Jetblue, never heard of it. Seems like they have crappy jumpseats, not to mention service, never mind buddy passes.

fruity/cocktail drinks I'd understand but why mix veggies with alcohol? It'll be out of the market soon enough, much like many other 'experimental' products. I regret that in Japan once you start to like one particular beverage that they start selling, they take it out rather shortly afterwards. Then there are the 'only this season' type of products too. Consumerism at its best.

by reading the posts, in general it seems that foreign women and men come to Japan for different reasons.
It might be difficult for both if they have issues with their egos and competition, for they are in Japan and stand out in some way or another. I sense external/peer pressure of some sort. That may not be an ideal/healthy way to start a relationship, but if the topic is about getting a date, how hard can that be?

hopefully I didn't put it as bluntly as some, but I can understand why Westerners think that the Japanese are better looking in their natural usually black hair, it suits them and it's shinier. Although some Japanese claim to have natural lighter hair (and some even dye it black!) and yes, their features are varied if you get a closer look. Anyway I would have liked to see that jewelry more closely.

"I do not understand why so many Asians would want to change their hair color"
The answer is easy: they're bored with black. The same reason women everywhere dye their hair, to change their looks. In Japan it's now boring to see so many women and men with their hair dyed actually. I don't know for sure but someone mentioned Mori is of mixed heritage, which might explain the shape of her eyes.

"frontandcentre at 03:14 PM JST - 7th May Big chunks of avocado enhance any good burger"
No kidding? Perhaps in Mexico or Hawaii, but I wouldn't take chances with that risky combination (too much fat/oil together). A burger's pure grease anyway.

This alone would've smelled like trouble right from the start, Ron. Maybe acting crazier than crazy people on trains might help. Sometimes it doesn't, you really have to call the station employees, I know I do it every time something weird happens, whether I've seen it or have been harassed myself. BTW I'd like to know where I can find pepper spray.

Hello Kitty laptop computer which will probably be purchased by the brow-shaved, earpierced, spiky haired, hellokitty slippers wearing teenage boy I saw on the train yesterday.

I agree with some of the choices here, but I'm thinking Ennio Morricone for now.

is (gasp) 'Hard Gay' still making the news? I thought and hoped this fad would be over soon, because one of my colleagues was fond of him for some reason. I had to admit, while women do silly things to gain attention and fame and money and whatnot from men, why not a male (and Japanese at that) doing the same thing, I thought at the time.
But NO, come to think of it, that colleague of mine was quite trashy herself. So no to both men and women doing the chacha or whatever it is that seem to appeal to some folks.
