It's called an iPhone. Just download the Knidle app.

I own a Kindle and an iPhone. I have great eyes and am generally patient, but I HATE reading on the Kindle for iPhone app. Screen is too small, you need to flip pages too often, eyes get very very tired (which they don't do with the Kindle proper). It's better than nothing, but it's not very enjoyable.

It's a mirrorless camera, not an SLR! Please correct this, it looks silly to call this an SLR when the body isn't even thick enough to have a mirror.

I think it's frightening that young girls, who are not impoverished, would even think of selling their body for money.

It's more bizarre than frightening, I think.

Our government is completely screwed up, but at least they let people make decent, real beer.

Plenty of great beer in Japan, dude. It's not all Super Dry and happoshu.

It's interesting, but the HDR is a bit overdone I think. I like HDR that enhances the emotion of the image. Graphically this is interesting but I don't think the blended exposure adds any meaning to the image.

I always like her. She's got personality, and of course she is a winner!

Subways and trains are great, and I have ridden them all over the country. My favorite, even over Singapore, HK, and all the other nice places.

I have no complaints except the lack of aircon in the station in Tokyo subway in the summer! The rest is great, though.

People who oppose file sharing are the same people who have been brainwashed by their governments into believing that everyone should pay as much income tax as possible.

Amazing the lengths people will go to justify their greed, isn't it? If you want to loan music to a friend, support DRM-free music or lend your CDs. But just pilfering it off the net? No different than not liking the prices on Vuitton so buying fakes instead. Not the worst crime on the planet but not something you should pin on your chest as a badge of honor, either.

A rich person won the lottery.

Why does everyone assume she is rich? She's not eikaiwa-sensei poor but she may not be rich, either.

Stupid controversy. Why would little kids be looking at GQ? The actresses are 24 which puts them way, way beyond any question of whether or not it's 'appropriate' to pose for such pictures (as if it's anyone's decision but theirs to begin with).

because the demographic for such things are teenagers that have no idea what they want, who they are or what is tasteful or talented, so they just follow what images re sold to them through media sources and peer pressure.

Or, alternatively (this is the "I don't hate young people" interpretation) - maybe the people who like these girl groups have their own tastes, and those who don't find these girl groups enjoyable have their own reasons. One person's impeccable taste is another person's pile of crap.

Fun music, lots of cute girls. It's escapism.

Are you serious? All I see is a (little) girl's legs and I don't get what is special about that.

She's quite obviously not a little girl. Japanese women tend to have thin legs and she's wearing 6 inch heels to boot. That doesn't make her a 'little girl'.

Until this girl turns around all i can see is a maid.

Um, I think those heels give away that she's not actually a maid.

I've had plenty of nice Thai, Chinese, and Korean food here. It's not sold at Family Mart. You need to go to the places where the Thai, Chinese, and Korean people go. You know, just like you do everywhere else in the world!

Good. Add this to the list of the many things I like about Japan.

Oh, it's difficult for the government to take away people's property? Waaaaah big developers! It SHOULD be virtually impossible to do.

How is this a band-aid solution?

-Don't smoke on the street where not permitted by law -You can smoke in **private businesses **

How reasonable! A private business can allow smokers should it so choose (and plenty do ban smoking completely). Non-smokers can choose to avoid these private businesses should they not like the smoke. Non-smokers cannot easily avoid smokers on the public streets.

You can get plenty of friendly, personal service in Japan. I wouldn't expect it at a burger joint or a chain coffee shop, but try going to a small, family-owned store, or a local izakaya, or a small bookstore and you'll get taken care or really well.

I don't know why people would try to get something outside the norm from a fast food place. What do you expect? The person you are working with is a hourly paid baito worker who only cares about their job to the extent the manager wants them to. The manager doesn't care about doing anything outside the normal. I don't know why this would be surprising to anyone. If you got to McDonalds in Canada do you expect them to serve stuff that isn't on the menu?

There's plenty of cases where I can get frustrated by customer service in Japan. There's a much higher percentage of cases in my experience in other countries than Japan. If you want to focus on the bad experiences instead of the overall good ones, then I suppose you can go through life with that sort of negative outlook.
