LoveUSA at 11:14 AM JST - 24th May "their name and face are readily recognizable wherever you go on the planet is.... Hello Kitty." wrong, I did not know about Hello Kitty before visiting Japan. It is not >popular outside Asia.

I'd haveto say you;re the one that's wrong there. Don't know what part of the USA you're ;located byu Hello Kitty has been around New York for years. There's even a Hello Kitty float every year in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade which of course is broadcast nationwide.

What this article fails to mention is whether Plaintiff Savoie was awarded thus USD 6.1m by default. This is crucial because foreign courts will 99.9% of the time reject default judgements.

"I always found Ken's monotone English annoying and his acting wooden but that was before i knew he looked so good in cotton!"

Guess that explains why he gets on so well with Tom Cruise.

Of course anybody with half a brain is going to mock North Korea which is globally recognized as a major narcotics exporter and counterfeiter of foreign currencies in light of which this article headline is laughable. Whether those charged are guilty or innocent is practically an irrelevant issue. Except to NKorea supporters I suppose.

"It is often said that actions speak louder than words, but who cares if the J-media don't care to report the actions and hard work of these young men and women?"

The Shukan Post hardly reflects all of J-media. I've only watched NHK and FujiTV but the coverage of US miliary assistance has been accurate and good.

The US military may be the first to engage an adversary but it's also the first to come to the assistance of our friends.

dragon1commisar at 12:54 AM JST - 9th March Japan scrambled fighter jets last Wednesday when Chinese warplanes >approached nearby disputed islands...............Those survellience >plane were not alone,if they were harmed, some 'awesome' consequences >will follows!

Wrong, they were alone. And when challenged they did not enter Japanese airspace and simply left.

The United States is NOT a threat to China. China IS a threat to all of her Asian neighbors. It is they who want the US military presence to counterbalance the growing Chinese military threat. The US and it's Asian allies are not a threat to China, but an obstacle to China's expansionist agenda.

Amnazingly ignorant comment sfjp330. But then, just another typical Chinese act of provocation.

Don't know why shroom is beating his chest about how great the J-20 is when it's never been tested in action and might turn out to be as good as all the other MOC stuff in my house. Not to mention that experience is zero while the United States has used stealth fighters in actual combat since 1989. The F-15s despite their age have a long combat proven history. And the Japanese have been planning on updating their fighters long before the J-20 came about. Besides, what fighter craft challenges a prop driven Y-8 is hardly a point worthy of discussion.

Stonecoldsoba at 02:03 PM JST - 3rd March "Has Japan ever made similar efforts to heal the wounds of history in China, Korea, Malaya, ... ?"

China? Should be the other way around. The death rate of Japanese POWS in Chinese hands was a whopping 24%. And while they're at it they can apologize to the United States for the way they treated US POWs during the Korean War. Korea? Koreans weren't POWS, they were Japanse soldiers fighting the allies and Chinese because Korea was part of Japan from 1910-1945. Many of the most notoriously brutal Japanese POW camp guards in the Phillipines were Koreans according to allied POW reports. Malay? Assuming you mean Malaysia and not just the penninsula, I haven't seen anything to justify even bringing it up. Japan is rightly extending it's hand of friendship and these Australians, the ones who have the most reason and right to reject it, are accepting it in an honorable fashion. Looks to me like some Asian nations ought to learn a thing or two.

    "The Chinese planes flew away,"

This is what's going to keep happening since China now knows that stepping a foot onto these islands means facing the United States.

"Russia is demanding that Japan investigate a protest that took place outside the Russian embassy in Tokyo, and warning that it could open its own criminal case in the matter."

Russia can open whatever it wants but it has no jurisdiction in Japan whatsoever. But then again what can you expect from a country that steals territory from another that's already surrendered, ignores the objection of it's allies, then legalizes it within it's own country in violation of international law?
