"After their defeat in WWII the punishment was outlined in the Cairo Accords og 1943 and was part of the Unconditional Potsdam Surrender Documents. Specifically, the Accords read "ALL LANDS TAKEN BY VIOLENCE OR GREED, SHALL BE RETURNED TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWN"
Marion- The Liancourt Rocks (Takeshima/Dokdo) was NEVER included in any handover to S.Korea and remained as Japanese property as far as the United States Military and GHQ was concerned. In fact even SKorea never made a claim on these rocks until 1952. Your ranting about the Senkaku Islamds or Okinawa are irrelevant to this article.

China, which is itself a dictatorship has no qualms about dealing with dictatorships. It has no silly agendas like human rights or spreading democracy to hinder it's need to acquire raw materials.

Since 911, there has not been one succesful terrorist attack in the United States. Regardless of other issues, this alone indicates that Bush has been a "Total" failure.

You're entitled to your opinion. And I believe that much of what you stated, while no one would disagree, is all with the benfit of hindsight.

Sorry but I don't see Bush as a failure. For the simple reason that anyone else in office over these years, after 911, would very likely be in a similiar situation today, if not worse.

Sorry but I don't think Lucy is all that hot. As for being 40, it seems to me that the vast majority of Asian women who were good looking to stat with, look go at 40. So no big deal there. However, I do think that Lucy Liu is an under-appreciated actress, whose acting abilities have not had a chance to be seen by movie goers due to the limited kinds of roles she can get, a common problem for Asian-American actors.

Well the war has been over for ages, bombs are being found and more will be found, and no body is conducting hate marches against the United States. There isn't much to comment on this article as it's nothing more than just "news".

Fact is that these people, those protesting, suing, or otherwise would like to see the US Military leave Japan immediately are a minority. If they were a majority, the Japanese government would not be able to contine workig with the US as they do for their defense. And yes, as usual, the anti's are misguided on the facts of the issue (nuclear reactors are not nuclear bombs), just as anti's of any subject are very often misinformed.

"How many of the thousands of other writers wrote the name of their school and took pictures while doing it?"
Don't know since I can't read & write 10 or more different languages. Can you? Also, are you suggesting that by remaining anonymous enough not to "get caught" then there is no moral obligation to come forward and apologize?

"WHy are people praising her? She shouldn't have done it in the first place."
It's true she should never have done it in the first place. But to apologize for it deserves praise. We're not seeing all the other probably thousands of other graffiti writers from various countries stepping up to apologize, are we?

"I wonder how would be USA without Asian investment"
This is a good question, except that in terms of "Asian" investment, we are really talking "Japanese" investment, which has a long history of development throught the 60s, 70s 80s and 90s, balance of trade problems, trade wars, retaliatory tariffs, and all. SKorea which is a undeniable growing auto maker has I believe still just 1 factory in the US, and GM in fact bought out Daewoo motors. So really, it's the Japanese auto makers that have now been producing American-Made cars for quite some time. Yes, they are "American" cars no matter how you look at it as our Trade Representatives negotiate with the EU on quotas and consider all these US made Toyotas,Nissans,Subarus,Hondas etc as American exports.

Maybe they ought to take advantage of this Olympics necessity and permanently take dogs off their menus. Personally I find it far more disgusting than eating whales, but then again, maybe that's cause I never had a pet whale.

"I've seen women on trains here who just put saliva onto their lenses to wet them and put them into their eyes. Simply disgusting and unhygenic."
And action no doubt based on the fact that Saliva does contain anti-bacterial properties. However, considering all the other germs that can accumulate in the mouth I certaibly wouldn't use it as an alternative to any sterile eye-care fluid.
"The problem with the coloured lenses would never have occured had these Japanese not tried so hard to make themselves look like westerners. What is it that makes these people to go to extraordinary lengths to change their race - coloured lens, eyelid surgery, hair bleaching, etc."
This is not unique to Japan at all. You see it in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and you're seeing it now more in cosmopolitan Chinese cities. In fact, I'd say it's not unique to the orient either.
