The teeth award is very ironic as well, given the sad state of many Japanese celebrities' teeth. It may serve as an example for everyone to get their act together.

SBBArnes: the other guys were street people interviewed as part of the program. They are not part of the production staff. I'm sure there's many other men involved in the decision making there. I'm not in the TV business, but i'm sure that even for the simplest broadcasts you need many people for management, camera work, sound, editing, etc. etc. Why only the woman was punished is the reason you see so much criticism.
As can be seen from recent times, most muslim or arab countries are very progressive. Even countries such as Iran are very receptive to global ideas. The cultural transformation in Iraq is a direct result of the openness facilitated by access to mainstream culture. Once the floodgates have been opened, there's no way that you can take those freedoms away from these people. Saudi has repeatedly shown that they will have none of these reforms, and will continue to lead a country where the richest 1% of the population control 99% of the resources. If it wasn't for all the US protection, the Kingdom would have come to pass a long time ago.

what about the other people that produced the show? the other men? Since Saudi is a mysoginistic society, i'm sure the men will get away scot free. Only the obvious ones were caught.
Saudi is at the leading edge of fundamentalism, just like the Taliban. The west should put pressure on them to create equal rights for women. The fact that they sell us a lot of oil shouldnt excuse them of this.

I installed the release candidate a couple months back, things started out better than ever, but soon the system has rotted to the point i have to reformat/reinstall...
They have ironed out a lot of things that used to take a lot of input, such as installing hardware and drivers, but I still haven't seen a single piece of software that says its 100% compatible with Windows 7.

Just look at New York, they have JFK, they also have Newark and La Guardia. Definitely it's good to have some competition.
If all the bureaucracy, red tape and corruption were eliminated, it would result in greater convenience and lower fares for everyone.
It definitely helps that Haneda is closer to some pretty large population areas in th southern part of Tokyo, and that there are big logistics centers there to also handle air cargo.

if they are saying that they "plan" to build it, it means the US has had it in stock for a few years now. A simple scaling up of current technology is all that is needed. Since it's non-nuclear the US can test quickly in US facilities...

I am in the food business and i can tell you that Japanese rice is way beyond other countries' rice in terms of quality. Even in Japan there are dozens of levels of quality and varios methods of production that increase costs.
"Brown Rice" or genmai is just the unpolished rice. It is more nutritious by far but i prefer polished rice.
Basmati rice from India and Jasmine Rice from Thailand are also good, but completely different taste and aroma.
These girls need to be given an award or something. Perhaps they are already on some government's payroll. Still, it's a noble effort.

you would need a foundry to work steel, and this would show up in IR satellite scans. I seriously doubt there is any ability to manufacture anything in these remote mountains.
It's all gotta be coming in through a few areas. I know its virtually impossible for the US to even monitor its own border with Mexico, but at least they should give this a shot.

Insurgents and Muhajideen in Pakistan and Afghanistan, they dont have factories to manufacture rifles, bullets, explosives. Cutting the supply lines and monitoring all road vehicle traffic by only allowing passing through a handful of places may be a way to do this. In the mountains, mules may be only way to transport, but before you get to the mule, things have to arrive on a truck from somewhere...
Pakistan really has not pulled its weight to control the insurgents. If they do too much, then voters may thing that Pakistan is kowtowing to US demands. They should allow freer access to the most remote areas. Predator drone strikes are not as effective and can lead to civilian casualties.

As much as perverted and crazy this guy might be, if the girls went willingly and did not show any resistance, unfortunately there may be little that could be done against this creep. Police should scour his home agreesively for anything fishy.
Nowadays everyone has mobile phones, didnt these girls have a phone with them? Sorry to go with a generalization, but in Japan you see kids walking the streets by themselves all the time. You would never see a kid in the US walking the street far away from his home, much less at night.
