Frankly I don't think that slowing down steaming speed from say 15k down to 10k is going to make much of a difference on the whale population. However, the savings in fuel consumption from slow-steaming will probably be enough of an enticement to get everyone to accomodate.

"OssanULTRA; Were i to purchase a pair of rose colored spectacles in Japan, then maybe i could see your view. Why don`t you ask Russia to go to the ICJ about disputed island with Japan?"

Russiansd don't seem to have an inferiority complex towards the Japanese the way SKoreans do,…

I dont particularly agree with Nancy Pelosi's opinions but to me that's, to sound like CHina, an internal matter for Americans. A person of her rank laying flowers at Hiroshima should be seem from a diplomatic point of view and the fact that we (The United States) can do this,…

They are recognized as being controlled by SKorea and are disputed. When SKorea gets the courage to win world concurrence of their position settling this dispute before the ICJ, where they can produce all the evidence they claim to have, then Skorea is in no position to be talking about…

The Chinese who suffered infinitely more than Koreans did at the hands of Imperial Japanese aggression can put aside their justified "anger" for the betterment of their country and regional stability and relations. China which resolved the East China Sea gas dispute with Japan peacefully and diplomatically looks at SKorea's…

Time for China to put a little sense into Korea. China hasn't come this far to improve it's relations with Japan for the purpose of East Asian stability and benefit to China, just to have it ruined by a 3 year old mentality.

The name "Sea of Japan" doesn't connote ownership by Japan any more than Koreans need to get their heads out of there and start thinking like normal people. But after seeing these comments, It's clear that had the body of water been named Sea of Korea obviously they would have…

"It's called the Sea of Japan because it's the presence of Japan that makes the sea. If Japan weren't there, the waters lapping on the shores of Korea would be the Pacific Ocean."

And the Koreans would be whining about how the Pacific Ocean should be renamed the East Ocean.

Again, you are conveniently claiming a passivity of accepting the designation by the Wes,t only because it benefits Japan."
