be put on ships ready to respond to these nuke plants on shore. It is just astounding that their plans A, B, C and D were all so half-assed and fell like dominoes and they are surprised.

A psyche eval from an article with three short paragraphs short on details? Would anything change in your diagnosis and prognosis if she looked and acted like Courtney Stodden (married Doug Hutchison) or Tracey Lords, doctor?
It can and it will. Here is one way: no harm no foul. Its not like he slapped her around. Its also not like he took the services and refused to pay. Imagine how that would have affected her.
This happened in February and we are just hearing about it now? Yeah, Earth shattering news. Surprised society did not get flushed down the toilet between then and now!
All signs point to her putting herself on the site. I would say that that action, which happens pretty often, and the action of teen girls running away from home, is far more worthy of a psychological analysis as well as comments on society. As ever, I see people desperate to grip the wrong end of the stick and keep those blinders firmly in place.

Ah, silly me. However, if he is innocent, do you not think giving him a visa would be a good and essentialy free payback for his time in prison? Or should he just be treated like any other over-stayer?
I have a feeling he will get some cash, but it will amount to peanuts. I think they should give him a life instead.

Nationality is not the issue. The comments would be the same if they were from Canada, Nigeria or Mars. My sympathy has dried up. I used to have it, but now its all but gone. These suffered a horrible a thing, yes, but we need to move on now and stop wasting time and money on a handful of disappeared people. There are lots of other disappeared people in this country and the world, but none are sucking up so many resources as these few. That is because both the families and the government are abusing eachother for their own purposes and it needs to stop. We got far more important issues at hand, and that would include looking for other disappeared people. We got all we are going to get out of NK. It was a miracle we got that much. But its over. Its been over. Its way past time to move on. My sympathy is used up, and has turned to anger. Everything has its limits.
