"We can all remember Japan whining and bitching like a pussy when China sent a man to space. It's been 8 years since and Japan still hasn't done it. Now, we hear a bankrupt Japan whining and bitching about a single carrier, one that is for training and no threat to her."

We can all remember when Japan put a probe around the moon back in 1990. It's been 21 years and China still hasn't done it,. But then what should we expect from a country that prides itself on doing what the United States and USSR did 40 years ago? A "Bankrupt" Jap[an that has the strongest currency in the world. So strong that the Chinese are buying it, Give it a rest.

" don't see the problem why China shouldn't have an aircraft carrier. Loads of countries have some, so why not China?"

Because the othr cvountries that have them aren't one party militant dictatorships with an agenda to take over the region and constantly threaten their neighbors.

Yes it;s pretty low standard and stupid. But then, expecting a country that;s on the other side of the planet geographically and culturally to share the same historical and cultural taboos as the west isn't all that bright either. About 10 years ago there was a ruckus in the New York area about Pokemon because one of the cards had a "swastika" on it. That the arns faced the wrong way and it was a "manji" not a Hakenkreutz went over the heads if all but the most learned and inetlligent. As long as this silly sounding show wasn't advocating fasicism, nazism, anti-semitism and wasn't a holocaust denying program, I find little to criticize about it. That Hitler was in fact a master manipulator is fact and it sounds to me that one could learn more from a program with this subject than watching something like American Idol.

"“I hope Japan can learn from the past, seriously reflect on its own defense policy and do more to deepen mutual trust with neighboring countries, maintain regional peace and stability, not the contrary,” Ma said.

In the eyes of all of Asia and the entire world, it's China that needs to learn from Japan's past..

I don;'\t think this is China testing the waters as in the Senkakus. Looks more like a couple of Chinese poaching vessels, nothing more. Will probably be treated as such. For those who for some reason ger off on talking about war between China and Japan, eventhough it;s pretty irrevelvant to this article, please appreciate that if China were to start a war with Japan it would effectively be starting a war with the United States. I don't think they want to do that. So let;'s just forget about it.

This, as well as other Chinese intrusions and arguments with oher Asian nations is all part of the Chinese military's agenda to control the vital waterways supplying other Asian nations and to hinder and obstruct the US Navy, the only obstacle to their expansion plans. China is nowv Asia most feared and mistrusted country with even socialist countries like Vietnam aligning itself with the United Stattes. Comments justifying Cina's behavior on the grounds that Japan was a militay dictatorship 60/70 years ago are ridiculous, Japan is a peaceful democratic nation and a US ally. China today needs to be treated like Imperial Japan was back then.

If there is zero need for he J-lawmakers to go there there was zero need for Korea Air to fly over it as well. Poor chioce of words o Lee's part because now if something unintentionally did happen it would become a SKorean liability. Doesn't he have any legal counsel?

"basit: "those are japanese islands" "Actually, they're not. They're inhabited by and maintained by SKorea, with the world recognizing that fact."

Whos is this world? They are inhabited and maintained by SKOrea because SKOrea unilaterally occupied them. The same way the USSR took thje southern Kuriles after Japan surrendered. Or the way China unilatreally occupied Tibet. So what countries consider the liancourt rocks as SKorean, and not territory under dispute?

If these Chinese techological secrets can't prevent this type of accident when the Japanese HS trains use an auto brakling system that kicks in at 7 km from another train on the same trracks, China can keep their prevcious "secrets".

China can try to export as many HS trains as they like but I don't want to see a single one of them operating in the US. And I am sure many many countries feel the same way. Maybe they can get orders from NKorea, Myanmar and the Sudan. The bigger story this morning is how the trains are back running after a day and a half without an investigation into the accident having been concluded. The trains are now running alongside debris from the wreck. This suggests that either the Chinese Govt don't give a hoot about public safety or that they already know what the cause was. The automatic braking system which China developed themselves is a prime suspect.

"japan has territorial disputes with ALL her neighbours. diaoyu islands belong to china/taiwan which japan tried to steal through unequal treaties. kuril islands belong to russia and japanese should learn to stop making a fuss over it otherwise russia will have to teach japan another lesson."

No you're totally wrong. Japan has 4 territorial disputes with her neighbors. China has 17 leading all of Asia in numbers of territorial disputes. The Senkaku Islamds were incorporated as part of Japan in January of 1895, the Treaty of Shimonoseki ending the Sino-Japanese war wasn't until April of 1895 and the Semkakus werem't even included as an issue because China (Ching) didn't even own them. As for the Southern Kuriles, the USSR stole those islamnds by invading them AFTER Japan had surrendered. This is why the Unitd States, THe UK anfd the EU considers them Japanese Territory under Russian occupation to this day. The only country bthat needs to be taught a lesson is China, a militant one-party dictatorship that is threatening all of Asia, and the United States is the biggest obstacle to it's expansionist agenda.

Yea sure, like North Korea was really "unified" with South Korea when they shelled that island and sunk the ship killing loads of South Koreans. For all the arguments and disputes over the L:iancourt Rocks, the Japanese are NOT killing anybody. And the vast majority of South Koreans aren't stupid enough to buy this nonsense from Pyonyang.

What a biased article. The ones who threw the IWC meeting into dissarray were the Buenos Aires group that demanded a vote on the Atlantic Sanctuary. Even the antiwhaling countries told them not to push it because there;s little whaling done in the Atlantic anyway, the Whaling countries would walk because this was something they had agreed to under an earlier propsal in return for their terms but that propsal never consumated and the Buenos Aires Group could never get the required 2/3rds votes to get it passed anyway.

At this point in time "no". Or at least "probably not". But it;s far too early to rationallyanswer this question. As for perception, I'd also say "no". But then you;d have to be oild enough to actually remember Chernobyl to make a comparison.

What a remarkably stupid theory. Has it occured to anyone that if the Nazis had technology anywhere near the kind attributed to "UFOS" and "Aliens" at the end of WWII, just what kind of technology the USA and USSR would have had since 1945?

LoveUSA at 11:14 AM JST - 24th May "their name and face are readily recognizable wherever you go on the planet is.... Hello Kitty." wrong, I did not know about Hello Kitty before visiting Japan. It is not >popular outside Asia.

I'd haveto say you;re the one that's wrong there. Don't know what part of the USA you're ;located byu Hello Kitty has been around New York for years. There's even a Hello Kitty float every year in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade which of course is broadcast nationwide.

What this article fails to mention is whether Plaintiff Savoie was awarded thus USD 6.1m by default. This is crucial because foreign courts will 99.9% of the time reject default judgements.

Of course anybody with half a brain is going to mock North Korea which is globally recognized as a major narcotics exporter and counterfeiter of foreign currencies in light of which this article headline is laughable. Whether those charged are guilty or innocent is practically an irrelevant issue. Except to NKorea supporters I suppose.
