China's great advancement so far in the 21st century has been to build up their military to the point of shaking up everyone around them, putting a man into orbit which is what the US and USSR did 40 years ago, and to to become a top global exporter of manufactured products, a position which is already now on the decline. Meantime the demonstrations against the Chinese govt have increased, the gap between the rich and poor have widened, authoritarian controls and censhorship has gotten greater. It is indeed possible that it is China that is the paper Tiger of the 21st century. Nevertheless, China stil remains the big strategic threat in Asia and I support Australia increasing it's military capabilities. A military alliance involving the US, Japan, Australia and India with other nations in between would be the ideal "Great Wall" that will prevent any possible aggression on China's part and maintain peace and stability in East Asia.

I am impressed with this man that he did not want to make a legal issue out of it and go chasing millions of dollars. On the other hand I believe he has every right to send a bill to the Israeli Immigration authorities for his two dance performances.

"One Big Mac a day, one pack of cigarettes a day - it's all fine in moderation."
Disagree. A Big Mac may not be the perfect form of nutritional intake but it does have nutritional value. A Cigarette has absolutely nothing to offer of benefit to the human body other than to satisfy the craving caused by nicotine addiction, at the price of considerable detrimental effects to the body.

"Yeah, I remember the Japanese originals of 'There Will Be Blood', 'No Country For Old Men', 'The Good Shepherd', 'Hard Times' and 'Lambs For Lions', just to name a few of the Hollywood movies I've seen this year, don't you?"
None of those films are Horror Movies much less remakes of J-Horror. Movies such as Pulse, the Grudge, Dark Water, the Ring are examples of Hollywood remakes.

This article is evidence of how our policies are effective in the long run, that both the United States and our enemies can overcome the problems and differences. It should be a lesson to nations like Iran and North Korea.

"Well, given that the PM in Japan does nothing, and Koike has basically done nothing either in the Environment or Defense portfolios, I'd say she's eminently qualified for the job."
That's a good reason to suppport the one that's most pleasant to look at.

"is it relevant to this article? Just to disgrace Sumo-kyokai and Yokozuna?"
It is relevant to the article where it lists the number of scamdals that have fallen upon the sumo association of late. And it's not the only scandal mentioned.

Koike would be a good choice. She was a good choice as Defense Minister and she wuld be good as a PM if Japan wants to move towards "normalizing" their military, which is long overdue.

"Original, now that's a strange word in Japanese cinema these days...."
I guess that explains why Hollywood keeps remaking Japanese horror flicks.

This movie, a live action version of some manga or anime is, probably intellectually crap. But when Hollywood remakes one as The Matrix suddenly it's a great movie. Of course the mega budget and special effects make a big difference.
