I don't know whether or not it's true about avoiding subtitled movies but I've always heard that if a foreign movie is successful elsewhere it will be remade for the American audience. Some examples being The Departed, The Lake House or Insomnia. Wikipedia has a fuller list here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ListofEnglish-languagemoviesbasedonforeign-language_movies

Mr. truck driver, you have been negligent. You could have avoided hitting that poor man. You could have sped up and taken off in the air with that truck of yours like in an instant. You could have swerved to the left and gone through the guardrail and crashed somewhere else perishing in a spectacular ball of fire. Or you could have chosen a completely different carreer track, become a cop or something. But since you haven't, your actions practically amount to willful murder.

600 dollars should make it around 60,000 yen in Japan and 720,000 yen per year. That sounds reasonable to me, considering the cost of oil, to lease it for about 3 years and then see what the future brings.

The company said it added 530,000 subscribers in March, outpacing rivals NTT DoCoMo Inc and KDDI Corp for the 11th straight month. They did outpace DoCoMo, but AU got roughly the same number of new customers in March. True, KDDI was still bleeding TU-KA subscriptions badly until April but from now on new lean KDDI can compete with Softbank neck in neck and with 30% market share they're well ahead. Anyway, the market in Japan is far from saturated but I don't see how Softbank is poised to be number 1 even locally once it comes to snatching subsribers from each other. After a short slump even DoCoMo is steadily gaining more new customers than losing old ones.

I don't see how switching to dubbing may address the "what are nazi" issue. Without at least katakana to indicate that it is a foreign word there'll be nothing to tell the lazy kids nazis were anything different from the Nachi company somebody mentioned. Anyway, the average movie-goer is not expected to have an omnibus knowledge of everything in the world or beyond. There's this fantastic new invention called the Internet for people who haven't heard of books. Somethins spices your curiosity? Go and look it up on Wikipedia.

Sinfonia Varsovia is a chamber orchestra. How exactly did they welcome babies and kids with 'full orchestra music'?

That's bad, but why did you get a mouth guard? Will you buy a helmet or full body armor next time you're punched in another part of your body?

I was once made an offer by the above mentioned company that I simply couldn't refuse. If I had I'd have woken up with the head of Microsoft in my bed.

Who comes up with such gizmos? The whole idea of camera phones is that you don't need to carry anything else if a need to take a pic or a vid arises. If you know you're going to snap a few shots, put a proper digicame in your bag or pocket. Small ones are not much bigger than this funny little contraption, and they actually work.

So you are the British chef at a French restaurant, eating escargots and goose pate and creme brulee for months and months and what you basically do is have a go at macdonalds and decide to get some BBQ sauce to go with your french fries and then trying to make a run for freedom with the precious bottle? How ridiculous is that? This story is an obvious fake from the scratch. The secret service needed to plant their own agent at the restaurant and devised this devious plan to frame the poor bastard, probably drugging him with hallucinogens strong enough to loosen his grip on reality and make him go to the vilest place in the universe and order one of their horrible hamburgers containing a large dose of psychotropic drugs inducing aggression and of course an uncontrolable urge for BBQ sauce. So typical, how could anyone fall for that one?
