3D TV's are a fad waiting to happen. People prefer a crisp image rather than realistic depth perception. Having to wear glasses is also a drag.

these comments are hilarious. normally strong on outside soft on inside is better. hard on inside means that after she gets married, when he really has to show who he is, he will be insensitive to her needs.

i bought the guide, and it's great. I'm already calling a few of the places. Expect a three month wait average.
Some places are truly "holes in the wall" according to western standards, but since Michelin only rates "whats on the plate" many smaller joints can receive due recognition. They have another classification for decoration and ambiance, but that's not as important as the stars.
Chef's have committed suicide in the past for losing a single star, so it's big pressure time for these locals.
I did notice a lot of places in Michelin that were not in Zagat, and this was very surprising since Zagat tends to review any type of joint. I guess they didn't get enough reviews on the more expensive joints to get statistically significant scores.
Michelin uses professionaly trained reviewers, so i would believe what Michelin guide says over Zagat, but Zagat always gives you the word on the street.

i can see the headling next week: Nokia opens R&D Center in India or China. Thats where the activity will be headed. Just look at the hundreds of thousands of engineering degrees (and Ph.D's)that graduate from these two countries every year. In the states, enrollment at MIT is more than 30-40% Chinese and Indian, including advanced degrees. If we won't give these countries acceess to the latest technology, they will figure out how to make better mousetraps in no time.
Nothing wrong with that, progress, survival of the fittest.

dendon, i dont buy coffee from farms that employ children under 16, and back home we follow US and State minimum wage laws. There's also accident insurance, workers comp, unemployment insurance, etc. etc. etc.

who would pay for this piece of junk, farmed by young children with no shoes or roof over their heads? I'm in the coffee business, i've seen it all.

The people who have finally made this arrangement obviously have analyzed the legal issues more than any of you here.
In virtually any trial, a person is given a chance to speak, however, it is not their right that the trial be publicized or televised. They only have a right to confront their witnesses, and make their case to the jury.
I wish that the Judge impose a gag order so no one will listen to anything these psycopaths have to say. He/she can do that easily.
Instead of death penalty, they shoud get solitary confinement for life, so they won't be seen as martyrs. If they get the death penalty, 9/11 victims and families should get to witness (and perhaps pull the switch haha).
The appeals will go all the way to the Supreme Court I'm sure. Military tribunals should have been the easy way out, but if they can pull his off without a hitch, it will serve as a lesson to other wannabe terrorists out there.

Let's hope that their concessions don't include money, which they will use to buy more weapons. In Colombia and other countries, kidnaping businesses are run out of seemingly reputable offices, and the revenue stream is pretty solid. Heck, they may even have business cards.

he should have bowed but not so deeply, and the emperor should also acknowledge by also bowing or at least nodding his head.
In Japan, such a deep bow is associated with a subservient situation, or with important customers.

It's good that other countries are shouldering the burden of fighting in Afghanistan. If it's seen as a US only war, then it's only one enemy to defeat for the Taliban, but if it's many then it may be very demoralizing for them.
