Grow rosemary in a pot in a sunny spot and add the spiky leaves to the olive oil for a great natural hair conditioner. A little goes a long way!

Quite a take on the meaning of "violence". Can the human race evolve beyond this sort of man asap?

People are going to have to set up teams to get through the manual and forms! Beat TEPCO at their own lousy game!

Oh, and since I'm in Tokyo, can I claim mental hardship? Just me and some 27 million others...I'll take the short form, please!

Very nice way to move forward. More of these sorts of events should be supported.

Agree with oberst. And, why doesn't it say "Cool Japan"? "Japan Next" sounds to me like, "Japan, next" and out the door.

Really interesting. I've heard of Black before, and the Shogun book is a great read! One point...why waffle with "(he is said to have also written a text book,..." Leaves me dangling midair and wondering...did he write that textbook or not? What is the title? Is it in reprint, or lost? Is it just a rumor? WHO said this? Speculation from the aether? OK OK, it's a pet peeve of mine. Enjoyed the article very much.

Radio and iPhone app going off multiple times. Decided to get dressed just in case. Utility lines waving in the still early dawn. Sumida-ku...rocked just a little. My little tea cups enjoyed their extra vigorous swaying.

Looks like the solution for me is to take my TV manual (along with the serial number of the Victor) and ask the lucky guys at Yodobashi what it will take.

I DID look at the remote and pressing dijitaru brought up yet another screen with Jpns. A Jpns friend took a look and couldn't figure it out, either.

While I was hoping to just skate through, there is a complete lack of "what to do" in English here in Tokyo.

Ultimately, I just may buy a small USA digital flatscreen TV so I can understand the manual etc. Sorry, just too much kanji (pages and pages) for just me. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I don't suppose anyone has found an help for this situation in English? Didn't think so. :-]

Well, I'm confused. My digital TV is showing only those messages about the change on all channels? Does this stop soon? Do I have to go buy something? What?

Can't find info anywhere and I am supposing those phone numbers will not include any English support.

    Anyone?

Good news, but really, "back to fishing"? Better carry dosimeters and geiger the fish haul. Who's going to buy it, really, as long as TEPCO is going to dump into the ocean? Still, it must be a great feeling to get that ship out of the remnants of one's home...And Komatsu-san, there IS not going to "normal" for a very long time, I am afraid...nice thought, though.

What a complete foobar. Those poor subcontractors...And of course we have to wonder seriously how many other of Japan's 54-odd nuclear plants are in the same situation....and the rest of the world???? If there was ever a wake-up call to the danger of nukes, baby, what else do you need? So distressing.

Took all weekend to sort out getting "logged in". A real pain and never a reply from JT to my 5-6 emails to their support line. Not working on weekends? Sooo, I am tentatively back in, with a changed Gravatar avatar to reflect new realities. While I had no complaints about the old format, this one is spiffy. Don't much care for the right side ads in the way of more useful things, but whatevah on that one. Meanwhile, back to the news of Japan, more crazy than ever before.

@hoserfella...there was a recent article of Strontium detected in Shizuoka green tea sent to France. The French said, "merci nai" and refused to admit it to the country. Not sure what happened to the tea next, but that is what @legs is referring to, I am pretty sure.

How much is "500 tons" and how radioactive is it? And where is it all going to go? And how big are these filters? I mean, I use filters to make my coffee. More info please. I am far from reassured.
